Shizuka stiffened when she heard that. She didn't want to face Hao, but there was no way in hell that she'd let a friend die.

Shizuka pointed an oversoul at Hao, now within view of th others. Yeah, he'd force Natsubo to a ritual that spelled death... over her dead body, that is.

Faust stepped forward. "Netsubo, sit down," he ordered. "Put the crystal somewhere out of sight and rest. Shizuka, the situation is under control. Please put your weapon away." he layed his hand on Opacho's forehead, and took out his stethescope. Listening to the child's labored breathing, he mentally ran through a list of possible diseases.

If he doesn't, we'll switch him to the antimalarial drug quinine." He turned to Netsubo. "OK, how are you feeling?"

Shizuka's oversoul flickered away, relieved that Netsubo was okay. She shot one last glare at Hao before checking to see if her friend was truly unharmed.

Shizuka gave a warm smile, completely opposite from the death glare she had just given moments ago. Her eyes soon turned to the sick child. Shizuka couldn't help but feel a little bit sorry for the kid. She looked like she was on the verge of death.
