beachbeagle ThEndOfHeartache927 Xeraphem ThEndOfHeartache927 Xeraphem ((Alright then. It's beagle first, then rikkuna, myself, then Heartache. Anyone object to this?)) ((OOC: seems fine... so, if one person isnt' here, we skip them?")) Either that, or wait. Either by group decision or role in the plot. Meaning if he/she is a side character, then its easy to go around, but if he/she is an important role, we may be stuck waiting.)) ((I would say pretty much EVERYONE is an important role.. 'cept for me xd I don't have much to do with anything right now.)) ((That's basically how it would go. Importanced is based on where most of the action is occuring... which would be the scene with Reg, Allen, and Keerah right now.... I think....)) ((Ooooh... gotcha.. i think xd ))

Jack nodded and stepped on the gas, forcing himself to make sure that they were buckled in. He got closer and closer to the burning beacon. ((Everyone will be there by beagle's next post. :3))
Allen had rummaged throught the car, finding nothing but used condoms and a half-bottle of booze. Damn that guy was sick. He sighted and grabbed the booze, dipping the tail of the tie in as far as possible. "Here," he said holding out his free hand. "Grab my hand and squeeze if it hurts too much. This is whiskey, so it'll clean out that bullet wound." He explained. He looked off to Reg, who was busy rolling the car into some near-by bushes, concealing it as best he could. He popped the trunk and found what he was looking for. A can of spray-paint. He began to sweep back and forth, until a symbol was made. A wall-eyed shark with one snaggle tooth. One of the signs of the local gangs. The Hammerheads. ((Seeya Rikkuna.))

Luke arrived at the scene of the bridge that had been blown to smithereens a moment later, still holding the point of the knife to the man's back. "Where the hell is Mills?" he wondered aloud as he stepped off of his shadow. He now held the blade to the murderer's throat.

(( eek Holy shite. I leave for my job and we're at page 2. I come back after dinner and we're at page 8. xd I think I need to double-post for my charas to catch up...))
Matthias ran for home. He'd gotten scared and run from the warehouse when he heard sirens. Were they for him? No, he told himself. No one knew I was there. Couldn't possibly be. His attempt to comfort himself was soured when he remembered the last time he'd tried that. A sound that was almost a sob broke from his throat as he saw his new house come into view. Home, he was almost home, they couldn't find him here. Then he stopped dead in his tracks. The window was broken. Slowly, Matthias walked up to the door, which was smashed in. He was trembling. They couldn't have... what... He turned from the hall into the living room and found- Both his parents, shot dead. Matthias sank to his knees. He made no sound. He couldn't. If someone had put a gun to his head and ordered him to move, he couldn't have. Unfortunately, he wasn't alone. Well, well, well, said a voice in his head. What do we have here?

Aly put her backpack on the kitchen table in their tiny apartment. She and Mirie could have gotten more spacious accomodations with her father's money, but they had decided to lay low as best they could. So Mirie had taken a job, to prevent people from wondering why their neighbors always had money, and Aly was going to school. Public school was very different from the private school she'd gone to. Everything was brightly colored, despite its shabbiness. And the other children were a lot friendlier, too. Some of them, at least. Aly winced as she felt the new bruise on her arm, a souvenir from one of the children who'd decided that Aly "talked too prissy" and "dressed too fancy" to really belong. She'd just barely restrained herself from setting his shirt on fire. Then he'd see who dressed too fancy. A knock sounded at the door. Aly had a brief moment to wonder who it could be before the door was violently broken down. A burly man stepped through, grinning. "Come out, come out, wherever you are..." he called, adding under his breath, "you little freak." He spotted her pretty quickly. It was hard not to. Especially with a dozen fireballs floating near her. *** "All done 'ere," Mirie said, standing up and wiping her brow. The chief repairman took a look at her work and nodded. "Pretty good for a northerner," he said, flashing her a grin. Mirie grinned back. "What, me? Ah'm touched. Really Ah am." She made a great show of being flattered. The chief laughed. "Your work's done here. Go on and git yo'self home." Mirie frowned. "But there's the Camry with the A/C problem... and the Explorer with the cracked gasket..." The chief waved her away. "Ah, you've done enough work here to keep us in business for a month. Take some rest time. Take care o' your niece." Mirie smiled. "Thanks, chief." Aly had been passing herself off as Mirie's niece while they were in Georgia. The chief waved her away again. Mirie grabbed her pack and started the walk home. It wasn't so bad, being in Georgia. The climate was nice and they lived close to the beach. Aly was going to school, she had a job, no one commented on her headgear... Reflexively, Mirie put her hand up to check that the bandanna she had tied so tightly was still there - which was why she felt the exact moment that someone slipped it off. A gun was pushed up against her chin. "Don't move, freak," said her captor, obviously relishing his power. "Just die." "Ah-" Mirie drove her elbow into the man's solar plexus, jerking her head away from the gun. "-don't-" She drove her foot into his kneecap. "-think-" While the man howled in pain, she grabbed his gun arm with one hand and his hair in the other, bringing his face down to meet her knee. "-so!" The man dropped like a stone. Mirie started to back away when her headfins caught a current of air coming from the other end of the alley. She turned to see another man with a gun trained on her heart. For a fraction of a second, Mirie was sure this was the end. Then she smelled smoke. A strange expression crossed the man's face before he too howled in pain, doing a strange dance as he frantically slapped at his ankles. Mirie took the opportunity to grab the fallen man's gun and smash the butt of it across the back of the other man's head. He fell, and Mirie could finally see Aly standing behind him. "Aly!" Mirie rushed to her and hugged her tight. "Are you all right? Did they hurt ya?" "No," Aly mumbled, muffled by Mirie's sleeve. "They sent someone to the apartment, but I took care of them." Mirie pulled back for a second. "And that man? What did you do to him?" "I set fire to his socks." Mirie glanced at her to see if she was joking. Aly gazed at Mirie with the same calm expression she always had. "So what now?" she asked. Mirie sighed and got to her feet. "We run again, baby doll." Aly nodded. "I've already got our suitcases packed. So where to now? Florida?" Mirie was gazing at the fallen men without really seeing them. "No," she said slowly. "They'll be expecting that. We've got to go somewhere they'll never think to look." She drew in a deep breath. "We've got to go inland." "But-" Aly started. "You can't-" Mirie gave her a look full of kind suffering. "Ah can bear it long enough. Ah'll be alright. Arkansas sound good to you?" Aly nodded uncertainly. "Good." Mirie took her hand. "Now we've got to use some more of your papa's money. You got it on ya?..." The sounds of their planning faded into the night.

