Kia squealed as she looked back. "No! Sei-chan!"
Kia clenched her fist as she ran with Maiyu, only to skid to a stop as the other demon appeared.
"GRAH!" She let out a piercing cry, lifting her broom over her head. "I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"
And with that, she brought the broom crashing down on the head of the demon ahead of her. "COME ON! YOU WANT ME!?!?!?! TAKE ME ALREADY!" She said, smashing down as hard as she could three times before the wooden handle of her broom broke.

Maiyu lost her balance as the younger girl rushed past her and began beating on the pigmies with her broom. She looked skyward and shook her head, then snagged the girl's arm and darted past the piggies.
"Those who fight and run away live to fight another day," she recited. "Come on, we're gonna find the end of this maze and they're not gonna stop us. There's gotta be other kids here. They can just focus on them."
She tried to sound encouraging, but her heart was racing and a bead or two of sweat had begun to gather on her brow below her mask. She pocketed her pocket knife with her free hand and cut a corner away from the direction they'd started from.
That damned red butterfly shot across in front of her several yards down the way. She stopped short and watched it go. She had a sinking feeling in her stomach that it was going the right way. To follow it or...

Kia let her hand slip away from Maiyu.
"Just...give me...a second..." she said between gasps. "I need to...catch my breath..."
But she wasn't going to get a break. She heard crashing behind her; she had only managed to make the demons mad and now they were giving chase.
"Aw, come on! Cut me a break!" She yelped and took to her feet again, running with all her might. "When is this gonna end!?"

Kael was running blindly through alleys and crawling through garbage, trying to get away from the demons as quick as possible as well as trying not to think about whether or not Red had been caught yet. He found a small cubby hole partially hidden by an overflowing dumpster, and crawled into it, shaking, tears welling up in his eyes. "I wanna go home..."Kyo limped out the back of a building and knelt down behind some boxes for a moment. He tore a piece of fabric off of his shirt's sleeve and wrapped it around the still bleeding cut on his leg. Once it was secured he blinked and looked around. Buri hadn't followed him into the building and he'd had no choice but to assume she'd dove another direction in attempted escape. He'd spent a while trying to find his way through a series of conected buildings before finally getting out and was rather tired now. He did notice, though, a small pair of shoes sticking out from amongst the other boxes. "Someone there?" he called quietly. "Are you playing the game as well?" A growl came in response. "Oh no..." Kyo turned and found a giant, multi-armed creature turning the corner not too far from where he was. It's huge eyes rolled around to look at him and another low growl came. "If that wasn't giving a headstart, then I don't know what is!" Kyo turned and ran, the cut on his leg stinging from the fresh wrap moving against it. Pounding footfalls started moving down the alleyway after him.

Kael clutched his weapons tight, whispering, "no...no...no...." over and over, wanting nothing more than to be in his living room watching TV instead of hiding behind a pile of garbage, waiting for a demon to eat him. He heard someone approach, and ask a question of him, but as he was about to move, he heard a low growl and shut up completely, eyes wide behind his mask.

Great, now we're being trailed...
A ways in front of her a flash of irridescent red rounded a corner.
When Maiyu got to the point, she clung to the brick wall as she spun after the butterfly and found it was stairs. She skipped every other one and poured all her weight forward for momentum. Along the way, she gave an abandoned hot dog cart a shove and let it fall backward down the steps behind her, hoping Kia would duck... if she'd followed along.

When Maiyu got to the point, she clung to the brick wall as she spun after the butterfly and found it was stairs. She skipped every other one and poured all her weight forward for momentum. Along the way, she gave an abandoned hot dog cart a shove and let it fall backward down the steps behind her, hoping Kia would duck... if she'd followed along.
She clammored to her feet, grabbing her chin as it bled freely, her wrist hurt too and she had a feeling it wasn't exactly in great shape, but her chin definatly felt worse at the momet.
"If it wasn't for the fact that the cart probably just saved my life," Kia gasped as she ran up next to Maiyu, "Then I would have smacked you upside the head for scareing the ever living @#$@ out of me..."
"Thank you..." she muttered as she walked foward away from the steps. Kia stopped for a moment to catch her breath, one hand still pressing her chin as the blood dripped through her fingers. She flopped down on her butt and pulled her shirt up and pressed it againts her chin.
"Great, if the demons don't kill me, I'll bleed to death..." she muttered as it was clear she was trying her hardest not to cry.

