Gene's face dropped momentarily, grimacing at the thought of country music. Jack, that seemed so...hokey. Then again, the bluegrass and folk music she listened to kind of stemmed from that...
Augh.
"Yeah, that's a yes. Country music it is." She nodded, giving him a half-hearted smile. So this is what she got when she teased her boilfriend's love of the West.

Jove was embarrassed himself, but he remembered Amarus, and it made his chest feel light seeing how surprised and happy the position made her. Maybe that was supposed to be the intended reaction, not dreading the moment the spotlight found him in the crowd? Not wanting to crawl under a table despite his fancy clothes? She looked beautiful though, definitely not the sort to crawl under a table... He nodded, in response to both his questions, and bowed his head in a very gentlemanly fashion. He had been younger. Well, he could argue they had all been younger, had he been inclined to argue, but it was true there weren't many students who would simply appear several years older. The added height was a definite perk though! With the embarrassing part over, all they had to do now was dance. And that, he was good at. He took her hand in his own gloved one, and led her down to the dance floor, ears perked around the princely crown as if to silently ask 'any music preferences?' Face your demons It is okay Jove is a pro at this game. XD If you don't have any music thoughts, perhaps something classy and Halloweeny, like Danse Macabre? =D

Mot smirked, looking as though he'd won a small battle. "Woooonderful~ I've got some of the most countriest country CDs this side of Halloween. I'll make sure to make it a real Hoot'nanny~" Oh yes. He was going to make you squirm, Gene.

Mjoll chuckled as the girl looked at her feet. "Once you get the hang of it, it's best not to look at your feet duckling." She gave a small chuckle as she continued to lead.
"It's one of the few dances I know, Waltz is something best for slow dances. Probably one of the easier ones too. Maybe next time I can show you something like the foxtrot."
Her back wings twitched as she gave Olivia a little spin.

Yeah, she would definitely vomit if she had a stomach. Gene gave a soft groan, resigning to the fate of learning to dance to awfully cheesy music, burying her face in Mot's shoulder, while occupying the other with a massaging hand. "You're quite the evil person when you want to be." She pouted, continuing to rub his shoulder. Not fair at all.

"Evil? Me?" Mot answered innocently, running a hand over Gene's hair, as if he was showing her sympathy for her plight. "There, there, Geeeeeene~" He crooned, swaying her side to side. "Everything will be okaaaay~" Except why was he smiling? "Just let the good old west soothe that tired soul~"

Over You finished and Roch was feeling good--until a gnome whispered in his ear a song request--then he groaned, got up, got a drink, and stared at his bottle for a moment before talking to the band. Then, very pointedly, he pointed at Nahm to sing this one, too.

Amrita drifted away from Christof after hearing the announcement over the PA system - Yes, Prom was indeed winding down. It was sad, but hey...everything had to come to an end, right? The ghoul had every intention of doing some actual socializing at that point...and she would have too, if she hadn't caught sight of one of Mort's dolls.
It found her.
Oh Jack it found her!
The ghoul fled as fast as her righted feet-in-heels could take her, and scrambled behind the nearest person she could.Quote: Save Amrita from Mort's doll! First person to quote me will become her hiding spot - and you will receive a token of her appreciation!

Willow was wondering why Amrita was running. Her ears perked up and her head tilted curiously. "Is something wrong?" She tried to ask as Amrita ran past.

Ah! Willow!
The Patchwork skidded to a halt, grabbing onto the ghoul and using her as a meat shield. "Shhhhh don't let it see me!" She begged in a panicked whisper, trying to make herself as tiny as possible behind her newfound saviour. The Doll - which looked suspiciously identical to the Patchwork, only pint sized and bald - trotted on past for now, taking only a passing glance at the Tiger ghoul.
"Whew." Amrita sighed heavily once the doll was out of her sight. "Thanks, Willow! That thing wants my hair. I'm going to smack Mort for this." She cast a glare in the Puppeteer's direction, and then turned back to Willow once more, pulling something out of her sleeve.
"Here, take this, and my gratitude!" She handed the item to Willow, and then regarded the ghoul with a smile. "How's prom going for you so far? Meet any nice boils yet?"LP Willow receives four tickets! Link back to this post as proof in the Prize Claim thread!

"I'm watching your feet," Olivia explained. But now the steps were getting a lot easier, a little more naturally so she pulled her eyes up along with her happy grin. This was very fun, something new. It was almost like being given something. Information, a skill. Something to use.
And being told she could learn new dances was very exciting, her eyes widened and seemed to glow a little brighter at the idea and she hoped that Mjoll would be able to show her some of the others eventually. Tonight maybe? How amazing would that be? But for now the waltz, nice and simple. Made for slow dances. Information to be kept for now and later.
The little ghoul giggled as Mjoll pushed her into a spin, circling back towards the horsewoman. Her feet missed a few of the steps upon return, losing the beat just a little.

"Err...thanks. Lottie short for something?" It was only fair to ask, right? ...Right? Mac caught the look she gave into the crowd, but when he followed her look, he didn't see anyone; the crowd had moved as he did, obscuring his vision of his not-really-but-sort-of ghoulfriend.
"Err...kay, cool." She was already pulling him onto the dance floor, and once they were settled he took her hand and placed his other one on her waist, starting to lead in a simple dance. "Are you new here?" Small talk was dumb.

Bastion had escorted Sophie reputably well for the majority of prom, and nothing had gone wrong yet. It was empowering, to know he could do this without completely falling apart. He was proud of himself. And he was thoroughly enjoying the night that the student had concocted for their celebration. It left him feeling like there was a chance, however small, that life was going to unravel it's tight knots and straighten out in the end. And then he saw Mjoll on the dance floor, and all the knots tightened at once. No, he told himself. Things were going to be better, now. He didn't have to be that .. that.. his face screwed up in self-disgust. He didn't have to be him anymore. He was just like any other stallion now. Any other proud, confident, capable stallion. He spent quite a good few minutes trying to convince himself of that obvious lie, before he decided to act on it. "Pardon me, ladies." When had he taken those steps onto the dance floor? He couldn't remember at what point he'd decided to move. He was just there, suddenly, tapping on Olivia's shoulder softly. "Please forgive my rudeness, and if you wish it, send me away without guilt, but if it's all the same to you," His eyes had been on Olivia the entire time, because it was easier to speak if he didn't look at Mjoll. In fact, he thought he was doing very well. A gentle smile graced his features as he bowed to them both. "May I interrupt you for just one dance with Mjoll? I promise to return her to your hands as soon as the song has ended." Still not looking at Mjoll. Still not looking at Mjoll. You could do this, Bastion.

"It's short for Charlotte. But only Mum calls me that when I've been slacking on chores." She said with a grin, all too readily laying her hands behind Mac's neck for the dance. Take that, Hel."Yeah! I'm pretty new. Got here a little less than two months ago~." The ghoul smiled cheekily, her grin almost childish in nature. "My family makes tainted sweets! Great for Halloween Day catering, yanno? Wha'chu wanna be when ya "grow up", Mac?"
