[Amy : LoD : Outside the Red Rose -> Red Rose]

Amy willed her weapons away. Guns were of no further use here, although she was getting very used to their weight in her hands. When Cloud had been kneeling she was afforded an opportunity to snipe Sephiroth in the back of the head. She didn't fire, remembering well what happened to the Invalice person.

She caught sight of him now, as the red glow of Kyla's summon–was that Carbuncle?–enveloped all of the wounded. He was tall, like most of the males here, with blue eyes, and seemed to hold no love for Sephiroth. Justifiable, considering he had just fried half of him in flames. She gave him no further thought, turning to following Cloud up the ramp.

Sephiroth was gone, and it was past her bedtime. Oh, sweet, sweet sleep. How she longed for it. She could sleep for days, for weeks. Cast healing spells all you like, it didn't ease the mental fatigue she was feeling, and had been feeling since Kurt Zisa. She followed after Cloud, close on his heels; she wasn't going to risk getting lost. They passed the Chocobo Stables, up some stairs to a Kitchen area, a Lounge, along a long deck with a great view that she hardly noticed, another hallway with closed doors (bathrooms), and finally, oh thank goodness, a set of stairs leading down to the beds. Cloud said as much, told her to get some rest, and headed up a nearby flight of stairs to what could only be the bridge. She walked like a zombie down where he had told her, and flung herself on the first bed she could see.

[Kyla: LoD: Outside > Inside Red Rose]

It was finally over. Yet even as the danger passed, it cast it's deep troubling shadow over her heart. Guilt bit at her where it knew it could find the cracks in her resolve. No matter if everyone was safe and healed, all of this could have been easily avoided. She had caused unessessary pain to others. Cloud, Kyle, Kichi, Jon, Nick, everyone.
Even fi she got them back to the Red Rose, it wasn't enough in her mind. The bitter taste of his mistake didn't go away.

' You're doing. They said to go- but you stayed. And feeling responsable, they stayed as well. You're shameful, and selfish. You could easily get them all killed.
That voice in her head sounded dangeriously like Kai's.

She let Kichi help her, but Kyla insisted on walking on her own, just... let her grip his arm for stability. She thanked him, but aside from that, she was very quiet. The weight of her thoughts evident in her eyes.

She almost didn't realize it until they moved passed the stables, where 'The General' actually kwee'd at her! The General was transfered? Up till now Kyla hadn't really chosen a Chocobo, she just shared that old ones stall once.. it never occured to her that The General had chosen her instead.

It was when they went through the kitchen area, passed the Lounge and along the Deck, did she reconize the ship! The first game she ever owned- it had to be! So they meant THE RED ROSE!
Kyla would have been thrilled if not for the guilt still bitting at her, using everything as another thing to poke her with.

"-should apologize..." she muttered out loud without meaning to.

Tyue who had followed after them once she finished healing the group, was padding along the floor beside them. Her ears perking up as she felt her aibou's selfcontrol slipping and letting some of her true feelings peek through.

[Kichi :: Red Rose]

"You sure?" he asked Kyla as she only accepted the smallest amount of help, but she was apparently insistent. He let her use his arm as they walked aboard, and thanked Amy as she passed them by, as he had forgotten to earlier for the healing. As they walked past the stables, he noticed the chocobo kweh-ing. He smiled.

He walked Silently with Kyla, as they passed through the ship. That is, until he heard her saying something about apologizing. "Huh?" he said dumbfoundedly. He thought back about what she could apologize for, making his troubles in putting two and two together very readily apparent. 'She helped immensely in the Kurt Zisa fight, as well as the Sephiroth fight. If it weren't for her, we may not have- Oh...it's prolly that she insisted we stay...'

