Pandali
((I'm confused - is your character's real name Shiv or Daigon?))

Harmony considered the options set before her. She was pretty sure the Droselle Inn was where they had been before, so it must be pretty close. Also, it was an inn, and considering that she now had to find a place to stay, that seemed the ideal place to go.

She smiled back at Elohman. "The Droselle Family Inn sounds like a friendly place to me - why don't we head there?"

((the one you are with is Shiv...calling himself Elohman...my second charachter is Dagon the mercenary...he's at the inn))

Dorian nodded, smiling.
"Well lady merchant, lead away!"

They had scarce taken two steps out of the shop when a plume of fire blossomed in the distance like a red rose in a field of black charcoal.

"On second thought lady merchant...It appears to me that perhaps the Droselle inn is a bit otherwisely engaged...perhaps another choice would be best." Dorian gravely pointed at the pillar of flame rising in the distance.

"I may be a fool...but I know a battle when I see one...something tells me that the practical Dorselle's would not be having fire magic performed at their inn...they were never that ostentatious." Dorian looked to the raging flames with eyes already cold and dangerously predatory. His every muscle strained like a coiled spring and a dangerous smile threatened to inundate his face. For once, he was glad to be turned away from Harmony.

"Unless...you feel like a little invigoration lady merchant...certainly your posture and demeanor aren't for fooling crooks into thinking you know how to handle a weapon...as a fool, I must learn how to recgonize possible danger...and you aren't exactly hiding that Lady."

He turned, plunging his face into a slightly aprehensive, bemused smile. "Shall we lend a hand as lawful citizins of this city?"

((I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that these creatures can be dropped easily...if not..I will recall my post))

Dream had started speaking, but Dagon was no longer hearing his voice. The pitter patter of feet on the roof had become the only noises that reached his ears. When the ceiling was engulfed in a pillar of flames, Dagon was already moving. Creatures dropped into the inn like hissing devils, the light of the flickering flames playing across their bodies like some macabre nightmare. Nothing could be discerned of the beasts save the flash of glistening teeth and eyes that burned with murderous flames. Not all were incinerated on their entry into the inn, one landing upon the table in front of Dagon, smashing his plate into a shrapnel of white ceramic pieces that sprayed from the beast’s feet. The monster was fast, immediately identifying Dagon as a target and lashing out with claws that glinted black in the raging fire behind it.

Dagon…was faster. The instant his hand closed on the worn hilt of his katana, the beast’s fate was sealed. It seemed to halt midway through the completion of its swipe, confused. Dagon’s sword was nicking its throat, and his eyes blazed like one possessed. It was a few moments later that the monster realized it no longer possessed and hand to slash with…an arm to for that matter.

Dark blood sprayed from the remains of the monster’s arm like some diabolical fountain, drenching a fiendishly grinning Dagon with its sticky content. The beast did not have time to contemplate the implications of its position before it no longer possessed the means to breathe.

Dagon’s sword pierced its thick neck and continued through up to the hilt as Dagon gazed into the eyes of the creature he had slain. The creature’s eyes were large and uncomprehending, seemingly unable to fix on anything as the mists of death swirled in their depths. As the monster choked on the cold steel filling its throat, eyes that roiled and flared like a tempest of insanity dominated its vision. Truly…if there was ever a hell to see before one visited it…it would lie within the depths of Dagon Adaos’s eyes.

Not pausing to extricate his blade, Dagon shifted the blade to its side with a sickening crunch, growling as he pulled the blade to exit his kill on the left side of its throat. Dagon pushed the dead thing away, wiping his blade haphazardly on its hide. He noticed with some annoyance that the beast disintegrated moments after death...leaving him with nothing but blood to take as a trophy...sighing, Dagon dismissed it. His gaze roved the room as more beasts made their bestial entrance. Blood flecked his face like obscene freckles and his hair glistened darkly in the still burning flames…but Dagon could not have felt more at home in this chaotic environment.

Like some terrible monkey from the depths of hell, Dagon leapt upon the table and howled out a cry of fierce joy and bloodlust. A beast turned to try and identify the demon that could scream so chillingly and found itself staring into the blazing eyes of the crazed mercenary. For a moment, it assumed that blood craze had blinded all reason…for the mercenary’s sword was safe in its sheath. The beast had claws that could strike faster then a normal man could draw and swing his weapon and so crowing out a battle cry of its own, the monster swiped at Dagon.

Dagon’s sword was drawn and buried in within the skull of its adversary before the abomination knew it had lost. A grin of victory was still painted upon its face as Dagon wrenched his sword free from the rapidly vanishing corpse, and laughing manically…turned to find new prey.

The moment that the creatures had appeared, Dream had erected a simple barrier around himself, and stood to the side to make sure that his partner was fine. He didn't need to worry at all, though, as he had disposed of the creatures coming to him almost effortlessly. He was fast... way too fast for Dream to have any chance at victory if they were to fight. The only thing going for himself was his mind and his ability to keep perfectly calm in a crisis.

He had drawn his rod, and stood his ground, not choosing to come after any particular creature. One of them attempted to attack him; he spun to the side, but did not attack it. It tried a second time. Again he dodged it, but chose to let it be. The creature then seemed to loose interest in him and went away to do something else unknown to Dream.

Suddenly, he heard some kind of unusual screetch from Dagon. He stared at him, part confused, part just completely skeptical at his sanity. He decided to let him be, as he was doing fine. Meanwhile, he would check up on the condition of others. The creatures seemed to be pretty much ignoring him, as he wasn't screaming or fighting or really doing anything that they might attack him for.

