She gave an undignified squeak as the wind buffeted her mane right up her nose. How embarassing. Shaking her head, she waited for the stallion to make his decision, following behind him quietly. "I don't mind it being steep. Anything's better than being assaulted by that wind." she muttered. "I don't think there's anything worse than being at the mercy of nature." she would have sworn that it was just going to pick her up and drop her ver the edge, if she'd been asked.
Then, it could have been newbie's jitters a bit too.

As the darkness consumed him, his eyes started to adjust quickly. Being in th darkness was nothing new and his eyes had already learned to adjust quickly to it. The tunnel started to slope slowly downward into the thick rock. Soon the wind outside was nothing more than a small draft and warm arm shot upwards from in front of them. "Some elements of nature, at least to me, are better than the others. So I wouldn't mind an assault of heat. As long as its not for too long. Though wind at this hight seems to be a lot colder."

Her eyes were not adjusting quite as fast. "I prefer chill." she murmured. Too much warmth is highly uncomfortable, stifling." luckily, so far this warmth was not painful. She closed her eyes, using it to try and make her eyes adjust faster. "Is there natural light anywhere in here? Or is it all dark, and I just have to wait until it adjusts?" her ears were swiveling, listening for the way that her hooves hit the ground to echo back, so as to keep her place, and keep from beating into a wall.

"Then I suppose we shouldn't take the one path in the fork in the road ahead. The one leads down into a...much warmer spot deep within the mountains." By now, he could quite easily see the two paths not too far ahead that split off from the one they were traveling now. The left glowed from deep within the mountain, while the other was still quite dark.
Turning his head to look back at her he raised a curious eyebrow. Guessing that her eyes still hadn't adjusted yet. "Occasionally there are strange stones embedded into the walls that give off a strange glow, along with some weird moss or fungus that does the same. Its best just to let your eyes adjust with time and not become dependent of alternative light sources. You'll be able to see better in no time."

She scowled. She wasn't used to feeling so slow. Fuzzy shapes could be made out- vague impressions of stones sticking out from the walls, and that damnable, teasing tail. She'd get it, eventually. Just a nibble. She wouldn't even draw blood. At least, not much. She snorted softly, listening to his words. "Did you say glowing moss?" Her voice was slightly incredulous. "And you don't have Others in here trying to gather the stuff all the time for their own uses?"

"Yes. Its odd and yet interesting all in the same. It seems to have adapted itself to living deep within the darkness." Valar gave a wicked grin as he glanced over his shoulder at the mare. Though not all too sure she would be able to see it just yet. "No lessors have gotten this far to discover such things. And none probably ever will."
As he reached the fork in the path, he went to the right. Keeping clear of the extreme warmth of the left path. He would visit that area later. "Watch your head." A faint glow could be seen in the distance further up ahead.

Oh, she saw that gleam of sharp teeth, and laughed. "I see." she mused. "And is that because of unfortunate accidents?" She wanted to know where the bodies were hidden, really. She was starting to be able to see much easier, though she attributed that to the slight glow coming up from ar along the right path. "So, how do you not get lost in here? Are there many paths further in, or is it a fairly straightforward area?" She let him lead her, attentive to the landscape, such as it was.

Chuckling darkly, he gave a small snap of his tail to the left. "Of course. Very unfortunate accidents. Poor things never saw what was coming." By now they had drawn very close to the glow and soon glowing moss and the occasional stone lined the walls of the tunnel. Giving everything quite a very eerie glow. "There is a fairly complex network of paths in here. All of which I've probably traveled many times. But this one is pretty straight forward with the occasional branched path here and there."

She could see much better than she could see before, probably due to that creepy moss. "It is awful inconvenient that they wandered into places they can't fight their way out of." she made a small tsking noise. Her attention was drawn to the area around her though, and the useless creatures were tossed out of her head. Corpses were corpses, no longer a valid source of annoyance, especially when she'd likely never met them while they lived. "And where does this path lead to?" She asked, glancing down the paths that branched off, trying to see if there was a common area they connected to, or... Where did they go? Zulimar built her mental map patiently, listening to the stallion in front of her. Certainly, the conversation was pleasant. Not something she'd expect from others of any kind after this long in conversation.

A devilish grin spread across his lips. So wide it made his eyes squint momentarily as he continued to travel down the path. A brief pause in the conversation as his mind back tracked into the past. "Inconvenient for them perhaps. Nothing more than vermin caught in a trap. Ripe for the plucking." His mouth started to water as a dark tongue brushed against the back of his teeth.
"The ground. At least the majority of the way down. Where it comes to we can easily just glide down the short side of the mountain and continue on our way. Unless...you wish to explore other paths?" Valar turned his head momentarily to glance behind him. Raising a questionable brow.

She couldn't see the gin, or she might have laughed. "Convenient for you. Easy hunting." Young, curious foal, perhaps? Or old, aged grissel? One sounded delicious, certainly, but the other was not so appealing.
"I am just following you." she said finally. "I am most curious as to where you are leading me. I can always and come back later to explore, with your permission." Even though... the mountains weren't technically his, he'd marked them clearly enough in her mind as 'his' territory that she would make sure she had his permission (or at the least his goodwill) before haunting the passages without an escort.

The stallion let out a quick, short breath of a laugh. "Heh. I already told you where I'm taking you. Down. Eventually we'll get to the point of no return as it will be probably too steep for you to climb back up." The spaded end of his tail twitched for a second before he lurched to the side and down another path way.
"But if you insist on following me...alright then. Just try to keep up." His wings squeezed tightly against his back as this path way grew a bit narrower than the previous one. Tiny bits of moss fell from the walls as the tips of his wings brushed against the walls faintly.

Her eyes narrowed, and she gave a little hiss of annoyance at his phrasing. As if he could take her down anyways... Zulimar was nothing if not (over?)confident in her abilities. But she chose to ignore the insult inherent in his words, and tucked back her wings. "You were the one who led me here." she reminded him silkily. "If you didn't intend on being my guide, what did you intend to do with me?"

Valarauco picked up her faint hissing noise and raised a brow as he moved along. Heh, had he struck a nerve somehow with his words? Oh well. It wasn't his intention and if she took it the wrong way well that was her problem.
"I know. But I'd figure maybe you'd like to decide which way to go instead of me picking every avenue of adventure all the time." The path way had widened now. Thankfully. He was starting to feel a bit claustrophobic. "Intend to do with you? I hadn't intended on doing anything with you really. Just lead you about I guess, give you a grand tour de france. Let you get your bareings. I may be cruel at some points but that doesn't mean I won't look out for one of my own kind. No matter how cold of a shoulder they have."

One ear perked in interest. "I would wander, but I really didn't see the use in doing so when you seemed so accomodating as to give a tour." she admitted finally. "I figured I'd get the tour, and then kicked out." As the path widened, she trotted up beside him to give a toothy grin. "And what exactly do you mean by cold shoulder?" her eyes narrowed. She had been quite courteous with this one. QUITE. She hadn't even tried to watch him bleed... yet.