Tiny_Dancer2 Kia nearly missed having a cart fall ontop of her. She let out a cry and landed hard on the steps as the cart twisted in the air above her, crashing into the demons behind her. She had been running full tilt, and as she hit the steps, she hit the top one with the edge of her chin, just below the edge of her mask, jolting her entire head and causing the girl to flintch.
She clammored to her feet, grabbing her chin as it bled freely, her wrist hurt too and she had a feeling it wasn't exactly in great shape, but her chin definatly felt worse at the momet.
"If it wasn't for the fact that the cart probably just saved my life," Kia gasped as she ran up next to Maiyu, "Then I would have smacked you upside the head for scareing the ever living @#$@ out of me..."

Anthro7 Maiyu gave pause at the top of the steps and turned to make sure they weren't still being followed. Satisfied, she moved along the nearbye wall and knelt down by Kia.
She watched as the younger girl whiped off her chin and couldn't help but look away. She scrounged around in her shorts pocket and fished out a portion of a bandana, then offered it to Kia.
Her ears pricked, suddenly, and her head shot up. She didn't move, nor show signs of close danger, but she appeared to be distant. Listening, perhaps...
"Kia..." she said, after a while, "We should keep moving..."
She stood, still staring off into the distance, then brought her mask back 'round front and offered the younger girl her hand. OOC: Son of a @#&@... Kia smiled and accepted the bandana, pressing it tightly and then tieing it the best she could over the wound.
As she took the other girl's hand and stood, she looked over her shoulder to spy the pigmie demons finally making thier way over the steps.
"Aw, hell...they don't give up, do they?" Kia ask and complained at the same time.
She turned and ran, not letting go of Maiyu's hand as she did so, knowing full well the girl would be able to keep up. As they made it towards the edge of the roof, Kia suddenly let go of her hand.
"Go ahead..." she said, gasping for air. The world was spinning around her; she was exausted and feeling light headed. "Keep going, I'll...distract them..."
She looked around but found no loose pipes or anything, all she had left was the broken handle of her broom. She turned and held it in her hand like a bat.
"Come on, you little freaks, do you worst..." she glared, trying to appear strong even though she was about ready to pass out.

Kyo skidded down a small flight of stairs that didn't make ANY sense in his idea of how a city should be laid out, then booked across a parking area. In the open, the large armed beast was able to gain ground quicker and the pounding footfalls were the tip off.
[rolls dice]
Miraculously, he managed to cross the parking area before being caught and ducked inbetween two buildings. The area was too thin for the beast behind him to get through, but he heard a resounding KABOOM as the creature tried to destroy portions of the buildings to clear the way.
Before that was accomplished, Kyo had slipped out the other side and took off again. Sweat was pouring off of him, half from nerves. A large nearbye building stood with its double doors wide open and he slipped in. (The hope was that there was a sink somewhere that he might get some water...)
(But I wonder if there will be something in there with him?)

Maiyu shot a glance over the edge of the roof. There was a fabric overhang on a window below them - perhaps a shop front? Maiyu gently, but firmly grabbed Kia by the upper arm, pulled her close, whipered, "Roll when you land," and shoved the girl off the roof.
She turned to face the piggie pigmies. "Little far from New Guinea, eh boys?" she smirked, walking toward them. She brought one hand up to rest on a cocked hip. "So... Ya gonna fight me for her?"
That damned little red butterfly shot past her again, but she ignored it.

Kia barely had time to react as she saw the ground coming towards her. She turned and rolled as she hit the shop front, which pulled from the wall, but slowed her fall never the less.
She turned and looked up at the roof. "Maiyu!" She cried. No responce.
"Damn it all..." she muttered as she stood up. Her ribs hurt, her chin hurt, she had nothing left to defend herself with, and she was still feeling light headed and woozy.
Holding her side, Kia looked up at the sky. "Please tell me the bad luck is done. I just want to get to the center and get out of here...."
Not waiting for the Pigmis to find her, Kia turned and hurried the best she could down the street.