He stopped walking and looked at her. "If...if I'm right about what that would be for...there's no need. Hell, even if I'm wrong, I don't think there's need." He smiled at her. "You made the most responsible decision you could have made with the information given. And besides that..if it weren't for your help...well, there probably would have been casualties. Actually...if anything, I want to thank you. You've worked so hard to help everyone out... to the point where...you can barely stand. The fact that even after so much effort, you want to apologize for a mistake you had no way of knowing to avoid...It's amazingly selfless." He smiled at her. "I...I look up to you. You...think of everyone...and everything. If anything, rather than you saying sorry...I want to say thank you for your effort and assistance." He had never let go of her arm from when she had been using him for balance, but now he took his other hand, and offered it to her, palm up. "Let's get you a bed to rest in. You definitely need...and deserve a good rest."

At this point...he was trying his absolute best not to get flustered. He was never good at talking with girls, and the fact that his emotions were running out of control only made it harder to do so. But he had to keep calm.

Maybe it was because so much had happened. A lot of things were on her mind, eating at her from various angles. Maybe she was as tired as Kichi said, maybe more.
Perhaps it was stress; the danger, the tension, the surprises, the loss...or some nasty combination of it all.
Whatever the reason, Kyla's emotions betrayed her, and reached a breaking point thanks to Kichi's kind words.

Maybe he was just too kind.

To coin the phrase, ' Killing with kindness'- defending against a brash cold shoulder, like Cloud's, would have been easier. But instead Kyla's resolve poped at it's seams in the fact of softer things like these.

Within moments her face cracked, and firmness turned into a mess.

"..A..Alright!" She said, a sob escaping free of the iron clad hold she had on herself.

"I- *sniff* " She smiled inspite of herself, thinking how silly and childish she must be looking. If people saw her this way, they'd never take her seriously again!
She was trying so hard to look like someone who was unshakeable. A rock. So that they could trust her when things got really bad... now Kichi would most likely look down on her from then on.

"I'm sorry...I mean," she tried again, taking his hand with one while rubbing her eyes with the other. " Rest..sounds like a wonderful idea."

'...oh Aibou.. you really are tired neh?

Good thing Amy had retired by then...

[Kichi :: Red Rose :: Deck -> Sleeping Quarters]

Kichi saw her start to sob and his face immediately turned worried. "Aw crap, I said something wro-" Then she took his hand, and immediately, his smile returned. "Absolutely. Let's get you to a room." And with that, he led her the final stretch to the sleeping quarters. He looked into the first door, to find Amy sprawled on the bed in there. "Heh....appears this one is taken." He said quietly, and looked in the next one. Upon finding it empty, he led her in and helped her over to the bed. "Sleep well." he said reassuringly. "Let's talk in the morning. I....I'd like to know you better." He smiled at her warmly, before pulling the covers up for her, and walking out of the room.

As he exited, it hit him just how tired he was. His legs ached, his arms ached. His whole body was just out of energy...as was his mind. He needed rest...at this point, more emotionally than physically.

[Kyla: Red Rose]

It was easier now. Just letting Kichi lead her like a blind man being walked across a street. The sight of the sprawled out Amy made her giggle, and with every step following her limbs felt heavier and heavier. She was practically posable like a doll by the time Kichi helped her into bed and pulled the sheets over her. The moment she lay back, her dressphere responded and shed the outer layering robes, leaving only the white slip, very reminicent of Namine's dress underneath.

Kichi's face swam in her vision as it hazed over. Her lids slid shut over her eyes, swllowing her up into a peacful abyss while his final words sent her down into sleep.
"Let's talk in the morning. I....I'd like to know you better."

A smile and a nod would be the positve reponse.

At the door when he exited, something soft and furry rubbed acros shis ankle like an affectionate cat. It was the summon carbuncle, Tyue. Her eyes smiling up at him, her tail swaying back and forth.

" You're a good person Kichi. That's why she'll try very hard for you. She wants you to reply on her."

The creature circled his feet once, twice, then pushing off her feet, took to the air like some weightless leaf caught in an updraft. She floated there before his face, just staring into his eyes for a moment.
"Tough times ahead. Sleepy time for you."
Then she leaped right through the door and into the room. Once she landed on the bed, Tyue curled up next to her partner. The little tops of her antenna glowing dimly in the dark.

