Well, newbies and people looking for a challenge could be good candidates for the company deal. Remember, MOST armies will get such deals. Makes me wonder how many men and Chimera's the Imperial Guard company deal will have lol

If they did a super-value Guard box (which I doubt, because that means I get to keep my pension plan - GW wouldn't agree), then I'd consider it.

Well.

I'm hanging back until I know the exact contents of the set and until I have the last essentials of my current army.

I found this Chaos heavy weapon. Look at the stats for its scorpion cannon, OMG. Apocalypse has some uber powerful weapons, including the rumored Strength "D" weapons.

106 marines and 9 Rhino transports. The box says so. A Space Marine company is made up of ONE-HUNDRED marines of various types. Seeing as this will most likely be a standard 2nd-4th company lay out, this means that the box contains six Tactical squads, two Assault squads, two Devastator squads and one command squad + company commander.

Breaking things down into easy to compute chunks, this means that each squad with the exception of the two assault squads has a transport ready.

Lemme think...
IF a single Marine troop choice is similair to that of a Guard troop choice...
*pokes calculator*
And Guard infantry buys in bulk...

In easy terms, the marine box contains one HQ choice, six troops choices, two fast attack choices and two heavy support choices plus nine transports for all the troops on foot.

If we are to apply fuzzy math to the Imperial Guard company, we can assume that the kit will most likely contain two complete platoons (read 100 - 120 Cadians), two or three heavy weapon squad boxed sets (that's well over 27 heavy weapons if used properly) and maybe some Chimeras - two or three. No metal models are included of course, as these big boxed sets are PLASTIC only.

As for the strength D gun, I DON'T KNOW, it could be a titan-killer designation for all we know.

The strength D guns are the large guns that come on the titans and heavy weapons. It basically means that if you get hit by it, you die, no armor save, no invulnerable save, no roll to wound, you are just dead. They also auto-pen.

D=DEATH
Also, I dunno if this has been mentioned yet, but Necron players get some awesome stuff.
Rumours are that Pylons have strength D weapons.
Confirmed Necron Phalanx box for $90 containing 2 Monoliths.
Also rumor has it that When 2+ monoliths are within line of sight they generate a "shadow field" that gives all nearby Necrons +1 to their "we'll be back!" rolls.
I thank the C'tan for the blessings I am about to receive.

Jeese this will make for some awesome gaming. So in speculations that most armies will get a company box, who do you guys think are likely to be the first few out??? (with the exception of marines and guard)
