The moment that she, they land on the colony she needs to learn how to walk. Adelaide is able to give her the very technical explanation for what walking is. But the computer can't tell Charis how it will feel. In fact shes having trouble just getting up. Sitting on the 'floor', Charis keeps bending and stretching her new limbs. Inside of her shoes she even stretches out and wiggles her toes around. A look on her face of sheer wonder and amazement. She turns to look up at Seisuke, only having one question for him. "How do I walk?"

While she is learning how to 'walk' her hands are clutching at his arms. She trusts him its not a question of that, its just that she isn't used to being unsteady. The first few times she falls she would gasp softly, the ground is harder than it looks and not nearly as forgiving as sand. Still she is able to get the hang of it. Though she continues to hold onto one of his arms for added support, occasionally tugging him down when she trips or forgets what she is doing. To those who are watching, if there is anyone there, she probably looks drunk or very simple minded. Yet she doesn't notice these stares, well Adelaide does. Making a record of everyone that Charis sees and documenting that information in case it will be needed for later.

Yet she doesn't know this. Charis is just trying to get used to having 'legs' and appearing to be normal when she has spent her life being other than normal. Over time the thought of her being like Rei would soon fade away. She isn't a blank slate and never acted that way. True she is very shy and almost always socially awkward, but she does have feelings and she does show them. Like now her cheeks are pink as she avoids looking at anyone. Adelaide is in her head chiding her for being overly dependent and thinking too much on what people think of her. Without thinking about it, Charis blinks and even slightly glares, that isn't the advice that her eye is supposed to be giving her, darn it. Slowly she lets go of Seisuke's arms and tries moving a few steps on her own, a rather gleefully proud look making her entire face light up.

Standing next to him, Charis can only blink a few times and shrug. Not even Adelaide would know the answer quiet yet. Neither one of them has cracked a text book yet, but he was asking her this opinion like she knew. After a few moments she shakes her head and looks down, blushing because it makes her feel just a bit ... unintelligent to be asked so direct a question and have no idea how to even answer. "I.. don't know akri."

Charis nods, her momentary discomfort gone as she dwells more on the thought of attending school rather than how she had felt not knowing the answer. Even though she is just learning how to 'walk' already it seems that she is getting the hang of it. A slight lightness of step and easy manner could be detected just by looking at her. It takes her a few moments but she decides to walk with her eyes closed next to her akri. Getting a rather mild scolding from Adelaide for it, as the computer wants to observe the school's architecture and design.

It had never occurred to her that she might have to say good bye so soon. Moving to stand in front of him she holds onto his wrist the other one reaching out to land on his chest. Now is the time she can go forward or back. Go to school and learn, possibly become something greater than she is now already. Or choose to leave with Seisuke and have things stay the same. In only a few seconds Adelaide is able to calculate out numerous possibilities, yet it is up to Charis to make the decision. For just a second she bites her bottom lip, only to stand up on tiptoe to place a kiss on Seisuke's lips. Her voice is very soft when she whispers, "I'll miss you Seisuke." And then fearing that her resolve may fade she runs into the school's registration building.