[Nick :: Outside Red Rose > Inside Red Rose]

Nick couldn't help but give a small smile as Carbuncle, or something that looked like Carbuncle heal his injuries. He moved inside the large ship, locating an empty room before shutting the door and letting out a frustrated roar of rage and spite.

Sephiroth would not get away with his attack. He would meet his end upon my blades, and I shall carry his head around like a volleyball for me to beat senseless whenever I am stressed out. I don't know what to do, but I can guarentee this, Sephiroth. Next time we meet in battle, I'll be walking out of there with your head cut clean from your shoulders. The Lanista thought to himself, the bitterness and anguish from that attack still lingering on him. He let out another roar, kicking the wall before crashing on the bed and falling asleep.

[Kyle/Tyue: Red Rose: Sleeping Quarters]

The ruckus Nick was making next door wasn't enough to completly wake the exhausted pictomancer, but it made her shift in bed, burying her cheek into the pillow.
On the other hand, her summon, displeased her partner's precious rest was being disturbed, growled and dropped down from the bed. Scampering like a cat across the floor, she passed through the wall into the quarters adjacent them.
There he was, in a tangle of sheets, with a very displeased look on his face.
The carbuncle's tail twitched irritably back and forth while staring at him, wondering if he would wake and continue his temper tantrum.. if so, she'd have something to say about it.

[Nick :: Red Rose Sleeping Quarters]

Nick is a light sleeper. Especially so when something is staring at him. The eyes peering at his very soul...Okay, a bit dramatic, but it still creeped out the guy. He awoke, forgetting the light was still on in his room. As he looked around the small living quarters, he noticed something that wasn't there before.

Carbuncle. Or it looked like a Carbuncle. Blue green fur, the large eyes, floppy ears...The whole she-bang. He raised a brow, and reached over his bed with arms extended. Nick continued to stare at the creature before uttering a simple question.

"...Do you want up, little one?"

[Tyue/Carbuncle :RedRose: NicksRoom]

The summon's ears perked up. Was she being greeted like some kind of pet? Not surprising.
Out of all the summons in assortment around the earthlings, she was one of the smallest.
At least... the more likely to be mistaken for an exotic domesticated creature. Of course Nick probably knew what she was, but the summon humured him.

Trotting closer, the blue tinted furball came towards Nick's extended hands. Sniffing his finger tips first, she pawed his hands curiously. Then stepped between them within his reach.

[Nick :: Red Rose Sleeping Quarters]

With a solid movement, Nick moved the rabbit...dog...creature onto his bed, and gently began petting its head gently. Carbuncle reminded of his yorkshire terrier back home, a small and lovable dog who loved to be pet. She loved getting petted on her little head, and Nick couldn't help but sigh in defeat knowing his little baby was a Heartless snack.

"So...Carbuncle. What brings you to my room? I would have expected you to be cuddling with that girl with the glasses. She seemed kind of cute, actually...Don't tell her I said that. Oh, you're a summon, you can't talk. Can you? Nah, you can't." Nick said, his 'conversation' rambling randomly.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 16, 2010 2:07 am

[Tyue: Red Rose: Nicks Room]

The petting was nice, she coudln't deny that. He must've had practice, he knew where to scratch behind her ears.
Whatever tension he ahd before, seemed to be fading away. Mundane things like this often did that, a sense of the normal and famliar. She listened to him talk, smiling inwardly at his innocent ramblings.

"Some can talk... some can't, other choose not to. Either way, you're secret is safe with me as much as it can be. Kyla and I were one, once upon a time- but now I can have my own secrets." was her audible answer.
Lifting her head to one side, her large eyes reflected Nicks face and exrepssion, whatever it was after her reply.

"I was mad at first, you were waking her with your kicking and screaming. I came to make sure you were finished.... but now... I see you're just as upset as she is. Just in a different way. So I forgive you."
He would hear the sympathy in that last part of the creatures cocnfession.
"This journey hasn't been easy, or kind to you has it? Will you be ok now?"

