Kirara. Lozt_1 Kirara. omg.... am i supposed to slice off the handle of the bolters for my marine tactical squad? the bolters wernt attached gonk I take it this is your first GW army? Almost every army requires you to slice off the grip to the weapon and glue it in place... yeah catachan plastics, CSM, SM, Some cadians, Some orks all need barrels drilled and grips removed...

it you're referring to the knife in the sm sets... It's a combat knife. Sm have had those since the original plastic beakies were released. It can be used to make a more barbaricperson with a pistol and CCW if you get okay at converting, or stuck by the handle under a bolter as an impromptu beyonet, or glued to a marine's wait on one of the tiny squares provided on some legs for storing equipment on...

Now you see why so many SM players horde chainswords... Tiny knives are barely good enough for the occasional bayonette... Also not every one drills there gun barrels...

That is the only exception. before the veterans box you could also use them to represent veterans with bolt pistols/CCW. BT also need to have a lot a CCW as do SW...

yeah, but anyone who can go to a GW store or use a debit card online can just order the old assault weapon sprue or combat weapon sprue. And now there's about 6 sprues to pick from.
