"Oh no. I'm not meeting anyone. Across the river it is," She recited, eying the river and Cerus' wide smile. Kendra took a step towards the noise of the river, and waited for Cerus.

Cerus smiled again and followed Kendra as she walked towards the river. As they walked, the sound got louder until they were at the river banks. The river wasn't too big, maybe about 15ft across, and water was only lazily drifting downstream. There was no danger for now. Cerus turned to Kendra and bowed slightly. "Ladies first..."

"Hmn," She mumbled in response. She took her long tail's tip, and dipped it lightly in the water, testing the temperature. After she was sure it was tepid, Kendra hesitantly placed her front paw in, almost slipping on a round stone. As she stumbled, she splashed some water up, and slid forward into the river. She shook herself off, trying to regain dignity, and forced her way forward, pushing apart the water in front of her with the sheer mass of her body. With some difficulty, she trudged on, the weight of the water pushing on her sides.

Cerus chuckled softly as Kendra slipped a little before following her in careful, unsheathing his claws to get a better grip of the slippery river bed. He walked alongside her, enjoying the feeling of the water through his fur. "Not a fan of water, Kendra...?" He purred softly.

Kendra narrowed her eyes at Cerus' teasing. "Water's fine...For drinking...Swimming's okay too, I used to do it a lot as a kit. I'm just having a little trouble walking," She retorted, not wanting to seem less able than him. She wouldn't admit that she didn't really like getting her face or ears wet. She picked up the pace a little, to show Cerus she was able of being more graceful if she wanted. Presently she reached the bank, and dug her claws into the shore to pull herself up. She stood on the sandy river's edge and shook her body free of the water, her fur fluffing itself up in a rather ridiculous way. She struggled to lick it back down to it's normal volume.

Cerus grinned a little before trying to look innocent as Kendra shot a look at him. He followed her out and shook himself as dry as he could. He was glad of the sun's warmth today and knew he'd be totally dry soon enough. He patted down the parts of his fur that had gone fluffy with his quick dry before looking over at Kendra.
"Well... what now? A random wander up the hill to see what's on the other side?

"Random wander sounds fine to me," She agreed, smiling slightly, after being a satisfiable amount dried, and she began to amble up the slope. The scent of lemon vaguely wafted up her nose, and she looked for the source, feeling a bit hungry. Hoping Cerus wouldn't mind, she became distracted once she spied a lush lemon tree, teeming with fruits, and gaited off towards it, eager to feel the bitter-sweet juice on her tongue.

Cerus got halfway up the hill before realising he could only hear his own feet on the grass. He looked back and saw Kendra beneath a lemon tree. He turned and trotted down the hill to stop beside her and look up at the tree. "Hungry?"

"Hungry, yeah," She grunted, shortly before plucking a lemon from a branch, setting it on the ground, and rolling it round, inspecting it. When she decided it was satisfactory, she bent down, licked the smooth skin first, and then sank her teeth into. Kendra made a good, clean slice in the fruit, that took up about half the lemon. She squeezed her eyes and lips shut as the sour liquid splashed across her palette. She gulped it down, smacked her lips, and then grinned feebly at Cerus.

Cerus raised an eyebrow at Kendra before looking up at the tree again. He set his front paws up against the trunk as he reached up for a lemon of his own. Copying her, he checked it for ripeness before taking a chunk out of it. He tried not to swuint too much as sourness spread over his taste buds.
"Whoa... zingy."

Kendra laughed at the silly word Cerus had used. He was a real character, she thought to herself. The female quickly swallowed the remainder of her lemon, before the full impact of the taste could bother her, and then said, "Come on, let's keep looking," even though she didn't particularly want to find anyone else.

Cerus smiled a little and finished the rest of his lemon too before headinh up the hill. He took it slow, in no real hurry to find anyone anymore. He was enjoying Kendra's company. He reached the top of the hill and turned to look at Kendra.

Kendra had already reached the hill's peak as Cerus walked up beside her. He was looking at her, right in the face. Kendra cocked her head at him and squinted. "Ehh?" She mumbled.

Cerus realised he was staring and looked away quickly, blushing a little. He looked in front of him and his eyes widened slightly. There was a beautiful pool before them, surrounded by lush grass. The water was still and clear and it glistened in the sun. His jaw dropped a little. "Whoa... nice!"

After Cerus' attention was stirred, Kendra looked in the direction he was now gazing, awestruck. "Nice?" She cringed at the thought of how cold the water must be. Instead of jumping in, she turned and pushed Cerus head over heels into the pool.
