As the others begin to eat, Monster watches from behind the couch, eying his plate of chili dogs. In one quick motion, the plate is gone and Monster is munching on them, back behind the couch.
-One second there was a plate of chili dogs. Next moment none. She watched amused as a blue blur suddenly vanished too. There was gonna be one satisfied Monster Guy belly tonight-

"You ain't lookin' so good there, puppy." A head was dangling upside down in front of the mermaid. A head the was poking out of a portal. A head belonging to a certain nutty thief.

It took the mermaid a few moments to realize she was being spoken to. It took another few moments before she realized the direction as to where the voice was coming from. Looking up, she shook her head and blinked a few times, trying to shake the haze from her mind.
"I-I n-need w-w-water," she mumbled, trying to muster the energy to get up. She needed to find it soon, mermaids were never meant to be on land for too long and she'd spent too much time on it already.

"I'm fine." Minty made eye contact with Daenes, "Just...gonna go back to sleep I think. Hopefully the grunnies can manage to choke down any desire to create another dire emergency situation."

"Considering we've exterminated most of them in the past 24 hours, I think they'll need as much time to recuperate as we will." Xashowd replied. Things were definitely simmering down (aside from Daenes attitude, Xashowd noted), so it was likely they'd all get a well-deserved rest tonight. Xashowd moved over to a table and put the bag of utensils down. "I'm just going to set these here. If anyone wants to rummage through them, feel free." Xashowd said to no one in particular. He'd brought them to help, but with what happened it seemed of little consequence.
Xashowd looked around for a place to stand and wait for a while. His curiosity immediately turned his eyes toward Daenes. She seemed to be giving him the silent treatment, as aside from the occasional spike in anger she didn't react much to him. Does she think that by ignoring me she'll somehow get rid of me? Xashowd chuckled. Clearly she didn't know how persistent Xashowd could be when it came to satisfying his curiosity. With willful intent, he walked over to the wall Daenes was standing near and stood with his back against it, about 5 feet from her. Xashowd figured that eventually she'd realize he didn't give up that easily.
The thief frowns in concern, dropping out of the portal and somehow managing to flip herself to land on her feet. She carefully scoops up the weak mermaid, grunting a little at her weight. "I got ya, puppy..." Another portal opens, a salty breeze blowing through the room as the thief trots through with the mermaid, the portal immediately closing after them.

-She nibbled on her toast, occassionally switching up for a piece of fruit while surveying the room. It had quieted down, thankfully, and now people were able to get a decent meal that the grunnies and grombies were not an immediate threat. She kept an eye on Xashowd and Daenes, remembering how he dashed after 'er last time. Currently, they gave her the impression of two cats, stuck in their corners. She just hoped they didn' get territorial and start picking a fight in the middle of the safe house. The las' thing they needed was someone with Daenes and Xashowd's abilities going at it. That might even be worse than if the grombies got in-
-She blinked, seeing a person suddenly appear, upside down...out of thin air? Before she coul' say anythin' to her, the newcomer scooped up little River and dashed out another portal-sea salt? Was that Gambino? Her ears perked up and she looked over, only to find the portal closed. The bunny felt dismay for a moment, then mentally slapped herself. She couldn' go takin' off with the grunnies still about, what was she thinkin'? They got over the worst of it. Should be all downhill from 'ere. Still, she didn' even want to know how many cards she had left now. A few had come back after the power came on, but after that grunny/grombie attack? She was sure they were gone, and probably took more with 'em.

(Now I feel bad only taking the Merpuppy. Though Falinn likely wouldn't have taken anyone else unless they paid her.)

Her skin was dry to the touch. The mermaid didn't argue or struggle as the thief scooped her up. The scent of salt air seemed to perk her up just a little, however.
"Th-th-thank you," she mumbled.
((Yes. Good job, Falinn! Thinking with portals.))

Xashowd stood there for a while, watching Daenes for any reaction. Nothing. Gotta give the lady an A for effort, at least. Xashowd thought. He then noticed she kept looking in the same direction. He followed her line of sight and saw Minty and Gypsy, both of whom seemed to be asleep. "You have history with them, don't you?" Xashowd asked Daenes calmly without looking at her. He didn't know if he'd get a response, but he just felt he had to ask.
