"Well...."

Lin tried to think about what she had been told, she had been told a lot of stories about her Mommy and Daddy.

"Well.... Mommy and Daddy met a long time ago, and when they went thier own way they didn't see each other again for a long time. Daddy found out that, Mommy was working at a school. So she has a lot of students and a lot of paperwork to do, but she still had all of us kids that's what Feng and Ryu said. Triton said, that one day when Mommy was very very over worked she fell asleep at her desk, and when she woke up there was Daddy doing her paperwork for her. He told her that she had hired him to be her assistant, and since he was doing that while she was sleeping, she thought it was true and that she just forgot that she did hire him."

Lin giggled at that.

"But that wasn't true at all, Mommy didn't hire him, he hired himself and whenever people asked why he did something or why he was always there he would always say. Well I'm her assistant, that's what I do."

"Aw, that's sweet," Celeborn grinned. "Your father and your mother must have something very special. It's always something special when it goes like that."

He looked up again. "It looks like it's going to rain ... perhaps we should go back inside, I don't have duty for a while."

Lin looked up at the sky, it did look like the rain clouds were getting bigger, "Yea, I wonder if we're going to get big puddles tomorrow then..."

She liked puddles, maybe she could find a leaf to float then or maybe there would be worms to watch if they came out.

"If it's a storm like we sometimes get out here, the puddles are going to be enormous," Celeborn nodded, heading back towards the barracks. "I just worry for your father and Halmir, and the children they're with, then ... though they're far enough away from here, perhaps they won't get the rain after all."

He opened the door and headed into the darkness.

Lin nodded, being stuck out in the rain can't be fun unless you want to be. Though she had never been outside in the rain doing anything before. She was blinded for a moment by the darkness, it would take a while for her eyes to adjust.

"As long as it doesn't thunder."

Celeborn coughed. "Um ... there will probably be quite a bit of thunder, and it gets loud," he told her apologetically, making his way upstairs. "If you'd like, Haradhel could sit with you in the cellar of the house, it's underground, you won't hear much down there."

He made his way up the stairs and towards his quarters, opening the door and stepping inside.

"Pardon the mess," he apologized, setting Lin on the floor and closing the door behind him. "Make yourself comfortable."

"I like being inside when there's thunder," Lin murmured as she looked around the roomm, at least at her size she wouldn't trip over anything, "But not outside."

Naturally being outside would be unpleasant, but being outside in a thunder storm even more so.

"Sometimes it doesn't feel any different from being outside," Celeborn told her, heading over to the shelf at the end of his bed and picking up a flint and steel set. He lit some candles that were set about the room so that there was some light before putting them back and heading over to a cupboard.

"Especially if you're on an upper floor of a building, it gets a little scary," he went on. "The wind sometimes sounds as if it's moving the entire building, even though you know it's solid."

Lin wrinkeld her nose, she wouldn't like that at all, but Gaia had not had any real serious storms like that. Then again Lin was young, so she hadn't really experience the full extent of nature yet.

"I wouldn't like that," she murmured watching the candles.

"I don't know why," Celeborn murmured, taking something from the cupboard and heading back over to Lin, "but this area seems to get the worst storms out of anywhere in the Four Lands. I've never seen storms like we get here anywhere else."

He was holding a little pouch, and he opened it and held it out to Lin. "Candy?"

"Thank you," Lin replied as she reached in to take one.

At her size it was the size of her fist and she wouldn't have been able to pop it into her mouth so she ended sucking on it like a lolly. She smiled happily at it, she never did need much candy to keep her happy because of her size.

"Yum... you like sweets too huh?"

Her Mommy wasn't much for sweets, unless it was baked and her Daddy didn't like sweets in general unless it was this type of candy she had never heard of or if it was her Mommy giving it to him.

Yukito though was another kettle of fish all together.

Celeborn grinned and closed the bag. "Very much," he replied warmly, returning the pouch to the cupboard he had gotten it from. "Every time Ulrich goes to the city, I ask him to bring me back some. He's good at picking the good kinds - though I suppose that comes from having children who also like candy."

"My brother is very good at picking out candy, but he loves sweets," Lin giggled looking up from her piece, "He always has candy hidden somewhere."

Which was funny since candy was the most unhealthy thing anyone could possibily eat large quanities of. Though Yukito didn't seem at all effected by it

Celeborn smiled. "You have quite a few brothers, don't you?" he asked, taking a seat on the edge of his bed. "Though I would imagine that your world has a much larger supply of sugar. It's hard to come by here, it can be pretty expensive."

When Lin thought about it, it made sense didn't sugar need good warm places to grow.

"Probably," she replied.

After all she never could imagine sugar being expensive it was easy for her to get a hold of compared to other things. At least at her age anyhow, still she liked the candy here too, and she liked Celeborn's company.

It would be his company she would stay with for the rest of the day. Though as the days wore on, Lin waited for her father to return while her twin siblings spent their days learning and adventuring with Aliya.