[Alan :: Red Rose Interior]

His anger abated, all that was left was the irritating sinking feeling in Alan's stomach. This whole day had just been a nightmare. There was so much he wanted to say, so much we wanted to ask, but it was becoming increasingly clear that the other earthlings had different priorities. Meanwhile, he was beginning to remember after so long in the wilderness why he hated crowds. With all these people, he really felt invisible. Especially now that Jon had stopped paying attention to him.

Alan had been the last person to enter the ship. He stood and watched as people boarded, one after another, including (weirdly) that random Ivalician the group had picked up earlier. Waiting for an invitation and realizing that none was forthcoming, Alan just silently entered behind everyone.

Alan wasn't remotely tired, and despite having not eaten in over a day now, he had no appetite. So, he walked to the deck, and just sat, perusing Jehuti and looking out at the city he was soon to leave.

He really didn't want to leave. That was probably also part of his general bad mood. To leave China - no - Fantasy Ancient China - almost as soon as he arrived, particularly to go to Hawaii of all places, was not something he relished.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 16, 2010 5:06 am

{Kyle : Inside the Red Rose}

Nodding his head in thanks to the tiny summon for the healing, Kyle silently followed after the others, one of the last to enter. However, Kyle wasn't really in the mood for sleep. He was still a bit too riled up from the fight just then. Heart still pounding and all that jazz. Kinda like when he played the Sephiroth fight in the first and second KH games for the PS2. Heart would continue pounding for several minutes before it calmed down. It'll probably take quite a bit longer for my heart to stop pounding now. Major difference between a game and reality. He thought to himself as he began to wander the ship. Yet another problem of his. Unless he had mapped a place out, he couldn't do anything else. Exploring, after all, was incredibly fun. And he had never had anything as exciting as this to explore.

So he began to wander. Naturally, the first place was to the Chocobo stables. He was interested in them, but true interest in them would come later, possibly the next day. Not quite at the moment. At the moment, he was just browsing through the place. Following the stables, he ended up in various places. One had a look like it was meant for relaxing, Rest area? Lounge type thing? another that was obviously the kitchen, then up more stairs to...something. He wasn't entirely sure just what the room was used for. Hmm. I'll ask Leon or somebody. If they don't know, then it'll be mystery room. Moving on and downwards he passed the deck, catching sight of Alan chilling there, but the desire to sit and chat would have to wait. He had exploring to do.

Bathrooms, bedrooms, balcony, bridge(complete with a Cloud), then...nothing. He'd seen everything. Explored everywhere. Had a general feeling as to what everything was. Save the mystery room. Passing back, intending to go back to said mystery room, Kyle had a stop to make. Bathrooms. It'd been a long day. He had to pee.

Upon relieving himself, he passed once more by the deck. And saw Alan still sitting there. Granted, it hadn't really taken him that long. A few minutes at most to explore the ship. Changing his mind, he walked into the deck and sat down near Alan. Not directly next to him. That would probably have been annoying. Still, he did want to talk with him. Get to know him. Granted, that's how he felt about everyone. Hell, as far as he knew, they barely knew each other. They were all fighting together with the only common bond being that they were from Earth. Time to change that. Well, if Alan let him. "So...been a long day, neh?" He said, not really questioning him. That could come later, should Alan decide to respond.

[Kichi :: Red Rose :: Sleeping Quarters]

Kichi looked down at Tyue. He smiled tiredly...but there was hints of other emotions seeping into the smile. Worry, sadness, anger, depression...it was changing rapidly, as much as he tried to keep it under control, he hadn't the energy to do so. Finally, he sighed. "I try to be a good person. However...whether she desires it or not...I'll probably end up relying on her anyways."

He wandered into the next unoccupied room, and collapsed on the bed. However, it quickly became readily apparent that he couldn't sleep. He'd need to be more at peace. Finally, he sat up cross legged, and put his hands on his knees. "May as well try..." He said, before closing his eyes and attempting to meditate.

He had to find a piece of calm in the raging sea of emotions. He had to find the eye of his storm, and spread its reach as far as he could.

Fortunately, it worked for now. "I'll talk to Alan and Kyla tomorrow..." he mumbled before lying down and passing out.
