Renacide Ryouki, on the other hand, was always portrayed as better with the ladies and all-around more successful than his twin. I have to say... he sure isn't good with this lady. razz The only reason Rain's gone bonkers is 'cause 1) her personality was bound to change after the end of all the stuff and 2) I'm just bored and rping seriously just ain't really my bag that much anymore. razz I get a chuckle out of messing around with her. But don't worry, she's still stable... somewhat. razz Yeah, good luck joining back in, Sven. razz In like... another year or so?

Lol, knowing this rp and myself, it's likely.
By the way, Shenok, I like the Avi. It reminds me of the American show Avatar, which I was honestly impressed with, so that is a compliment. Don't take me the wrong way.
How long will this take? I mean, I don't want to rush things or nag, but an estimate would be nice. For the Arch that is.

Oh, man. Absolutely LOVE that show. Now M. Night Shyamalamadingdong is going to ruin it with a trilogy of live action flicks. razz
Really... I have no idea how long the arch will take to get done. If you really think about it, it might be never. razz

rekkaryuu I'm just bored and rping seriously just ain't really my bag that much anymore. Eh, I know how you feel there Rekka. S'why it took me so damn long to get active here again. It must some kind of requirement when you hit the 16-18 age range. Maybe as a natural counter to the ultra-seriousness phase people tend to go through when they're 13-15.
Course for me, it eventually got dozed over by the steamroller of Creative Writing Love. I loves me some writing. And since I kind of want to make writing my primary method of income during adulthood, I figure I oughta practice.

I realized after I made Someday that there's no feasible way serious RPs can work. No one can write serious stuff, they're always caught up on ideas of "cool" things, and instead of writing believable characters, they're forced into writing for just one, which makes them more attached to them, thus less willing to let them be just supporting characters.
Plus, the writing in these things is always just so jilted. It's impossible to make it natural sounding.

I have to disagree, rping maturity is purely based off of the players. Stating it as otherwise is just the inability to find a group mature enough and good enough to really write a story worth telling together.
I don't know if you guys have roleplayed outside of gaia, but on the other websites I've been on, roleplays achieve a depth and sophistication more advanced than some novels I've read. It's just a matter of finding the right group of players. If Gaia is the only place you've roleplayed, then that's probably why you have that sort of opinion.
Any who, I know the feeling. My RPing addiction dissipated at about sixteen, and that's when I disappeared from this website. The reason I still roleplay (I have over this past year, I've just avoided gaia biggrin ) is because developing characters together and manipulating stories as a group is better than just sitting around and playing video games or watching a movie. It's more mind stimulating and good creative exercise.
It all depends on who you find to roleplay with, and for Gaia, I've only come across one rp where real roleplaying took place... No offense, not this place, but I'm sure you guys agree on that one.
So no matter how old you get, don't dis roleplaying! You'll be discrediting the best thing since sliced bread! Or was that something else...
Not that I'm getting serious about this or anything... I just like a friendly conversation... or debate...

I agree with you totally. And I have not yet found a really deep here on gaia, A website called lavendereyes if a good one for deep rps and good roleplayers but they are far beyond my level. I just cann ot write that well for them and they are acually picky about who joins each thread and if you can not roleplay well enough they kick you out, But read the threadas and it is like you are reading a book.

I RP in chat rooms and AIM So I get what your talking about. I found a few other sites but there rp's don't make much scents when you try to get in it.

IM rps are really not that good, or at least I have never seen one that was deep since they are often shorter then normal. But I have been to a few sites wher I really go in deeper and created the character Shenok. Sorry guys shenok is my best character and he will never show his face here....

Gaia is the landfill of RPs, so yeah, I've RPed elsewhere. But since you just gave a vague description of these sites and I don't know which you're talking about or how they work, allow me to poke.
I'm assuming that on these sites you're referring to, they each control one or two characters at a time and write bigger blurbs than the posts here, correct? Because that's the most common form of "OH HO LOOK AT US BE SERIOUS" RPing I see, and while the writing may be good (or rather looks good), the focus is on one character for many many paragraphs, and is an absolutely atrocious way to write.
Pacing disappears in RPs, because each person takes a shot and writes what they want--of course within the confines laid down by the GM and all that. You'd have to have some incredibly ridiculous rules down or some intense editing or moderation to make it have any sort of constancy, especially if you're writing a gigantic tale with say five or ten people. I quite frankly doubt there is enough maturity on the Internet to spare for that.
