Alright, I have a few things to say.
First of all, the members are entitled to a say in what happens in this guild because they are the ones that frequent it.
Majority rule does come into affect because this guild does want to make the members happy...if we didn't care what members thought, this thread wouldn't exist...we could have just banned the members that were posting against the Guild events being placed on the main page and deleted all the posts regarding the matter...
maybe then we would have fit into the image of power corrupted individuals that has been thrown around.
Majority rule does matter in or outside of Gaia. For an example, look at prohibition. So many people wanted the alcohol that by trying to outlaw it, the government made things worse.
Secondly, why is it that the word "exception" is overlooked?
Just for clarification: Exception - 2. something excepted; an instance or case not conforming to the general rule.
Why is it that people are claiming we would be unjust to have an exception to a rule?
Most rules have exceptions. That's because it can create problems to have rules so stiff and unflexible.
Guild events belong in the spotlight.
They are special events from all of the moderators to the rest of the guild.
The debate about placement of contests may go on because that issue obviously isn't resolved, but Guild events are not in the same category as the rest of the contests if you want my opinion, and I don't think that I'm alone in feeling this way.
As for my thinking that Omni is childish, well, it wasn't because of the fact that Omni had a complaint regarding the issue.
It was because of his attitude and some of the remarks he made and also the way he went about confronting this issue.
When someone starts throwing false accusations around to get what they want, well that is childish in my opinion and seems more than a bit over dramatic.
