(( I'm not going to do any more NPCing of Ragnarok unless you'd rather I do it. S/he's yours to deal with as you see fit.
Things of note: - It remembers things from its own past (events it was present for), but they get more and more hazy the further back they go, because it had a very ill-defined 'self' before now. - It CAN speak, but as this is the first time it ever has it's not going to be very good at it. - BIGGLOWINGSPIRITFORM... not a physical object. People with no spirit sense shouldn't see it, and it normally won't come into contact with or be affected by purely physical things. Underlined for emphasis. ))
The Reaper did not adopt a fighting stance. He raised his head, and then raised his hand, and the pool beneath them erupted violently as the massive maw of an ancient dragon burst forth from the surface of the water beneath the Angaran; snapping its jaws closed shortly after.

((You'll have to NPC things that I couldn't possibly know if I ask it stuff like that. But I think I get the gist of it.))
The energy spike caused Ryugi to jump back, hard, and land on the shore of the pool as the maw of the dragon shot out of the water and towards him, the jaws snapping shut seconds after Ryugi had retreated. He kept his sword in hand, still not sure of what to make of the situation. What the hell WAS that thing? Was it some sort of energy attack? The reincarnated spirit of the fallen Burnheart? Whatever it was, Ryugi had to take more time to figure out hat he was dealing with before he jumped into battle...
Dammit... If you have any information on what I'm fighting Ragnarok, I'd be pretty grateful if you could share it with me.

(( Lololololololololololol I totally failed at that 'making posts often' thing.
Screw me for not checking Gaia much anymore now that I've been sucked into an MMORPG. ))
"Bones..." was the spirit's reply; spoken without the need for formed words or drawn breath, only needing to wish to communicate and the words were already said. "Dead bones of dragon... magic..."
Ragnarok stayed behind Ryugi as he retreated; half in and half out of the water, though it slunk through the water, the stone, and the air as if nothing was there to impede it at all.
Droplets of water sprayed the walls of the cave as the ancient maw of time-bleached teeth and bone burst forth from the surface of the pool, followed by a massive frame of nothing but eroded bone that had been preserved over the millenia solely by the ancient magic bred into them. Its head turned downwards as skeletal wings rose out of the water and stretched alongside the creature's frame; and it let out a silent roar as the jaws stretched wide in a terrifying show of how spectacularly preserved the razor teeth that filled its mouth were.
Other than the bones there was nothing left of the ancient red; no flesh, no scales, no tendons still clinging to the skeleton. Cast in the red light of the fire beside the shore and running with rivulets of dark water across the creature's body, it waited only for a command.
"I told you," echoed the Reaper's voice throughout the cave, "this won't be fun."
He thrust his hand out and clenched his fist with a sudden twist.
Almost mirroring the motion, the remains of Burnheart swept down upon the Angaran with a rapid snapping of the jaws. Its head twisted to the side as it rushed in over the ground to catch the swordsman from either side.

Dead bones and magic. That sounded unpleasantly familiar. At this range Ryugi wouldn't be able to pull off a negation attack to disrupt any magical energy flowing through the done dragon's form, and even if he could it was unlikely he could create enough anti-magic to completely negate the spell over the form before the wielder could recharge it. The only option then? Attack with enough force to destroy the bones while trying to keep himself out of harm's way. As the massive form of the bone dragon charged towards him, Ryugi would once more leap off to the side as the form of the rampaging creature would rush past him, but this time he did more than simply get out of the way. He gripped the handle of Ragnarok, his eyes burning with energy as he called upon his energy, the power within him surging through the newly awakened blade and rushing forth to attack the beast before him in a mighty strike. VORPAL SLASH!!Quote: Vorpal Slash – Ragnarok releases a superheated slash of energy that cuts the air in twain as it moves. The blade is capable of cutting through heavy defenses and armor for moderate damage to the target inside. If used against an unarmored opponent it can heavily damage an opponent, if not be fatal. Luckily, the attack is easy to dodge, being a single slash, unless used at close range where the high speed of the attack is put to its highest effectiveness. Named in honor of a blade said to destroy a powerful and formidable beast. Energy surged through the blade and out through the slash as a mighty blade of destructive cutting energy shot out across the form of the undead draconic beast that attempted to strike Ryugi down, the massive cutting force aiming to cut through and destroy the bones of the attacker with terrible force. And at this close a range, the power of the mighty slash would be at its maximum power, and at its maximum accuracy as Ryugi moved away from his target.

