((i guess im going to bold whatever she says in bermudian.))

Can...dle? Kiandra peered past Paul and too her delight saw sticks of wax on fire. To see candles in real life... Walking past him she picked one up and said excitedly, "This is amazing! I've only seen candles in picture books. May i keep this one? You know...You sacred Mira and I very badly. We've never seen a human before. For you to show up so suddenly and waving that gun of yours around..." She shuddered slightly and caused some of the wax from the candle to land on her hand.

She exclaimed, "O my Vulcon! What the hell did this thing do to me?" Kiandra set the candle roughly on the ground and glared angrily at her at the substance that had dripped on her hand. Suddenly several dim green lights came on. Surprised, Kiandra said, "Oh...These must be the emergency lights...Paul," she turned to look at him, "What are you going to do? Flighters will find you in less than a week."

"You can keep it if you want, just be careful of the wa-" Seeing he was too late, he scooped it up carefully and set it back on the makeshift table, blowing it out as the room was suddenly illuminated green.

"What will I do? I don't know. If they find me, I'll fight my way out. If they don't, I'll find a way out of here. I don't know how or when, but it will happen. I'm not going to die here."

Bane yawned as he walked, able to see only due to the use of his spark, and quite sure he would escape any Flighters coming this way due to the darkness, when suddenly the emergency lights came on.

"CRUD!", He shouted, glancing around himself, before extinguishing his spark and sprinting full out up the tunnel. He could hear voices echoing up the tunnel, and suddenly an echoing scream of horror. He winced, quietly saying,"I should have known the lights would come back, and someone would find the body."

Mira stood. Her heart was calling her back home, just as it was when things had been pitch black. She knew Cirta would want to know of her whereabouts... But she just couldn't do it. She couldn't stand any more reminders of who she was supposed to be... Who she was about to work for. She felt the tender beginnnings of bruises at her throat, raking the coals of dislike towards the whole idea of becoming one of them.

Her thoughts drifted to the girl that had also encountered the human this morning. Kiandra... Now that she thought about it, she did remember her somewhat. They had even had a few friendly discussions together at work, mostly about what their parents did and how horribly long and gruesome their own job was. She wondered where she was now... Her eyes drifted down the tunnel as an idea formed in her head. Kiandra's parents were high up on societies levels, weren't they? Maybe they could pull some strings to get her out of this mess. She knew the general direction of her home... but there were so many houses in that general direction, she wouldn't even know where to start.

Well, it's better than going home, I guess. she thought as she began walking towards the point where Kiandra and her had split up after their encounter with the human.

Bane glanced behind him, running full out, at the sound of thudding foot steps. Thirty feet behind him were several Flighters, shouting for him to stop. He looked back in the direction he was running, and shadow stepped ten feet forwards, still sprinting full out, muttering,"Not much farther... Not much farther..."

He shadow stepped again, dropping directly in front of a ladder to the surface, begining to climb up it, the sounds of the flighters behind him steadily getting louder. Pushing the hatch open he grinned, and began to drag himself out, when he felt a hand wrap around his ankle. He gasped in surprise, and did the only thing he could to escape. He shadow stepped, ten feet off onto the surface, only to appear, with the flighters hand still wrapped around his leg. The flighter however, hadn't moved.

"CRUD!", he shouted, a tyrade of curses sliding from his lips, as he pulled the mans hand from his ankle, and began to run towards a building.

Kiandra rolled her eyes and replied dryly, "I'm beginning to see that you humans are rather dramatic." She walked over to the entrance of the hideout and said, "Well I'm going to go. I shall return tonight and bring you food and basic supplies. It is the least i can do." Without waiting she slipped out of the enclosure and began walking in the direction that her house lay. Skirting the area where she had run into that horrible Bermudian man Kianadra couldn't help but marvel at the difference the green emergency lights made. usually teh bermudian underground was as brightly lit as the surface but now... Shivering she moved faster and breathed a sigh of relief as she saw the tunnel that connected to the area where her house lay.

Out in the forest of Inateh, on the highest tree branch lies Daiku Darteh lulling himself to sleep staring at the stars...eye's gradually closing a flash back of his parents faces, quickly ran through his mind surprisingly sprung himself up in shock.seconds past as his shocked face turned to a sad, lost look as he looked up in the sky.
"mom...dad.....its been years since I had seen you two..."

and with that said he used his arms to thrust himself off the branch and into the stars with a sad smile on his face, decending to the ground at a high speeds and with one small thrust with his legs, he burst straight up back into the dark sky soaring with the clouds like a bird then dips down to the forest of Inateh flying through it evading the branches, afar....he sees Tech. laying on the loamy ground , as he closes in on it, grabs a branch with his tail and reaches his arm out to Tech., a light blue wave spews from his hand toward Tech. ascending it to Daiku's hand at massive speed. Daiku grabs it and flips off the branch on to the ground."i think its time to go home"
as Daiku lays his hammer on his shoulder, started walking towards the town of Inateh.

