"About what?" Kai asked, gathering more sticks, and placing them overtop of his five snapped branch part. Though his voice was rather dry, due to the frustration that had already been surfaced by Zero's sudden attack, it retained a bit of curiosity as well. Enough to show that his blunt answer wasn't hostile.

"Edge or not. Even I didn't resort to attacking random people to survive." Kai interupted, before realizing that she hadn't finnished. He began walking toward the entrance of the cave. "I'm sorry, what where you going to say?" He asked, as his hair strands bounced up and down with each step.

Kai stopped dead in his tracks, scowling at the ground. He tried to imagion things from Zero's perspective. Unlike Kai, who ran away from his personal hell, only to encounter a new one, Zero was dragged away from everything he once knew. Onlike Kai, where this was an improvement in his life, Zero actually had things going for him. Things he could never get back. Zero didn't chose to live in isolation, like Kai did. And Kai knew he would never know what that was like. It was just up until recently that he was able to look at a human being in the eye again. But Zero was still caught in the hell of his own mind.

Kai continued walking, not saying a word. When he reached the cave, he turned around, and faced Candy. "Go ahead. Its not like Im the leader or anything." He said with a shrug, while holding the branches under his arm. "But don't think he is going to warm up to us. Something like this leaves scars. Something that not even time can heal. Even if he does warm up to us, what makes you think he will ever be the same again." Kai said, before walking into the cave.

Kai didn't respond. He had already told her that she could do what she wanted. But he just couldn't bring himself to trust some one he was sure as hell still looked at him as an enemy. If Zero could forgive, only then would Kai forgive. It was how he was. Kai trailed up the natural stair case inside the cave, until he was up to the ledge where his fire still smoked. He dumped the fire wood to the side, and began building the fire larger.

"Normally, I wouldn't care, but..." Tyo began, looking up at the evening sky. His voice breaking the silence, causing Kai to look down from the cliff at him. "Its getting dark. We really should start moving the wounded up inside the cave or near the camp fire. The high ground would be easier to defend against bandits." Tyo said, looking at the sick, wounded, and paralized around him.
