Well, it was a real tear jerker. I agree that the deaths of Lupin and Tonks could have had some more acknowledgement/effect. I didn't feel too much for Mad Eye Moody, I admit. I felt no special connection to his character.
I just loved how the book really came together at the end with Snape. It certainly made one of my favorite characters, perhaps even my favorite. I think my favorite chapter was The Silver Doe (pretty sure that was the name of it, anyway). It was the scene where Harry went for Godric's Sword in the forest pond.
I also loved Molly's battle. whee

The deaths are still shocking to me. Until now, I can't believe Lupin and Tonks are dead. Dobby dying was absolutely tragic.
This is second time a HP book almost made me cry.

I cried when sirius died first, then when dumbledore died and now this time, i got so wrapped up with the characters. i sincerely hope they do not ruin the movie by cutting a lot out with the OOTP they cut out far too much and made the movie at least a hour shorter than it should have been. so i am hoping this is one of the longest movies from the series when they make it.

Technically it isn't the end since Rowling's still planning on making a sort of Harry Potter encyclopedia...
I'm looking forward to reading that when it comes out.

I am too. I really want to know what's going on with the Wealseys. They went through the most changes. One son dead, one without an ear, one ravaged by a werewolf, and the other was estranged for a year. Not to mention the fact Charlie is never around, and Ginny married Harry the weirdest person in their universe. I was going to say Ginny was a slut but I refrained from doing that.

Actually you didn't refrain. You said it, but she really wasn't, she was just a curious young girl who was experimenting with her feelings and now she has who she wants. I want to know what happened to all the weasleys too though!

Slut is the last thing I'd call Ginny. She dated like... what... two guys before she got together with Harry. Ooooh how slutty!
Seriously now, I've heard girls do way worse and way more intense stuff that are more deserving of such a title than what Ginny ever did. So she snogged a couple guys, big freaking deal. All the "Ginny's a whore! Ginny's a slut!" is a bunch of nonsense. She didn't even consider dating anybody else in the last book, which is a testament to her character.

I really liked this book... Not exactly what I was expecting, but not exactly a bad thing either. And I love that my Snape being in love with Lilly theory was so spot on. xd I must admit that I didn't expect them to have grown up together though...

Just because a lot of guys wanted to be with her, it doesn't mean that she actually dated all of them. Which makes me think of my cousin, she's this drop dead gorgeous cheer leader. A total knock out, funny, smart, and full of determination. But at the age of 20 she's only had about 3 or 4 boyfriends and most of those relationships lasted over a few months at least. She was just very choosy, she knew she was hot, and knew what to look for in a good guy; it takes a lot to get her, but once you have her, she's yours only, unless you mess it up and loose her, of course. Kinda like Ginny. Plus, she said she never really gave up on Harry. She wanted to be with him all along. She was trying to move on because she couldn't force Harry to like her (especially when she was so shy around him). It's like J.K. said in an interview. He was a bit like a rock star to her at first. They both needed to do some growing up before they could end up together. J.K. is a divorced and re-married woman, she knows what can happen if you leap into things before growing up first.

Totally off topic from the whole 'Ginny Slut' thing but...
I totally loved the Luna/Dean parts even though she ends up with some herbologist or something like that in the end.
Kinda sad really. stare

I liked the last book a bit, it was very holey and I just hated the Epilogue (Although the final sentence is probably one of my favorites.) Ginny... well Harry could of done a whole lot better then her but I wasn't really surprised by them ending up together. As for the deaths, well I didn't like that J.K. killed off Fred, I would of prefered Ginny, and also her death could of been tied in better I believe. I wasn't really affected when Lupin and Tonks died, it sucked but I wasn't ever emotionally tied to them. Like I said earlier, the Epilogue sucked, it left sooooooo many questions up in the air, What did Harry become? How's Hogwarts and the staff doing? And even, what about Harry's family? (Aunt, Uncle, and cousin)
