keichaos What? Tell you about our world? Hmmm... What is it like in the Philippines? Oh! Tropical! (On some parts!) In the non-rainy season, the Philippines is a tropical country. The beaches are quite beautiful if I do say so myself and we have quite the unique culinary treats. In the rainy season, you'll soon feel how close the Philippine islands are to the sea. Floods are a common sight, as well as landslides. The cities can become flooded in a matter of hourse depending on the intensity of the storm-- we experience a heck of a lot of storms in one year. Despite this though, rainy days are my most favourite kinds of days.

Yeah! Exactly what Dante said! We get battered a lot of storm... some part only though... Oi, Dante, di kami kaya tinatamaan dito sa Palawan! loko ka! Anyways, yes, we only have 2 seasons: wet and dry... XD
Hard to admit even to myself, but yes, our biggest cities drown up easily in storms... Ahahaha! And the reason why we're close to the seas because most of our ancestors are either into agriculture or fishing... Samin dito sa Palawan Dante, dagat eh...

I'm currently in Manila-- which is the Capital of the Philippines-- for my college studies. It's safe to say I was surprised how many times the roads to my school were flooded.
My hometown, Bicol-- near the famous Mayon Volcano-- got hit my the thyphoon Reming and Milenyo sometime in 2006-2007, it was devastating to say the least. Countless homes were lost because of the landslides, note the houses weren't crushed by landslides, rather they were on the land as it was saturated by the flood until it came crashing down. The Mayon also contributed to the disaster because the storm caused the land near it to slide down its peak. My dad said he hates the volcano 'cause its so destructive, but I find it to be both beautiful and destructive.

Oh! My mom came from there! Taught me few words like "Ayam" and "Dai"... But never got the chance to learn the whole Bicol dialect (Philippines has more than 170 languages aside from the main Tagalog)... Anyways, Mayon really did a number in Bicol, huh? Sad... sad
