Igny knew what she had to do. She took a few steps back, then bolted forward, leaping upwards and shooting down at the same time. Though she certainly wasn't a good enough jumper to land herself over the wall, it at least created an opening she could sneak through to get to the other side.
Once on the others side, she turned and shot the figures from their confused backs, nailing them all down. The deed was done. She could continue.

Limbs formed in the fog in front of her. Though Igny was screaming inside, whatever facade she'd taken on was not.
Without hesitation, she leapt into the mist, ignoring the strange finger-like creatures coming for her. A hand snapped over her mouth, but she ignored the difficulty. It was nothing. She could continue.

She flung her weapon at him. Probably not a good idea, but she was able to fight him off a little longer.

A hand reached from the mist, wrapping around one of her legs and pulling. Gravity returned to her tenfold as she slammed into the ground, chin bumping against the cold grey.
Nonetheless, Igny stood up. She couldn't stop for a peasant's trick. She had a duty.

Another hand clapped over her mouth. Igny tore out of this one with a new fervor. The insanity was growing stronger, but Igny didn't falter.
Her adventure had an end goal.

Eyes appeared all around her, then faded into the fog. Igny wondered if she'd seen it at all. Perhaps it was a figment.
Oh well. If it wasn't opposing her, Igny didn't care. She just needed to make it to the bottom.

She gestured towards him to come forward, to attack first. She waited until he came towards her. And she took her position.
She lunged towards him. She was able to strike him, but not enough to make him falter.

Finally, a platform appeared. It looked sturdy enough, so Igny leapt.
Once more, that which she thought was safe was not. It crumbled under her feet, giving way to a free descent. She remembered this part as peaceful, absolute.
When she finally touched down on the checkerboard, Igny felt a sense of frigt overcome her. The resolve had disappeared and the real Igny had returned. She fretfully slapped her hands on one of the bulbs and ran away before anything else could scare her.