Bane was running flat out across the grass now, the screams of the man who had grabbed him swirling through the air, the thuds of other Flighters behind him. One of them seemed to be shouting something at him, but he wasn't listening anymore, his only thoughts on making it to safety.

"This is not my day!", he thought, as an explosion went off next to him, generated by one of the Flighters. One of them appeared in front of him, huge wings held wide, and Bane skidded across the ground, mud splattering as he barely slid beneath the winged being. He came up on the other side, pushing off with his hands, his grey eyes flicking to see a huge wing coming towards him.

"Crud!", He shouted as he was knocked back, skidding across the ground into another Flighter.

Bane looked up into the mans eyes, saying,"Any chance you'll let me go?"

Mira turned down another tunnel when the earth suddenly shuddered beneath her feet. She froze where she stood and inhaled as the lights flickered slightly. Oh, great... what could possibly happen now? She wondered if this was the usual predecessor to a collapsing tunnel... That would just be the perfect cap-off to today, wouldn't it...

Suddenly afraid for her life, she turned around and began walking back the way she had come. What was she doing here... she didn't have any idea where Kiandra was, there were Flighters all over the place looking for her, it would probably only be a matter of time before...

"Oof!"

She stumbled back, muttering apologies as she collided with something soft and human-shaped.

"I'm sorry, I just want to..."

It was then that she realized who she had run into. "Oh! Kiandra!... Are you okay? Um... Sorry, again..." she said hurriedly, stepping forward to help her if need be.

Now what? How exactly did one push forward someone's parents in a conversation? She stood there awkwardly, unsure of herself as always.

Justinius sat cross-legged on a streetside bench in Cirdor, his green eyes sparkling with interest as he looked at the darkened section of the city. What a day... two alarms, rumours of a human, and now a blackout? Oh, there go the emergency lights. Hideous shade of green, probably makes everyone look like a corpse.

"... probably going to--Justinius!" The fat little man sitting next to him tugged on the sleeve of his black leather jacket, trying to get his attention. "Are you even listening to me? This is important!"

"Oh, do keep your voice down, will you, Gaius?" Justinius drawled as he turned his attention back to his companion. "With all the Flighters running about, they'll know we're up to something, and they'd be right, and our plans would be blown to hell."

"Which is why you need to listen to me! This is the perfect moment, but you're sitting there looking at the emergency lights. Bet you're thinking of a better colour for them, too, but you need to focus!" Justinius flicked a piece of lint off of his grey jeans before nodding at Gaius. "We can move right now while they're trying to restore order. They're probably going to have their hands full, especially with this human business, so I say that now's your best shot!"

"Really? But I don't have any of my men with me..."

"At least one of the Volcans is there right now," and Gaius pointed at the large capital building that stood a few blocks away, "and I bet you anything that a lot of Flighters are gone. I've got all four of your sabres packed in a Compression Capsule, and who knows? You just might find Nigellus." He added the last word in a whisper and smiled when he saw Justinius's eyes light up.

Justinius looked into the other man's hand, saw a large red capsule and a black face mask. Before Gaius had time to blink, Justinius had begun walking towards the capital building, wearing the mask and adjusting the four swords that hung from the back of his waist.

Kiandra was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she didnt see the person walking towards her until she crashed into them. Jerking in surprise she tensed until she saw that the person was none other than Mira. Feeling pleased to see her new friend Kiandra waved aside her apologies and exclaimed happily, "Mira! It's so good to see you again! What are you doing here? Please, Let me take you to my home. It's so dark out here that anything could happen." Gently grabbing Mira's thin arm Kiandra began leading her in the direction of her home. She could hardly wait to tell her all that had happened.

The man's hand came down straight at Bane's face, and he rolled to the side, hearing the ground crack with the force of the Flighters punch. Grunting, he pushed himself to his feet, the winged Flighter landing behind him, saying,"Surrender or you will die for nothing, boy."

"That... Is what you think... DEVASTATE!", Bane said, sparks spraying from the tips of his fingers, exploding across the winged beings chest, flinging both Bane and the Super strength Flighter almost twenty feet. Bane landed feet first on top of the man's chest, shadow stepping away, and taking part of the Flighters chest with him.

Landing five feet from the man, he watched the blood spray into the sky, the mans screams echoing through the air. Bane shook his head, his hair waving, before holding his hand out, a single spark floating down, and incinerating the dying Flighter, in a small explosion.

Bane looked down at his arm, watching the blood trailing down his arm, from a cut in his shoulder, quietly saying,"What a waste... You should have given up after you found the first dead one."

He turned, and slowly began walking away from the two craters left by his explosive powers.

Mira smiled and allowed her lead away. Finally, a little progress... She decided to spend her time thinking about what to say. How would her parents help her, especially when they didn't even know her?

