killsteal did not like to run. He liked hunting, thank you very much. But there was only so much even a berserker could do against a monster that could clearly cleave him in two if he just stuck it out like a macho man.
It didn't mean it hurt his pride any less, though.
Slapping at his pocket card to stop alerting him in grave tones about his HP, the gryphon hightailed it as the jabberwock began its assault.

Rhythm wasn't surprised when the monster that was chasing her started to attack everything and anything, unfortunately it made it all that much harder to doge the raging beast and she got hit by flying debris form its rampage. The further he ran, the less noisy his pursuer became; this wasn't a good sign, honestly.
Instead he began to hear voices. Family.
It was a good thing killsteal was already ingrained with the reaction to run from those voices. He didn't stop for a moment, focusing his attention on that which laid ahead instead of that which laid behind.

Rhythm was running as fast as she could but it was hard with all the stuff flying around, she felt claws rip through her and everything faded for a second before the Second chance card activated. [part 5, try 3] Finally it seemed that the ordeal was over, as a bit more light began to shine through the trees and the heavy footsteps slowed before ceasing all together. She glance back over her shoulder for a moment to find the creature was no longer chasing her and let out a sigh of relief while still keeping up a decently paced jog. No point in slowing down completely, and getting to a safe place to relax for a tad was next on the list. As before, Mercurial ran and ran until the only sign that the Jabberwocky continued to follow were its footsteps in the distance. She pressed on, ignoring the friends' voices that offered increasingly tempting promises behind her. After all, the Jabberwocky's teeth had closed in on her twice already.
If she had to be eaten whole again (and she fervently hoped it wouldn't come to that), it wasn't going to be for trusting the voices one more time.

The jabberwock was really rampaging now, though he kept his cool and continued at a lope. Debris was leapt over, fallen trees screeching in panic as he left them to die. Or be crushed. Coudl trees honestly die here? Could anything?
