Mikki looked over to Lyra and then to Alutian. "I'd like to know as well! And can we use owls? I think if we're gonna be stuck in here we may need to have some more food, and my mother could send some." Mikki pointed the box of food out to Alutian. "You're welcome to have some."

Mikki chuckled at Lyra, even though she was thinking of doing the exact same thing. Mikki went up to the dormitory and grabbed her book. She wished she had some peeps left.

Lyra returns with her book and sits down in a comfy chair. She opens her book, savoring the slight crackling sound a new book makes when it's opened for the first time, and the slight musty smell of the pages. Lyra inhales deeply, and begins to read.

Miranda had been in the library and was on her way back to the common room when the lights went out. Instinctively, she pulled out her wand and said, "Lumos." Nothing happened. "This can't be good," she thought to herself. Getting a little worried, she tired to calm herself down while running uo the stairs to the common room. "It's nothing. Maybe you're just dreaming,...." She tried to tell herself, knowing it was a losing battle.
When she got to the common room, the door was locked. She was going to break the window and crawl in, but, she told herself, if it was as bad as it seemed, everyone would be in there and they would help her get in. "Besides, don't you think breaking a window is a little, over-dramatic? Too drastic??" her conscience agreed with her, for once.
She settled for banging on the door and hoping someone could let her in.

Alutian had the same problem with how to get in, so we just decided to assume for the purpose of RP that she was already in the common room. The doors work with magic, so I'm not entirely sure if we can open it. Shall we assume it can still be opened from the inside? Maybe we should ask Alutian.]]
Lyra was quietly reading when she was startled by a loud banging on the common room door. She put her book aside and went to see if the door could possibly be opened.

Mikki joined Lyra at the door. "Who's there?" she shouted through. Well, whoever it is, they're probably part of the house, she thought, and tried to push the door open.

|| Hi! I had a very good birthday, except for a certian someone wouldn't let me sleep over at mikki's house, but whatever. Being 14 doesn't feel much different than being 13, but I do like finally being 14, 'cause now I don't feel like I'm the youngest anymore. LOL
Nah, I think I'll figure out how to get in eventually. Besides, this way is more fun. ninja ||
"It's Miranda!" She yelled back. She couldn't quite tell who it was by the sound of the voice yelling at her, but she figured it was either mikki or princess.
She stopped banging for a minute, but it didn't seem like whoever it was was making much progress. "Do you mind if I break the window??" She yelled through the door.

As she looked around for something to break the window with, she yelled back, "Tell everyone to get out of the way!"
Much to her dismay, she didn't find anything that looked like it was hard or sharp enough to break glass.
"Well, here goes nothing." She took off her shoe and put it on her hand. She then punched the window as hard as she could. It didn't work, but she tried again. After what seemed like a million tries, she was going to give up, but decided to try once more.
Good thing she did, beacuse this time, it worked. She crawled through the window and plopped herself down on her favorite chair by the fire. "Hey guys. Did you miss me?"

"Perishable foods?" Carrigan muttered, reaching into the box tentatively. He had pulled out a bag of chips and was staring at it disdainfully when he heard something crash. He jumped about a foot in the air, just barely restraining a cry of surprise, and then Miranda's voice was floating across the room. From his peripheral vision, he could see her outline settling in a chair by the dwindling fires. The Ravenclaw gnawed on his lower lip before answering her question. "Of course," he said, standing to prod the fire with the poker on the hearth. The warmth of the flame covered up his uncomfortable flush, because now that everyone in the House were in the common room together, they might begin to ask questions as to where he was. What he had been doing. He didn't want that.

Miranda saw the box of food mikki had left out and pulled out a bag of chips and a juice box.
Maybe it was just the shock of "I just broke a window. On purpose.", maybe it was just her being herself. Either way, it wasn't untill then that she noticed that carrigan was back.
"Carrigan! You're back!" She ran up to him and gave him a huge hug, even though she knew he didn't like when she did that. "Where were you?"
