When it looked as though both of the children had finished eating, Daeron stood again.
"Ready, then?" he asked them, holding his hands out to Lin so that she could get a ride there.

"Ready!" Celebor said brightly, hopping off his chair and wiping the milk from his upper lip with the back of his hand. "Where do we gotta go? Is it far? Is it big? How long does it take to get up there?"

"Ah! Ready," Lin murmured as she crawled onto Daeron's hand.
Though she wondered how to answr all of Celebor's questions, especially when she had told him she hadn't made it up there yet. After all it was a very, very... very tall mountain.

Daeron put Lin up on his shoulder, then took Celebor's hand and brought the two of them out of the Dining Hall and towards the castle's back doors.
"It's not very far," he told Celebor patiently, "but it's a long way up. You'll see when we get there, all right?"
He wasn't used to endless chatter at all anymore - it wasn't that he minded or anything, but there was really no point to answering questions that would be answered anyways in just a little while.

Celebor nodded and closed his mouth obediently, and skipped alongside Daeron as his cousin led the way towards the mountain.

"We won't see the top of the mountain going on our own power anyhow, not for a long while yet," Lin was more calm about it, but she had been up there and she knew if she was going to try by herself then she wasn't going to get all the way up there.
However if she got half way up there, then she would be happy because that would be very far, for her anyhow.

Celebor blinked up at Lin. "We won't?" he asked in a small voice, his green eyes opening wide.

"Well, you might be able to," Daeron smiled down at Celebor. "In fact, you probably could, if you keep a good pace. The steps are really big for Lin, though, so for her it's like climbing ... well, a mountain, for each and every step."

"Oh well..." Lin murmured, "It just means a better throwing arm for me."
Pity she couldn't throw things at a certain someone that would be nice, but it would be bad. Why where the things that would make her please as punch was bad?

"Throwing arm?" Celebor asked Lin in confusion. "What does that have to do with anything? I don't get it."
And he frowned softly.

"I have to push myself up using my arms," Lin explained, "And so I get a better throwing arm because of it. I can throw really far... for somoene my size because I lift myself up a lot."
She nodded with a grin.

"Oh, I see," Celebor nodded. "I think."
He paused to think about it carefully. "Then that means," he murmured, "that it won't help me to get a good throwing arm, because I won't have to climb like that because it will be just like normal stairs for me."
Hmm.

"It's good for your legs," Lin supplied, "Maybe you'll be a very good runner."
As long as no skull cracking was involved of course.

"I like running," Celebor agreed, puffing his thin chest out proudly and grinning. "Yeah, I'll work on making my legs stronger, then I'll e able to run really fast, just like Mommy does!"
He paused. "I don't know if Lore runs, though ... do you?" He glanced sidewise at Lin.

"I don't know... I don't even get to see him as much as you do," Lin pointed out.
Since Lore spent most of his time in the cafe and Lin had only visisted the cafe once in her young life. That was the day of the crack the skull incident.
