We broke a drum set bass head once o_o We went to a competition and forgot the sticks >__< In a parade my quads fell off the harness... it was so scary. They probably weighed more than I did! Also in marching, the biggest bass drum is very hard to see over. So this kid totally plowed into a wall and fell right on the drum. >___> The worst, our director found some... "drug paraphanalia" hidden in the accessories cabinet. We had a good talk after that sweatdrop

Let's see... we've inverted crash cymbals, had the straps break mid-crash, broken several pairs of mallets (usually my fault XD)
I'm notorious for breaking mallets. I wear them down or just accidentally break them, lol.
OMG. We have a really sucky vibraphone at my school. I was pushing it on our practice field once, and I didn't realize the strap that we use to keep it together wasn't on... so I'm pushing and all I see is the front end of the vibes SINK... the entire thing fell apart TAT The highest b flat on that set of vibes somehow has managed to become an a natural. And we have a marimba that always has one resonator fall off >__<
I've also had another school's cymbal stand fall apart on my foot. I went to put our crash cymbals in it because it looked better (we were about to sightread a piece, after a concert competition), and I BARELY knocked it with my hip... it fell apart and the stupid cymbal fell on my foot. I also dropped a cymbal, trying to put it in the stand; it rolled out and crashed onto the floor...

Hmm I've had cymbals fall during a concert 'cause we put them on an edge of the chair. xD
and For football games when I was in pit, we would dismantle the marimba and put it on the bus with all the other junk at the back of the bus. Once, the bus driver hit a bumpy part in the road and stopped abruptly and the marimba keys fell. We had just gotten it that season so you saw all of these pit kids in the back of the bus diving for the roll of keys so it wouldn't get scratched.
it looks like someone keyed are marimba now. xd

11 and 15
I've kept my music easily...for 4 years, and my show charts. I've also had the drum roll down the bleachers, and kicked one myself.

Blckpanthr13 Inverting crash cymbals.
chyeah. It can be done. I'm witness.
two words:
drum corps. I'm living proof that you can invert your cymbals. Then again, the cymbal I wore on my right hand had two holes connected by an extremely long crack on the inner rim... It would invert right in the middle of a song (Thankfully not while marching, just a standing performance) and I would have to stop and pop it back in. How about trashing/breaking/buring the old pit and drumline equipment to get new ones?

Our highschool band has this really sucky vibraphone, so during the smmer we got a new, shiny, pretty, gold one. It was so awesome, and we were trying to be really careful with it, but it wasn't balanced on its stand correctly so when we were moving it bak into our perc room we hit the wall and the whole thing toppled over. Now we have two sucky vibes, just one is shiny. Haha blaugh !!! Good times, good times...
