Eirwyn I've got a big bunch of old fanzines I bought from someone once--there's a story in one that is downright stomach-turning with it's hatred for #6, showing him cheerfully blowing the Master's brains out with a gun. evil Violent!Doctor bashfics just about make me cry. Honestly, it's just... gonk The Doctor isn't violent! Mostly! Not without reason! And if he has to be violent, he hates it! And if people aren't bashing the Doctor in these sorts of stories, he gets collaterally bashed while they're going off on Martha or Fitz* or who-the-hell-ever. The Doctor is nonviolent! If you make him otherwise, I get scared. Yeah, Six has a short fuse. And, yeah, pretty much the first thing he did was try to throttle someone-- but he wasn't himself at the time!
*Lance Parkin wrote this little wee story on OG. Apparently Fitz betrayed the Doctor to the Daleks, the Doctor did something violent to him while in the TARDIS. Which is to say, he could have just as landed the TARDIS in the back of beyond and told him not to let the door hit him on his way out, which is unquestionably what he would have done.

I watched the first one with Eccleston. I think it was called Rose. It might have been a Christmas Special... Or the Christmas Invasion. I might have watched half of the Chrsitmas Invasion...

I have seen all of the first and second seasons of the new and improved Dr Who's. We watch it religiously. However when growing up i don't remember any specific episode i just remember the Dr. He wore a multi colored scarf and I remember when ever the TARDIS was "taking off" it looked psychedelic. I also remember the sidekick was a funky girl. I just remember the overall look of the show back then was like late 70's early 80's bright colors almost to the point of being blinding or you needed sunglasses to watch. mrgreen domokun

I know I must've seen some of the classic episodes, or possibly read the books, because when the new series first started airing, it wasn't entirely unfamiliar. But it was just an episode or half of one, usually with Tom Baker, that I'd caught here and there while channelsurfing.
The first episode that I saw knowing I was watching Doctor Who was one of the new episodes, the one with Rose and the Dalek. The first one I actually paid attention to was "Blink", and I still have a mild fear of statues because of it.

The first Doctor Who anything I saw was the sad as hale scene from "Doomsday". gonk Even though I wasn't attached to the characters at all, I still kind of cried.
The first full episode I saw was "Rose".

Daleks in Manhattan- I remember it quite well. I was sitting in the living room with my father and he was eating while watching Doctor Who. The show had already begun when I walked in and the first thing I saw was one of the Daleks. When it spoke I remember saying, "What the heck is that? It's annoying!"
Haha, well now I'm more fond of the Daleks (as evil as they may be). After that (months later) I watched season 1, 2, followed 3, and now I'm on 4- watching DVDs of the 4th and 2nd Docotor on the side :]

My first episode was "Rose". I'll have to admit, I wasn't exactly thrown out of my seat by killer mannequins, but by episode three I was pretty much in love with the series. biggrin

Series 1 Episode 2. I can't remember the name of it though. Anyways, my Dad had taped it because he watches The Bill, and he must have seen Doctor Who in the TV Guide before it. So, he taped Doctor Who, and he started watching it, and, me, as I hadn't a thing to do, I went in and watched it with him. Turns out, I was hooked! I haven't missed an episode since then (except Blink, but after watching it on YouTube, I was pleased I missed it), and I love it! I've watched Series 1, 2, 3 and am currently watching the fourth, as I live in the Land DOwn Under, and last night the ep was - The Unicorn and the Wasp.

That's just horrific... gonk The Doctor isn't violent! Especially not with guns!! And not like that, the Doctor would never do that!