The voice drifted like smoke around his frozen mind. This is unusual, it was saying. You're actually still conscious while I'm out. It poked at his mind. In shock, I see. The voice spread itself out and seemed to sink into every surface of him. Matthias felt dirty and tried to move his arm, but found he couldn't. "Ah, ah, ah," the other said in his voice, grinning darkly and shaking his finger at the still-intact mirror. "I'm in control now." Matthias found himself a passenger in his own body. Who are you? he yelled at the other, throwing himself weakly against the confines of his mental prison. The other spread Matthias's hands. "Who am I? I'm you. I'm the part that doesn't wake up until your thirteenth birthday. And I have control-" Here he whirled around and pointed at a boot protruding from the kitchen. Matthias realized that his foster parents hadn't gone down without a fight. The man was obviously dead, judging from the crumpled way his forehead looked. But he was upright, jerking like a puppet in an eerie danse macabre. "-over bones," the other finished, watching the man gleefully. The other paused and put a hand on Matthias's hip. "I guess you could call me Boney." Wh-what do you mean?! asked Matthias, staring out in horrfied fascination at the dancing corpse. Thirteenth birthday? "Oh, she didn't tell you about me?" Boney asked, closing his hand in a fist. The corpse jerked once and fell back down. "Such a shame. Of course, she never did tell you much, did she? Your mother." Boney looked in the mirror. Matthias went numb again. She didn't tell you much, did she? Your mother, echoed in his head over and over again. Boney laughed at the shock he could sense from Matthias. "Right. You just stay like that." He cocked his head, listening to the sound of sirens. "I'm going to take a stroll." Boney walked down the front steps, stretching his hands. "We're gonna have a grand old time tonight."

Seth Meif sees most everything from his cave. Its way above the city so no one knows about it. After his parents died his brother showed him this place. He couldnt live a life like some of the users could. He glanced back at his wings. They were jet black like night and twice the size of his body. But now when he looks at them he doesnt see a gift, he sees a curse that is causing his brother to work three jobs at the age of 15. He sees all of the things he missed out on because of them. He sees his wings as the cause of his parents death. He also sees the big smoke stack coming from the bridge.
"That's wierd..."

Rome gripped the steering wheel tightly as her mirror mage, Italy, sang a hunting we will go over and over in an incredibly high opera voice. She occasionally checked the rear view mirror to see if thir foster parents were still alseep in the back seat. "Would you stop that?!" She hissed to her twin, smacking her in the arm. Italy indeed stopped but gave Rome the saddened puppy dog eyes "Don't start," Rome warned, taking her eyes off the road and the upcoming bridge "Fine, fine, but only if you keep your eyes on the road," She said, snickering with amussment. Rome knew that she was teasing, but she still didn't handel it well, she never did and dhe never would. "Excuss me? I am a great driver, if I wasn't, Ada and Johnathin would have never let me drive their car home," She snapped "Rome, calm down, I didnt mea- ROME! THE BRIDGE!" Italy screamed. Rome looked through the window and saw that there practically wasn't a bridge anymore. Instinctivly, she slammed on the breaks, barely stopping in time.

"Keerah!" called Kevyn. He was out of the car and running to his sister before anyone could stop him. "Kevyn!" she called back. The two were soon hugging eachother and crying. I was so scared I'd never see you again, Kevyn said mentally, not wanting anyone to overhear that statement. Me too, said Keerah, but it was the only way to get help. Next time, don't tell me to do that. Kevyn's voice was serious, but Keerah knew he would do it again if there was no other choice, and that he expected her to do the same. Sitting there cluching her brother with her good arm she wondered if she'd have the courage to trust him like he'd trusted her.... and doubted she ever would.

Jack also stepped out of the squadcar, yet in other conditions far less heartwarming as Kevyn and Keerah's had been. He did not hesitate to withdraw his .9mm from its holster. He stared evenly at the man that had kidnapped Keerah. "Take another step closer to them and you'll find yourself walking into the gates of Hell, instead." Jack said behind clenched teeth. He felt his right index finger itching. And the only way he could scratch that itch was by pulling the trigger.
Allen saw the squadcar come to a brief halt, spilling out its passengers one at a time. Then he saw the gun levelled at him. Slowly, Allen brought his hands in the air. "I have no intention of disobeying sheriff." Allen said calmly. However I think Reg may have a different mind set.
