"Well, we, as in Peter and me, met a while back. That chemistry exhibition thing. I recognised your voice when you pulled up your mask the other day, and the bottom half of the face looked familiar. I just figured since you knew who I was, I should let you know I know you too." said Zero, dangling from his knees.

"That's it! I knew I'd seen you somewhere before! Sam Makhent, of course..."
"Honey, who are you talking to?" muttered MJ, as she lifted herself up on her elbows to look Peter by the window.
"I was uh.." as Peter whipped round he realised Zero was gone, or had turned invisible, "no one, baby, go back to sleep."
"Dude, meet me on the roof." he felt a voice whisper next his ear, "Bring your mask."
Peter went to his closet and pulled out his costume.
"I thought you were staying in?"
"I was, I'm sorry, I just need to clear my head. I can't sleep anyways." he said as gently as he could, he kissed her forehead and left his apartment for the roof.

As Peter walked through the roof access to his apartment building, he pulled on his mask, the finishing touch to his costume.
Zero stepped out of the shadow he'd been sitting in. "I just saw a few guys heading for a warehouse across the river, if we hurry we can get there now."
"Wait. You wanna go fighting crime?"
"Why else do you think I suggested bringing the mask? Though you should know, they weren't exactly your typical grunts, they had katanas, and were wearing ninja masks. I believe they're called the Hand?"
As Zero stepped into a shadow, he grabbed Spidey's arm and pulled him in after him.

An hour later...
"Phew... that was intense." said Spidey, pulling strands of green goop off of his costume.
As Zero opened another shadow portal to presumably teleport him back to his apartment.
"I think I'm gonna take the scenic route... That shadow dimension creeps me out."
Spidey stepped to the kerb and shot a web to the building across the street, "But if you ever need help, like I said the other day, Spidey Signal. TTFN" he tugged on his web line and swung into the air.

Zero turned into his own portal and stepped into his bedroom, and fell straight onto his bed. He fell asleep pretty quickly, and didn't even bother to take his costume off.

A new day came, an old day done. Elisabeth embraced her coffee as she sat at a chair outside of a local coffee shop. She wished she could just change her lifestyle here in New York. She honestly had no reason to be here in the first place. She felt so out of place, but at the same time she waited for something to arise. A calling. An opportunity. A better coffee flavor. In the end, it was all the same and just another boring day.
Elisabeth flipped through the newspaper as she sipped her coffee. The same old stories grew in town: this guy was robbed, fire killed "x" number of people, Spider-Man saved the day. News got old fast. There was a small blurb about a "John Doe" that was in a coma due to a shooting. So sad.
Elisabeth finished her coffee and decided to trail off into the city for something better to do. Sleep? She couldn't remember what real sleep was like for a while now.

As he rolled out of bed, after only... four hours sleep, Zero straightened up and streched his back. "Those creepy ninja dudes know how to inflict some serious pain." he grumbled.
As he opened his window a crack, he picked up his costume that he'd throw off when he got home, tryig to avoid the parts covered in zombie ninja, and threw them into a bag.
He had a quick shower and took his washing to the local laundromat, cause his building's machines were broken or something.

"Wake up honey, I gotta go to work." said MJ.
Peter sat up and she lowered the tray of breakfast onto his legs, she kissed him and said goodbye, before leaving for some photoshoot or theatre job. "Thank you" he called after her, but the door had already closed.
He finished the tray, eggs and bacon with a glass of OJ, and pout the dishes in the sink. He brushed his teeth, had a long shower, he was pretty sure he still had a lot of Hand remains on him, and flopped down in front of the tv, he didn't have to work today, thank the lord.

Traci hadn't slept very much that night. Aside from the little nap in the playground's tube, Traci had only gotten about an hour of decent sleep throughout the rest of the morning hours.
She yawned as she walked down the sidewalk, listening to her stomach growling. She checked her pockets. She had no money this time. Traci sighed as she looked around the area. There was a Food Mart across the street. Traci stopped, wondering if she should...
Her stomach growled in utter irratation for not being fed properly. Traci rubbed it for a second before making up her mind. She crossed the street and entered the Food Mart, looking around. She went straight to the Meat Department and looked at all the different uncooked steaks and shrimp. She licked her lips as she stared at each of them.
"Need something, kid?" Asked the man behind the counter.
"Um...yes. Can you wrap up a pound of shrimp, and then...this steak right here..." Traci pointed at the meat through the glass. "...for my mom." she added. The lies came naturally after so many years.
"Sure thing kid. Let me pack it up for ya and then price it..." he mentioned as he picked it all out, weighed the shrimp, wrapped everything up and stuck a bar-code on it. He handed it to Traci without knowing what her real intentions were.
"Thanks." Traci said as she accepted them and walked away, going down the aisle with cokes and other drinks. She grabbed a six pack of Big Reds and then headed to the bathroom. She went into a stall, locked the door and packed the meat subtley in her sweater. It didn't look unatural the way she put it, and she was happy about that. Next, she picked up her small bag and stuff the big reds in it. Sure, it looked a bit bigger than when she had come in, but she figured not many people paid attention to that.
When she was satisfied, she slung her bag over her shoulder and headed out of the bathroom. She tried to look inconspicuous and normal as she headed to the door at the front of the Food Mart. She received little to no stares at all as she made it out of the slide doors and turned down the sidewalk.
She sighed with relief as she made it, and then became less tense as she continued walking.
"Hey! Hey you!" Traci heard a voice behind her, and she didn't even look back before she decided to run.

