For a moment, both Keegan and the boy just stared at Ziggy, and then at Althena, trying to understand what had just happened. Finally, the boy recalled his Pokemon, looking a bit humbled even as he glared daggers at Keegan. "Fine, you won. It's not like it was a big deal or anything. I hope Wattson teaches you a lesson," he growled before stomping away and out of the gym.

Keegan watched him go, kneeling down beside his Psyduck to congratulate her on her victory. "Those psychic powers of yours certainly are something," he said, recalling her into her Poke Ball and standing up. Several trainers were watching him suspiciously, and he flashed the lot of them a devilish smile. "Any other takers?" he asked calmly, to which each pair of eyes averted their gaze, and slowly walked away. Still grinning, Keegan looked around, wondering where the next switch could be. It was then he spotted Dante, immersed in a battle of his own. Levi was encased in ice and rolling around on the floor towards a rather energetic-looking Poochyena. "Go get 'em, Levi," he said to himself before he continued his search for the switches that would lead him to Wattson.

"C'mon out Nightmare!" Mitsu said determined to take the victory of round two. The massive blue and white Gyrados appeared with his trademark roar. He looked up at his opponent and then at Mitsu ready for a command. "Heat things up with a Flamethrower!" Mitsu instructed pointing at the Tropius. The poison was taking its toll, slowly but surely.

A tad bit too slow in response the Pokemon was caught in a stream of red orange flames. The attack was much more effective than Sapphire's Ember would have been. "Tropius is a high level isn't he?" Mitsu commented seeing the Pokemon had survived the attack.

Ken smirked. "Of course. Would you expect anything less?"

"No. No I wouldn't."

Turning back to the matter at hand Ken issued what appeared to be the Tropius's final attack. "Solarbeam!" Golden spheres began to glow in Tropius's mouth as he began to collect energy from the remaining sunlight to make one devastating attack.

The charging was taking longer than Mitsu had expected, but that was all right. It would work to her advantage. "Another Flamethrower!" Mitsu said. Nightmare breathed the flames towards the still Tropius when he too fired his attack.

The two attacks conflicted. At first they both seemed evenly matched slightly going one way then the other. However the Solarbeam proved more powerful and began to steadily push back the flames. "Don't give in!" Mitsu called out to Nightmare over the roar of the two conflicting attacks. "Keep going Tropius!" Ken shouted. Mitsu gazed at the weakening Pokemon, Tropius looked considerably weaker. "One final burst Nightmare!" Mitsu instructed.

Nightmare looked as if he roared and flames shot out creating and even bigger pillar of red-hot fire. The attack overrode the Solarbeam and burnt Tropius to a crisp. Sapphire's Smog attack hadn’t gone to waste. Not wasting a split second Ken recalled his faithful Pokemon and sent out his elegant Altaria.

Mitsu mentally oohed and ahhed. She adored the bird Pokemon. Nightmare's roar returned Mitsu from her daydream and back into battle mode. "Dragonbreath!" Ken instructed ready to take his second victory.

So it's part Dragon type then? "Ice Beam Nightmare!" Mitsu countered hoping the attack would connect and deal some massive damage even with the level disadvantage. The blue flames of the Dragonbreath hit its mark. Yellow and blue sparks crackled along Nightmare's scale. He winced at the paralysis. Mitsu bit down on her bottom lip. The Gyrados shot the Ice Beam at Altaria after taking the Dragonbreath. The ice looked like crystals as it froze over one of Altaria's cottony wings. The smirk that Ken had worn was now gone, losing Altaria's ability to fly was a big disadvantage. No matter though, he would still be the victor.

Lombre stared at his opponent with vacant eyes. He was napping inside of his Pokeball again and was, again, woken up with a battle. Couldn't Kilik call him out for something less strenious? Like a lunch break? Whatever the cause, though, he was loyal to his trainer and grabbed the brim of his leaf, bidding a 'Howdy' to his foe.

"Such a polite Lombre you have," Esprina smiled, "But manners don't make Pokemon stronger." Espeon let out a whine, wiggled her tail and waited for a command. "Espeon! Use Confusion!" The jewel atop the Pokemon's head began to glow brightly and a faint, rainbow colored wave burst from it.

The frog blinked a moment then snapped his bill. The Pokemon took the attack and then fell onto his back. When he stood back up, he shook his head. How rude. Give a compliment and then assault him? Strange way to treat someone. He hopped back a foot or so, then looked at his trainer. "Hit Espeon with an Astonish, Lombre!" Kilik called, looking at his frog. Lombre nodded and ran forward with his arm outstretched, slamming his foe right below its neck.

