I got hooked once I saw What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Blow.

I first came to know Depp's existance in 21 Jump Street, but I wasn't a real fan at that point of time.
I later got to watch Edward Scissorhands, the movie that really boosted up his ratings. But I wasn't impressed with it - please don't flame me for saying this! sweatdrop -, I guess I didn't like Depp's role in ES. Hence, still not a fan during that time.
Sleepy Hollow changed all that. I loved the plot and Depp's role! :3 It became my first fave JD's movie! whee
Depp is now my #1 fave actor after watching PotC. He was amazing! I thought that Capt Sparrow was the best movie character in the whole wide world! I was super impressed heart
I am now officially a super big fan of Depp after watching Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. I'm a retard, but I will say this: I am obsessed with Depp's version of Willy Wonka. I watched the movie 4 times (and still counting) because I just had to oogle. Willy Wonka has gotta be my fave movie character ever 4laugh heart
My friends have also called me weird because of this XD

I don't remember what movie it was, but I do remember thinking after I watched it what a great actor he was, and of course, I did think he was gorgeous. Thankfully, Mom is a pretty big Depp fan herself, so ever since that mystery movie that turned my on to him, I've seen just about everything of his. Some movies aren't really that great, but his acting is exceptional. I'm willing to watch everything of his once, and if it stinks, I know not to watch it again!

Benny & Joon is the first movie I saw him in I thought he was an awesome actor! And it sort of Just took off from there wink ! lol!

rosieB05 I saw him in edward scissorhands when i was like seven, but never knew who he was till i saw potc. after the movie when everyone was having a nutty over how hot orlando bloom was i was like" who was that amazingly talented hot guy that played jack sparrow?" my mother later told me it was johnny depp and now i am a total johnny addict. My friends ar still drooling over orlando and always make fun of me for liking a 43 year old mand, but i always remind them that orlando was never named sexiest man alive now was he? whee Ahh let'em drool we know better!!! lol he's uuhh 42 lol...

angel_of_joy Sashmo Benny and Joon was a wonderful film that got me hooked!
I thought Depp was "so kool" (I was only a lil lol)
I enjoyed it when he did his impression of Charlie Chaplin with the forks and i think they were twinkies???? the walking dancing bit hehehe!
but Edward Scissor hands was brilliant too and that's when i thought that Depp was a brilliant actor but i'm hooked purely because he is brilliant and looking at a character and developing a personality for that character! each character is sooooo different and that's what hooked me!

Fear and loathing of las vegas was weird i felt like i was tripping and i don't even like drugs lol! he was so adorable in benny and joon. its one of my fave movies of all time i could watch it over and over! I did lol... I watched it on heart Encore last month and I watched it once with my sis and then my dad haden't seen it so I watched it with him twice cause he fell asleep lol.

I think my first was really Edward Scissorhands, but I didn't realize it at the time. How good he was really hit me when I watched Pirates of the Carribean for the first time, and then I started to notice him. Until that point, I didn't pay enough attention to actors or that little thing called talent to realize how freakin' amazing Johnny Depp really is.

the first johnny movie i ever saw was Edward scissorhands and i almost cried at the end ok..... that pretty much got me hooked and i was 8 then....
also pirates of the caribbean is another one of my all time fave depp movies.... it was the first depp dvd i got (edward and benny and joon were on vhs)

A long long time ago when I first saw Edward Scissorhands....Then I later began to watch other Johnny movies and realized how talented he was. But I all started with Edward when i was really young.

I cannot wait to see the pirates of the carribean 2 and 3!! I sincerely hope they will be as well done as the first...although I am sure they will be considering Johnny Depp is the star! I can't imagine him doing a crappy performance... neutral

I think that I saw him in Sleepy Hollow and Edward Scissorhands, but it never really hit me how good he actually is until I saw Pirates of the Caribbean. That could have been a horrible movie if the acting had been bad, but the performances given by Mr. Depp and Kierra Knightly made it amazing. Orlando was alright, too, but not great.