He placed simple Healing charms on a few fallen residents, and smiled as they regained consiousness... and ran off. He had to heal one man three times, because every time he got up, he ran randomly, right into the majority of the creatures. Eventually, he got it right and ran in the other direction.

After healing a few others, a pair of the beasts turned to him and charged him. He smiled, and used his energy to strengthen the barrier around him, mainly at the spot which they were running at. They crashed into the invisible wall, and fell down almost comically before they got back up and tried again. This time, he did away with the barrier and resorted to blinding them with a flash of light from his palm, straight into their eyes. As they stood there, he walked off to meet up with others who required healing.

Kel passively watched the creature snarling at her not two feet away. She'd never seen or heard of this thing before, though that shouldn't be much of a surprise. Her knowledge lay chiefly with plants and a few other organic things that would be used for potion ingredients, not assassin creatures that attack from roofs.

Another creature joined the one in front of her and moved to one side, attempting to hem her in. She slowly began moving away along the wall of the inn, but as she did so, two more creatures dropped from the roof practically on top of her. She ducked and rolled to the empty side as the slobbering things pounced harmlessly on the spot she had occupied a second before.

She had ended up in the doorway, and now she was blocking things. She cursed inwardly, though her face did not change, nor did her dagger waver. At least half a dozen of the creatures were now surrounding the doorway, snapping their jaws and clearly annoyed that they were being denied entrance. More were still coming off of the roof.

Kel was in no mood to prevent them from doing whatever it was they were trying to do. She stood a second more, then darted inside the inn, where chaos was engulfing the nearby dinner table. She ignored this for the moment, and moved to one side of the doorway so she no longer obstructed the creatures' path. She moved to the nearest shadowy corner, and hoped none would follow her.

Yuki waitied until the masters of the inn indulged to begin eating. The stew was marvelously seasoned, its scent mirroring the taste perfectly. Dyring dinner he enaged in light conversation with the owner of the inn, Mister Droselle. As he was finishing his meal, a creak could be heard on the roof above. Several small plinters of wood and dust particles trailed down into the burning centerpiece Misses Drosselle had erected. Moments later, a creature fell through the roof and landed in the grease fire. As it was slowly consumed, it shrieked for it's very life. All eyes were on the hole in the roof as more monstrocities came through. The more-weuipped adventurers at the table readied their weapons and magics respectively. Yuki pushed his chair back and darted for the stairs. To anyone looking in his direction, it would seem that he was a cowardly commoner (for he brought no equipment with him to dinner). He scaled them quickly and burst through his room door as quickly as the hinges would allow. He hurriedly grabbed his sword, as the sheath slid off. As he was about to exit his smal temporary abode, he backpedaled and clumsily grabbed onto the edge of his shield. I'll have no time to put my armor on, and none of my items would do any good. He quickly made his way down the hallway to the staircase. At the top, he spotted a creature at the base. It noticed him and lept up the steps. Swinging his sword in one reckless horizontal slice (since he had almost no time to react), he split the monster's abdomen open. It fell back down the stairs and screamed as it bled to death. Yuki descended the steps and saw the the last of the monsters was being finished off by the other warriors present. Yuki sighed in relief and dropped his buckler, which he was still only holding by the edge.

Having a first look at the creature, Iria sighed at her inexperience that she was always nagged about. She had no idea what the creature was or how to deal with it, though others seem to have start to go at them. Iria knew she was too inexperienced to attempt to catch or tame any of them, and decided that putting them our of their misery was the best idea.

One of the creature spotted her, and charged at her ferociously. Without hesitating, Iria casted fireball at it's mouth. Though she lacked experience in taming monsters, she wasn't in destroying them. The monster bravely swallowed the fireball, only to burn from inside out. The ashes of the monster floated away in the heat.

A chilling howl from something other than these creatures caught Iria's attention. She looked around to see what makes such moise, but had to divert her attention once again more monsters who saw their companion burn away. Cursing, Iria began to cast fireball repeatedly, aimed at the usual vital points, to ward them off until she could buy enough time to cast stronger spells. Biting her lips at the sheer number of creatures, Iria hoped she didn't have to use that spell.

Shiv nodded, smiling.
"Well lady merchant, lead away!"

They had scarce taken two steps out of the shop when a plume of fire blossomed in the distance like a red rose in a field of black charcoal.

"On second thought lady merchant...It appears to me that perhaps the Droselle inn is a bit otherwisely engaged...perhaps another choice would be best." Shiv gravely pointed at the pillar of flame rising in the distance.

"I may be a fool...but I know a battle when I see one...something tells me that the practical Dorselle's would not be having fire magic performed at their inn...they were never that ostentatious." Shiv looked to the raging flames with eyes already cold and dangerously predatory.

((Sorry this took me so long, I forgot to tell you that I would be gone all weekend. sweatdrop Oh, and I meant Shiv or Dorian - because your profile says Dorian.))

It took Harmony a bit to process what Elohman was saying. At first it seemed like he wanted to leave, then it seemed like he was insulting her, but at the end he was offering to go enter the fray.

She decided to take the last meaning as what he meant. "Yes, well we certainly cannot just move on with something like that going on." Going over what he said again in her mind she added, "Are you trying to say that you don't think I know how to handle a weapon?" She raised an eyebrow at him. "I have been living on the road for several years now, you know."

She reached back into her cart and pulled out her scimitar and put it on -she had taken off when she entered the city because she had figured it wouldn't be much use in the crowds and she didn't want to look threatening to customers, it wasn't exactly a custom for city women to show off weapons. With a look of determination and a gleam in her eye, she picked up her cart and began to walk towards the flames. "Come on, then, the excitement is going to be over if we just stand here."
