I sure as Hell know that I'm going to make a character and use another units stats, if not more than one.
Imagine Abaddon with a sex change operation. wink

Ok well I didn't read through all the post, to many. So I don't know if anyone posted more of the specifics Farsight. He is, in my opinion, the only ay to go in a big battle for Tau. He allows you eight suits, him self included, in one unit. That is one unit. Then the commander you have to take cause it say you have to. Then if you want three elite units running full suit squads. So that means you can run about 20 plasma rifles and missile pods, minus one for O'Shava. That alone is devastating. But I am talking about a big battle. That is like 1,000 point by itself.

I suppose he would be good for Apocalypse. Since all 0-1 restrictions are removed from your army, you could field him without worrying about his downside of reduced unit choices. Still, you wouldn't be able to field Kroot, or Vespid. Most people couldn't care less about the Vespid, but no Kroot could be a dealbreaker for some people.

Thinking on it further, I suppose Farsight wouldn't be great for Apocalypse if you were planning on using his 8-suit bodyguard. That unit would just be 10" Baneblade blast fodder.

Well, seriously, have you read the Apocalypse battle report in this months WD? Any infantry die in droves, both to Apocalyptic weaponry and to superheavy explosions.

Oryn Well, seriously, have you read the Apocalypse battle report in this months WD? Any infantry die in droves, both to Apocalyptic weaponry and to superheavy explosions. Had 10 Chaos marines, a unit of 3 Bikers, and a Daemonprince take out a baneblade. I'm sure 8 Fusion Guns deepstriking within 6" will work well enough, along with the 16-some missile shots.

Yeah, but then the Baneblade's engine goes critical and takes out the whole unit. In the battle report, an critical engine hit blew up Baneblades twice, one of which took out 5+ squads of Marines/Termies/Spawn that happened to be near it. EDIT: Checked the store copy of Apocalypse yesterday. A superheavy going critical deals a S9 AP2 hit to every model in 3d6". That would wipe the whole unit unless you gave them all Shield Drones and Shield Generators.

Yeah Well Farsight has a shield generator and it wouldn't be hard. Hardwired Drone controllers to put everyone with two shield drones. Drones have to die first.