-=-=-=-=-

Nigellus sighed and hung his head as he stared at a tall screen. If a normal human had seen it, it would seem as if they were looking out a normal, large window at a normal human city, but this window was special. It was designed to see the Bermudian populous, living as if there was no dirt and concrete separating them all beneath the island's surface. Would he live to see this day? Reuniting with the humans was something he thought he would never see again. But now... Now that the humans were so different... perhaps it was possible.

He wondered if it was a mistake, telling the Flighters. They seemed to take the news so drastically different... He wondered if he had a few law-breaking vigilantes ready to take advantage of anyone the moment it seems like the apocalypse is at hand. Governments were hard to control when the land they ruled over crumbled beneath their feet...

A noise shook the elder from his thoughts. He turned slowly to face the person that had entered, stopping as recognition feebly entered his clouded mind.

Ilusia...

Her Volcan attire was designed differently to a female specification, her red shirt more of a fitted tunic than anything, the black v-shaped trim crossing her torso to wrap around her slimmed body. Her pants were slimmer in the hip and thigh as well, broadening out to skim the tops of her pointed boots. Her white hair, cut short and styled close to her angular, elvish features, created a striking contrast to her dark-colored attire.

"What is it you need, dear?" he asked, adjusting his glasses.

"There is more trouble, sir..." she said, her already murky-green eyes seeming to darken even further as she spoke, "The Lavans and Flighters are having trouble keeping order. The Bermudians want answers, and now."

Nigellus sighed. "As much as I would love to tell them... I still have not thought of a decent way how. How exactly do you break it to millions of people that the home they've known since the beginning of existence is falling apart at the seams?" A troubled smile folded his wrinkled face even more as he brought his hands together in front of his face. "I am at a loss, Ilusia. A very large loss."

The woman sighed, seeming to agree but choosing not to voice that opinion. She looked down, bringing her hand up to touch the star pendant that graced her collarbones. "It seems we are unanimous in our indecision, then..." she murmured softly.

"However, Ilusia, a thought struck me earlier today. I will choose not to disclose it with you or anyone else, though, until three things are done." a merry twinkle entered his eyes as Ilusia looked up quizzically. "First," he continued, "You will go out to the home of a Flighter named Cirta. His daughter, Mira Flighter, was set to replace him in the First Departure, but so far she has been unable to attend basic training. Bring her to me."

One of Ilusia's pale eyebrows arched in her puzzlement. But Nigellus was not yet done. "Second... there is another Bermudian running around, by the name of Kiandra Richter. I have heard that she is tied to the human sighting earlier today. I would appreciate it if you brought her to me as well.

He sighed. "And third... There is a boy brought to us by two Flighters. His name is Ian Deplech, and he is sitting in Interrogation Room 3 next door. He is a human, and must be brought to me as well."

"Wher do you think you're going?" A particularly large Flighter had seen Justinius approaching the capital building and apparently decided that he was bad news.

Justinius smirked, but his mask covered mouth completely; the arrogant gesture was lost on the other man. "I have business here. I'm to meet with a Mr..." He thought for a moment, trying to remember the name of any non-Volcan official. "... A Mr. Harlatz," he finished, thinking of the wormy, nervous little b*****d that liked to make things difficult for others.

"He's not in. Out on official business."

"Oh?"

"And you're not coming in, either."

"Oh. Oh, no, I'm sorry, but I really have to take care of things right now. Very important business, you see. Now, don't tell anybody else," and he leaned in to whisper to the Flighter, "but I'm here to kill any Volcan that I come across." He increased the gravity around the man, who blacked out after a few seconds. As he stepped over the fallen guard, he said, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a coup to start," and drew two of his sabres.

The building was a bit quieter than he expected, but it was one of those bureacracy-type things. He passed by a woman who was carrying a large stack of papers and asked her if perhaps Mr. Nigellus was in?

"I-I dunno..." she stammered, eyeing his swords. "I'm j-just taking these down to..."

"Oh, no bother. I'm sure I'll find him myself." And he began his search in earnest: hiking up flights of stairs, stalking down hallways, gliding into open rooms, and exerting unnatural g-forces on any guard unlucky enough to get in his way. He'd resheathed his swords after a while, having tired of scaring interns and being forced to help them pick up fallen papers.

Just where the hell is that b*****d, anyway? he thought as he began to near the top floor. Amazing if he's up here--he might break a hip on the way down for coffee.

When they Finally reached the front of her home Kiandra slowed to a stop and said seriously, "Mira I'm going to warn you now, My family isn't exactly the friendliest around. So don't be surprised if my mother acts harshly. Oh and if I were you I would not mention Pa...I mean the Human. That would definately not go well." Sighing she walked forward and slowly pushed open her front door. Frowning Kiandra realized that all was silent in her home. Grabbing her water pouch she allowed the water to spill out onto her open hand, forming a flat disk. "Mom?"
