I agree; if it's not talking, it's tapping on something.

Percussionists. If not talking they tap on something. And the saxophones talk quite a bit.. All..3 of us.

I want to say the mellophones talk the most, but theyre so slick about it they dont get caught. They throw ripped up paper at people and crack perverted jokes at the clinician, but no one ever cares enough to tell them off. Bad Chibi! XD But during band camp, drumline talked the most. One day when we were warming up (excersing, not playing) we had to do ever so many things over and over because they wouldnt shut up. In the end the rest of the band was free to make thier way to the practice feild, and the drumline had to run laps

I don't remember if I replied to this already or not...
I play clarinet int he wind ensemble, and we sit on the very first row, so we can't really talk a whole lot. In our band, it's definitely the drummers who talk the most. (I have a weird thing with all my friends - if they can actually play the percussion instruments, then they can be called real percussionists. Drummers are the morons in the back of the band room that only think they're real percussionists.) I can't tell you how many times our director has stopped in the middle of class to yell at them to shut up. It's annoying.

In Concert band it's two of the Trumpets that talk the most. In Symphonic, it's tied between the Flutes and the Trombones (cuz they generally talk to each other)

Us Clarinets are quite a talkative bunch sweatdrop We always get caught. It might be our size too, more noticable when 14 people are talking compared to 6.

Tenor Saxes. Really sad for just three people, but maybe it's because all of the other instrument have a large number (like if two of the clarinets are talking and the other 10 aren't it's not much of a big deal).