Rin dashed out of the Poekmon Center and headed for the gym. "Heard Bugsy lost to some kid earlier," someone said as Rin caught a tid bit of the conversation. "Could Miharu have already won?" Rin asked, talking to no one in particular. She had arrived at the gym in a record time despite the fact that it was hardly a few minutes walk away. Bugy was, of course, a bug specialist and the gym was laddened with tree and crawling with bugs. The blue haired trainer politely decline all requests for a battle and soon enough had found herself at the battle field. Miharu veruses Bugsy. Looks like she hasn't finished. Soon going to be two losses in a day. That's gotta hurt. "Go Miharu!" Rin cheered.

Both Cobalt and the young trainer had decided to venture away from the Fuchia City for now, instead they would head towards the larger cities. Smiling slightly Betty swallowed the lump in the back of her throat, they had been traveling for days now and yet they had not encountered one wild pokemon. How would she train her little Ghastly if there was nothing to training him against, letting the fake smile fade she stroked his smooth head and eyed the areas around her, there had to be wild pokemon about. Licking her lips some Betty edged away from the road she was on, she knew traveling in along the grassy roadsides were dangerous but at the rate she was going, she would never catch any wild pokemon or at least train Cobalt if she took the easy way of things. Nodding her head to herself more than her pokemon Betty began to rush into a thicket of overgrown grass.
"This is a stupid idea!" Betty yelped as she rushed down a hillside with a very confused Ghastly in her arms. Loosing her balance the twenty-two year old trainer slammed against the ground hurting her ankle as she fell. "Oh...great...I knew this was stupid," gritting her teeth through the pain she looked up with wide eyes as Cobalt made a startled sound as a wild Ekans let out a deadly hiss and opened its mouth. "REALLY STUPID IDEA!" she yelped and threw her arm in front of her face as her Ghastly snarled at the small undersized snake like creature. Catching her breath and regaining her senses Betty narrowed her eyes and pointed at the Ekans catching her Ghastly's attention. "Um...Cobalt...ah...I dunno...attack it! Do something Cobalt!"
With that the Ghastly smirked wildy, with a quick movement he flew with ease towards the unprepared wild pokemon, slicking out its tongue the Ghastly licked the Ekans.

Pookie was struck by the ray of Psychic energy, being knocked back quite a distance before stopping. The Pokemon made a strange noise that was oddly reminiscent of a whine, and he squinted at Magneton, unsure of whether or not he should attack. Pookie laid on the ground for a minute, setting its ground against the floor, trying to regain its composure. A short time later, the Rhyhorn got to its feel, and snorted a little bit. He rushed toward his opponent, his head lowered, preparing to use Horn Attack.

Surge watched proudly as his Electrode came around again to strike Weepinbell from behind, this attack slightly more powerful than the last one. "Keep at it, Electrode!" Surge bellowed, his voice thundering throughout the gym. "Show it no mercy!" Electrode emitted a static-filled cry, and continued to roll onwards, right for Weepinbell once more.

Jaeshan cringed slightly from the man's booming voice, silently wondering how he could be related to Kasiya - they were so different! "Watch out Weepinbell!" he called, but Weepinbell wasn't fast enough; for he was subject to a third pass by the Electrode. We've got to stop its momentum, he thought. But how? Weepinbell shook his leaves angrily, his two eyes fixed on the spherical Pokemon. "Weepinbell! Use Vine Whip! Restrain it if you can!"

Weepinbell blinked, but decided to give it a try, narrowing his eyes and watching Electrode closely as it came towards him. He waited for the perfect opportunity, and then sent out his long, singular vine like a lasso, catching the Ball Pokemon, but just barely.

Surge grunted in annoyance at having Electrode's Rollout interrupted, but shrugged his shoulders. "Electrode! Thunderbolt it! Show them the true power of electric Pokemon!"

Electrode hummed slightly, its round body crackling with electrical energy that was channeled into a surge that traveled up Weepinbell's vine, landing a decent enough hit on him, even though it was somewhat ineffective.

Weepinbell was also forced to let go of the Electrode, pulling back his long vines in a hurtful manner. Jaeshan could see Weepinbell was starting to look pretty tired, but he grinned and pointed at the opponent. "Use Giga Drain!"

Happy to oblige, Weepinbell flung himself forward, his eyes wild and hungry. Using his vine to secure Electrode, he pulled the Electric-type towards him, sucking his enemy into his gaping mouth, much like how he'd executed the move on the Poliwhirl earlier. Both Pokemon shimmered with a green light as Electrode's health was sapped in order to heal Weepinbell.

It was Surge's turn to cringe at Weepinbell's disgusting attack, but he started to laugh. "That was a big mistake, Baby! Electrode! Selfdestruct, now!"

Electrode, shaking slightly gave a muffled cry of agreement, and it started to shake and shudder violently as its body started to glow with a white-hot light.

"No!" Jaeshan cried, holding a hand up in front of his face as Electrode and Weepinbell (who's eyes were as wide as saucers at the mention of 'Selfdestruct') both vanished in a burst of blinding light, and a deafening explosion filled the gym's arena.

