austin's already shaky smile faded slightly, becoming limp.
"Alright, then..I'll be here."
Austin stood up, then went to his drawer to get another cigarette.
"I'm sorry i can't go with you, Kia. I hope you do understand..."

"I guess so. And I hope you feel better soon, Austin."
Kia absolutely hated how shaky her own voice sounded at the time. She felt so weak and helpless within the situation. Seeing him so depressed made her heart ache, especially because in a way she was responsible for it. All she could do was hope that he would start to feel better while she was away.
Maybe somehow she'd finally make him smile genuinely...
Quickly and quietly, she slipped out of bed and dressed herself. She noticed the clouds looking rather dark already, so she grabbed her umbrella as well before heading for the door.
"Bye bye."
Giving him one final look, Kia stepped out of the door and closed it behind herself.

After Kia left, Austin sighed slightly.
"What to do now?..."
Austin fidgeted, moving around the room randomly to find something to occupy some of his time.
He found nothing, and felt extremely tense all of a sudden.
Drip. Drop. Plink. Splatter. Splash.
It began to rain heavily outside, drips and drops splattering heavily against the window. Austin sighed. He went to the door, and turned off the lights. besides the window, there as absolutely NO light in the room. everything was pitch black.
Austin slowly fell to his knees, then crawled to the center of his room in a creeping slither. He eventally arrived the the center, then collapsed. He laid there. Not thinking. Not speaking. Just breathing, and listening. listening to the rejuvenating sounds of the rain returning to the Earth.

The rain began to calm eventually. Austin sighed as he sat up, little specks of dirt falling off of his back.
"Guh...what time is it?"
Austin went to his window to check the clock, then gasped slightly when he saw Kia out on a bench, sleeping in the pouring cold. He opened the window immediately, and the rain began to come down in large sheets of chilling frostwater. Austin backed away from the window fdor a moment; after all, he was only wearing jeans and a pair of underpants beneath that. Of course the freezing water would hurt a ********. Kia took the only umbrella in the room, and all my clothes are at the wash..."
Austin paced back and forth anxiously, thinking. How the bloody hell was he gonna get her out of there? she'd surely get sick and die if he left her there...
Austin jumped when thunder boomed just outside of the window. And suddenly, his feelings for Kia took over. Austin turned and charged for the window, then shot straight through the small crack he'd made.

Austin returned a moment later with Kia.
Well, sort of. Kia was sleeping, and the pair of them were both soaked in freezing cold water. Austin had an extremely worried face on.
"Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT! "
Austin jumped over to his bed, ripping the covers off. He immediately pulled off Kia's clothing. Normally, having to do such a thing would make him blush so heavily he'd...but that didn't matter. Austin didn't have time to be shy. Kia was gonna die if he didnt treat her immediately.
After removing all of Kia's clothing, he promplty placed her on the bed and dried her off. He tucked her into bed, then promplty moved to his desk to pull herbs and ingredients out. Alchemy ingredients he'd been experimenting with, to make medicine. He immediately went to the mortar and pestle with unbelievable accuracy, grinding together different herbs and mixtures. Teh colors changed from green to dark green to agate. eventually settling on a melon green hue, Austin poured the ingredients into a vial of brownish liquid, then shook it. The melon turned into a cantaloupe shade, and Austin moved to Kia with it in hand. He placed his hand back on Kia's forehead, feeling her temperature; She had a raging fever going, which was a sign of Hypothermic illness. Austin tried to open Kia's mouth, then remembered that Kia wouldn't swallow if she was unconsious.
"Are you kidding me? I have to feed you myself?"
Austin groaned slightly, then opened his mouth. He sucked in the medicine, then knelt down. He planted his lips to Kia's, and cautiously pushed the medicine down her throat.
Not exactly how he pictured giving Kia the first kiss of their relationship, but what was he going to do? you can't feed raw materials to the bloodstream, and he didn't have the time necessary to liquidify the ingredients into a serum.
Austin watched Kia intently now, wiping beads of sweat from her forehead as he watched. After ten minutes, Kia's fever got gradually better. Eventually, it calmed to 99 degrees.
Austin watched Kia with a face of relief now, happy she would survive.

There he was again.
That mysterious man in the black and silver armor. His long silver hair fluttering gently in the wind as he waved goodbye. His handsome face was serious but a small smile played on his lips as he turned about to speed off on his steed.
Who was he? Why was he saying goodbye to her? And why did seeing him go make her feel as if her heart was tearing in two?
"Leaving me again? Well I don't need you! Always leaving me! I HATE you!"
Feverish dreams swirled about in Kia's head as she lay in bed, groaning softly as her body began to recover from her almost fatal fever. Finally after a few minutes more, her eyes began to flutter open as she awoke feeling hot and dizzy from the ordeal.
"T-the dorm? Why...?"
Although she was awake she had not the strength to function properly yet. Speaking proved to be an effort on its own as her voice came out as a broken whisper. Her head lolled about on her pillow as she struggled to look around and understand just what had happened to her to wind up there.

" Ten more minutes in that rain, and the hypothermia would've killed you. Take a mental note not to sleep in the rain next time, otherwise i might lose you. And if i lose you, i'll go crazy."
Austin voice had a slightly harsh, yet worrysome tone.
"So how're you feeling, love?"

Kia remained silent for a few moments, trying to recollect how she wound up sleeping in the downpour. The details remained hazy in her mind unfortunately. Now she turned her head towards him, unable to sit up at that point.
"I...don't feel good. Did you...save...me?"

"If you wanna call it that, i guess so. Yeah, i gotcha out of the rain."
Austin moved back to his desk momentarily, mixing together a small amount of ingredients.
"This should make the pain go away."
Austin went back to Kia's side, and gave her a shot glass of purple-ish liquid that smelled like coca cola and koolaid.

Blinking at the strange substance, Kia weakly raised her hand to take the glass from Austin. She always hated medicine because of their odd smells and tastes, but she accepted because she wanted to feel better.
She lifted the glass to her lips as best as she could and let the liquid slide down her throat. It was thick and too sweet which made her grimace a bit in disgust. But soon after she settled down and closed her eyes.
"T-thank you."

"Don't mention it. Just.. don't get me worried like that again. I don't need another loved one added to my body toll, thank you very much~"
Austin softly moved Kia over so he could lay down on top of the covers of his bed.
"So what was it? I could sense the negative energy escaping your body as you slept. what was wrong?"

"Oh. I was just having a bad dream. That's all."
The sensations from the dream were still vague, but thinking about it roused some discord in her heart once again. She always had strange dreams like that...of the man in black armor, once in a while. And it would always feel real as if she had been there.
Her feeling of discomfort made her draw the covers up over her body even more in a meek fashion.

Austin moved some hairs from Kia's face quietly, then stroked the side of her head for a moment before laying his hand back down.

Kia nodded lightly and glanced down at her fingers which held the bed covers in a light grasp. Then she raised her eyes and allowed them to fall on Austin's face, studying his expression with curiosity.
"S-so...you aren't sad...anymore?"

"Well...no, not really. I'm okay now.."
It was a lie, of course; Austin was always in a state of sadness. Though the degrees of sadness varied with the times, he always had a bit of melancholy in him. this was why he enjoyed listening to sad music from groups like a perfect circle, or tool.
But, he knew it would go away eventually. All he needed was some help.
"Don't ever get me worried like that again please, Kia. I love you. I really do. And I only love about 10 people in my life, including you."