Spidey landed on the wall, one storey up, as the flame haired shop lifter ran down the street. He hopped from the wall and swung onto a pole, from there he aimed and shot a strand of webbing, catching the young girl in the small of the back, he shot another and tugged her to a halt.
"Naughty, naughty" he said as he dangled in front of her face, "You know you gotta pay for those, young lady."

Meanwhile, at the Xavier Insitute For Gifted Youngsters...
Logan was just waking up from sleep, wearing only pajama pants. He walked to the window, watching the students use their powers free of human prejudice. These kids got it lucky, he thought to himself, getting changed into his uniform for another day in the Danger Room. Some, on the other hand, don't. He got on to the comlink next. "Colossus, Ice Man, Shadowcat, Luminaria, meet Storm, Deadpool, and me at the Danger Room in twenty minutes. Don't be late!"

At first, Traci thought it was a hand that grabbed the back of her and pulled her to a hault, but when she turned around, she recognize it as a spider web. She knew who had her now...Spiderman. She gulped for a moment. She was in trouble.
She looked back around, and his face was right in front of hers. "I would have." Traci mentioned as she touched the web, making it look like she wripped it off, but-in fact-burning it. "I just can't..." Traci mentioned. She wasn't going to give them back. She looked back, seeing someone who worked in the store coming her way. Her stomach growled loudly. But she didn't want to get in trouble...
"Here." Traci said as she shoved the meat in Spiderman's face, and then took the drinks out of her bag and left it on the ground. Then she brushed past him and began to walk fast down the street hoping that they wouldn't keep trying to catch her...

Elisabeth walkled down the sidewalk, too busy in her mind rather than her surroundings. As she passed the corner of a building, her body collapsed with another. Both of them fell to the ground. Elisabeth shook her head as she slowly got up from the ground. Her eyes met with the other individual. The girls eye's seemed to be full of fear as she glanced from Elisabeth to the direction she came from to back at Elisabeth.
"Wait a minute, it's you!"
Elisabeth remembered the girl. She was the one running away from some guy. There was no doubt that this was the same girl. Elisabeth glanced behind her to see what had the girl so worried. It was Spiderman.

Spidey dropped to the ground and backflipped over the girl, tilting his head theatrically looking her up and down he said "Lemme guess... runaway. Right?"
He slid his hand into his costume and pulled out some cash. He stepped round in front of the girl as middle aged security guard panted and wheezed his way towards them.
He shot out a thin web line and tugged the meat and drinks into his other hand, he held out the money to the security guard. "Here, she must have 'forgotten'. Take this."
The guard looked at Spidey and round to the girl, "Awww hell Spider-man, I can't let her get away." he glanced over his shoulder at the small crowd that had formed. "Uh..." he raised his voice, "well if you wanna take care of her Spider-man, I'm not gonna try and stop you." he took the money from Spidey's gloved hand and returned, through the crowd to the store. "Nothing to see folks, come on." he said, waving his hands slightly to disperse the mini-crowd.
Spidey turned to the girl, and then to her friend. He placed his hand on his hips and said cheerfully, "Well, well. Hi Betsy, long time no see, I almost took you off my Christmas card list." He stretched out the food and drinks towards the girl.

As Zero pulled his clothes free from the dryer, he glanced at a crowd on the sidewalk across the street. Spider-man was putting on some kind of performance. With a young girl, and a woman who Zero recognised as Elisabeth Braddock.
Zero stepped to the large shop front window, he could feel the shock and awe of everyone in the crowd, the fuzzy emotions that were Spider-man's, the fleeting fear of the girl, as well as some conflicting emotions, presumably belonging to Elisabeth.
He idly rolled his clothes up and threw them back into a bag, being careful to keep his costume out of sight. He tunred away from the scene at the window and got back to work, he'd have to catch up with the Web-head later and ask him about this. "When the working day is done, girls they wanna have fu-un, oh girls just wanna have fuuuuuun..." he mumbled, tunelessly.