When the smoke cleared, Electrode was teetering on its side, eyes closed and a bemused expression on its face. Weepinbell was positioned about ten feet away, blinking in astonishment, and looking worse for wear.

Instant Krill

Magneton was unable to move out of the way quickly enough, and the Horn Attack made contact directly. It must've been a critical hit, for the magnet took quite substantial damage, even with his hard steel body. The three eyes narrowed further angrily; this battle was frustrating it, what with both Pokemon slowly chipping at the other with less-than-effective attacks and both Pokemon having quite strong defenses.

Jasmine realized this as well. Thinking quickly, she ruled out Magneton's naturally-learned moves and recalled a certain TM move that might move the battle along some -- it was powerful enough, though it carried its risks if it did not finish the Rhyhorn. Still, she had to be absolutely sure it hit, or it pretty much set Magneton back for a fatalistic minute or two. "Lock on, again, Magneton, and hang on," she commanded, determination running thick in her calm voice. Once again, the magnet took aim, ensuring that the next attack would connect.

It survived the explosion? But how? Surge thought angrily as he held up Electrode's Pokeball to allow the strange Pokemon to rest. It doesn't matter, Raichu will finish that overgrown weed in the blink of an eye. "Let's go, Raichu!" the large man bellowed, eagerly releasing his trademark Pokemon. The evolved form of Pikachu stepped onto the battlefield, rubbing his paws together fiercely. Static bolts rained from his yellow cheeks, and a glint of excitement flashed in his eyes as he studied both Jaeshan and Weepinbell intently. "Take Weepinbell out, now!" Surge roared, his booming voice shaking the walls and ceiling.

"Rai-ai!" Raichu cried, beating its paws on its chest as it lowered itself to the ground and raced on all fours towards Weepinbell. In a great display of speed and acrobatics, the mouse jumped up, spiraling around in the air, positioning its hind foot to deliver a deadly Mega Kick.

Weepinbell could only brace itself as Raichu's Mega Kick was planted firmly between his eyes, knocking the already exhausted Flycatcher Pokemon out could. Jaeshan said nothing, and returned Weepinbell to his Pokeball. This is it, he thought, glancing up at the speedy Raichu, who'd already returned to his starting position in front of Surge. "Let's end this! Mightyena, I choose you!" the boy hollered as he called out his ever-faithful companion. Mightyena appeared in a flash of fur and fangs, snarling angrily at the mouse Pokemon before him as he activated his Intimidate ability, knocking down Raichu's attack power. It's my turn to show no mercy, Jaeshan thought, deciding there and then that he wouldn't allow Surge's mere presence unnerve him any longer.

Espeon let out a whine. The attack, being a Ghost-type attack, dealt a bit more extra damage to her. Granted, the attack was weak to begin with and the damage wasn't lethal. She whined and her jewel began to glow again. "Psychic!" Esprina called.

Again with the TMs!! he thought in a very aggrivated tone. Lombre's body began to glow with a mysterious blue light and he was then thrown to the ground, hard. However, he managed to survive with a smile. He nodded, then ran a flipper over the brim of his hat. When he heard a demand for a 'Giga Drain', he was much obliged to inflict as much damage as possible on Espeon. Six clear orbs fired outward, colliding with their intended target.

The Pokemon's body felt like stingers were hitting its body in random places. Her energy was fading, and she watched it float away to her opponent. "Healing yourself while damaging me!" Esprina giggled, "Such a powerful tactic!" She pulled her sleeves up slightly and smiled, "Espeon! Attack with Confusion!" Another rainbow wave came forth from the Psychic-type's jewel.

Lombre hopped up into the air, narrowly dodging the Confusion and then landing with a soft thump on the wodden stage. When he landed, his trainer called for another Astonish, and Lombre ran forward, hitting Espeon in the same spot as before. The foe wavered against his touch. Hurry up and lose, dammit! Kilik thought, clenching his fists.

Pookie scampered about for a minutes as his opponent took aim. He seemed to be trying to figure out some way to strike the Magneton before it got a chance to seriously harm him.

After a few minutes more of pointless frolicking and hopping around, Pookie rushed at Magneton with another Tackle attack.

Surge raised an eyebrow at the sight of another unfamiliar Pokemon. This boy must be from Hoenn, he thought, scratching the stubble on his chin. "Raichu, use Thunderbolt!" he shouted, folding his large arms across his chest.

Raichu growled, and once again static poured from its cheeks, scattering themselves on the ground before vanishing completely. He rubbed his paws together, then stood up high on his hind legs, summoning a large bolt of electricity that streaked out towards Mightyena.

The dark Pokemon growled, taking the attack on the chin. The experienced fighter was far from finished yet, and at Jaeshan's command, he gave a high-pitched howl, raising his attack power a bit before sprinting forward. His sharp claws scraped the tiled floor as he gained momentum and thrust himself into the Raichu with a vicious Tackle attack.