(( I should NOT be taking a week to respond to these things... ... ...well, middle of the week is kind of eaten but STILL. ninja ))
The cave echoed with the sounds of bones cracking against bones as the monstrous creature's fangs snapped shut on nothing but air; the Angaran swordsman himself having slipped away at the last moment. The skeletal dragon's body crackled as the ancient bones continued to grind against each other, and though it had missed impaling the swordsman between its jaws it was already beginning to withdraw and snap at him again.
The strike was too slow, however. Just as Burnheart craned its neck back like a snake preparing to bite the radiant edge of Ragnarok cut through bone and air alike. With the accompanying sound of a sonic boom the aged and brittle bones shattered like glass and a divide was formed straight through the breast of the monstrosity.
The lake erupted again in a catastrophic splash as the lower half of the creature's body crashed into the water once again and sank beneath the surface; and the cave shook as the upper half crashed down onto the rocks beside the water, still clawing with one bony arm to bring itself about and make a meal of Ragnarok's master.
Meanwhile, the man pulling the strings did not stand still quietly and watch the little drama play out. In addition to making a twist of the wrist with his right hand, his left moved on its own to the hilt of his weapon and cut a single horizontal slash across the space in front of him.
What followed was almost like a backdraft. Ryugi's Vorpal Slash had shattered and splintered the bones of the dragon that it had crashed through on it's way to the other side, and what were left of them now decided to turn back in retaliation. Following immediately behind the gusts created by the Vorpal Slash was a wall of air that crashed in around the swordsman and sent the shattered bone fragments raining down on him like a storm of glass shards.
Burnheart's toothy maw lashed out sideways at the swordsman, anchored by a clawed arm dug into the cave wall. It had no soft flesh to consider, and felt no pain, its only drive was to fulfill the purpose it now lived for.

Luckily for Ryugi, a well timed burst of flame energy would erupt from his body, casting the bone fragments away from his body, as well as buying him enough time to bring Ragnarok into a defensive position, as the burst would also serve to delay the attacking maw of the dragon's bones.

Fangs bit down upon a wall of flames as Burnheart's skeletal maw tasted only fire. The force of the blast was enough to delay the snap of the jaws but not enough to stop them. Hindered by only a momentary pause the dragon clapped its jaws shut once again with utter disregard for the swordsman's hasty defense.

The defensive position of Ragnarok was more of a precautionary measure in case what he attempted next didn't work out as he'd hoped. Before, the beast had been too large for a negation blast to have a lasting effect on it, but now, as it had been cut in half, and since it was much smaller, a negation should be able to have an effect on the beast. If not, Ryugi had Ragnarok ready to defend whatever came his way.
His left arm grabbed the handle of the Sol Blade long enough to unleash a Negation attack, the wave of negating energy erupting and flowing over the smaller section of the bones, sapping and erasing the magical energies that continued to keep them alive. If successful, the attack would also render the bones lifeless once more, at least for a time, before they could be re-energized.

Magic bones - magic = bones... lots of them.
Though the magic that animated them had gone, there was no mistaking the avalanche of bones that was about to crash down on Ryugi.
(( Blargh. Simplistic. ))

-TINK-CLANK-CLANG-CLONG-
Bones hit Ragnarok as the defensive position Ryugi had placed the weapon in served to act as a defense against the large pieces of bone that fell down around him. He continued to stay on guard though, after all, that couldn't be it, could it? Crazy undead dragons and other such tests were not usually won so easily...

Tests were never that easy.
There was a sudden spray of water as something burst forth from the surface of the pond behind Ryugi's position. Though it had no head and only one forelimb upon it, the bulk of Burnheart's body still 'lived'. For a magically animated creature such as this, a head was a luxury that it no longer needed.
The skeletal form wasted no time in raking it's claws across the swordsman's exposed back.

*Ding Ding Ding!!*
It seemed Ryugi was correct, as the large splashing noise behind him caught his attention. What the claws would meet instead of Ryugi's exposed back would be a solid block from Ragnarok, which had quickly been swung around into position as Ryugi's body followed suit. Of course it wouldn't be easy blocking such a large amount of force, and as such, Ryugi's legs skidded across the ground, digging ruts into the floor around the pond as he held off the assault. He'd need a short break before he could use Negation again, which meant he was one his own for the time being.

Rather than fighting with the Angaran for control, the bone claws wrapped themselves around the Ragnarok to seize it from the swordsman. Ryugi could fight it all he wanted, but the body of the titanic lizard was several orders of magnitude larger than Ryugi's own. A persistent grip upon the Ragnarok would keep the sword in his hands, but drag him along with it into the icy depths of the water.

Well ******** that.
One thing about the titanic lizard being several orders of magnitude lager than Ryugi meant that it was also a bit slower. Not that this meant it was a sloth by any means. But its size DID serve to limit the speed at which it could move. After Ryugi skidded along the ground, and saw the claw(s), reach for Ragnarok, he stabbed the tip of the weapon into the ground below his feet, aiming to anchor himself and the blade within it. The blade was at an angle, which would make it all that much more difficult for the serpent to pull the weapon out of the ground.
No one was contesting the serpent's strength being more than Ryugi's, but Ryugi wasn't trying to overpower it, simply buy himself more time...

Time was all that it would buy him. A second, maybe two, but hardly a reprieve. With the tip of the blade wedged into the ground the creature had only to keep pulling before the stone broke away and the weapon and the swordsman in tow with it would be dragged underwater.
On the shoreline, there was a pile of bones that sat motionless and jumbled.
In the water the majority of an ancient dragon's remains threatened the Angaran's life.
What did he think he had up his sleeve?
