The tainted hues of one betrayed by the very gods who had given him life caught the attentions of the bird's perception, the red-rimmed orbs slowly observing the details of a fresh anger that spread over the teen like thin spider veins lancing through the miniscule rivulettes the flesh offered. He'd seen such vibrant anguish before. He now knew of wounds that spoke of forever bond, his own appendage ravaged by the toxins of some creature of some child's disturbed mind. Illness to, albeit kind enough to spare the surface further infliction, had spread amongst the raw nerves, the energy a sharp contrast to the rest of his being as viral parasite fed on his living tissue. The heron could not claim to understand whatever the teen had experianced, but the tender youth could claim emotions that had swelled within the delicate structure, things he didn't fully comprehend - but knew that had already washed over the other as the bitter seas washed salt into ever gaping flesh.

The Heron looked at the others, at the scars they held, or the markings of memories forged with time they had rightfully fought to earn. They weren't blemmished...they weren't yet damaged goods. But yet - would given the choice, such beings who knew more of the world and it's joy would refuse him spare themselves from fate's unknown agenda for whomever was offered up into the emptiness of these creatures realms, the psychotic corridors of a haunted mind - or perhaps something entirely beyond tangible understanding. A loving gesture...He knew it had already wordlessly been offered, in it's own way. The sensation of mute happiness rippled through the energies...

But then he turned to Diacyn and gave one sad, apologetic look as his beak parted. "Diacyn...I ask you this to do for me...Find my girl and tell her that I will come back for her one day, and please take care of her while I am gone. You will not know her by mere sight, but by the tears in her eyes and the bruises on her neck. You to I shall miss - and my bretheren...but the time has come for us to part."

And there, before any could question what the beautiful one had done, he rose from the bed and brought himself before those who now determined his fate. The fragile neck craned out, and the obsidian optics fell shut in peace as he lay his head in the hand of Siahndi. Their protests of his actions would strike him as would a dull blade, but the bird moved not, waiting to see if his life had been acceptable payment for one who he deemed precious.

And time moved. Hylusis shrank into herself like a trapped animal, and was silent. He eyes roved slowly from side to side, watching each character chart out their own course across the fabric of space. Foreign and familiar intertwined outside the confines of "her", colliding into each other with heavy words like stones.

The ground trembled while staying still. Today there was gravity in the vaccum of space.

The room was steeped in unrecognizable scents. This thing, that thing, thrashing on the ground like snakes. Words appeared and disappeared like water through her fingers.

She didn't like it here. She wanted something she could recall. A something she could draw herself in relation to. Something she understood.

She sought something to unfold. There were some strangers clustered together hypothesizing the end of the world (or something). There was a nest of spiders in the other corner. She was getting confused...

Hylusis wanted a few things. She wanted to find the others, she wanted to find Shanuh, and most of all she wanted to go HOME, without anyone missing. She kicked at the white white ground. She wasn't sure what was going on at all, but she didn't like it.

" Hey!" Hylusis said, steping out of the flock of dazed children, " You guys aren't gonna let him do that, right?" She looked to the teenagers seekingly.

"Done."

A simple word that would soon cause so much hell. Savius' questions were ignored, all thanks to the innocent offer of the heron. Fool of a bird, really. . . . Did he knew what he was getting himself in to? Did he understand exactly what he had given up? Oh, such a silly creature to do such a thing! Such a silly creature indeed.

The energy in the room suddenly seemed to shift. The room began to fade, began to melt. Puddles of random shimmering colour began to form before turning in to a hazey mist. The fish, the bed, everything began to transform in to a pale fog. . . .

Tendrils reached out for the heron, reaching in to his substance before wrapping tight around ankles and wrists. Pulling him forward, urging him closer to the red and pink haired reborn.

The tendrils almost burned, raw energy imprinting itself upon the guardian's flesh.

"Did you hear that?" Calytae whispered, gaze growing dim and unfocused. His words weren't meant for any of the guardians, but for someone - or something - else. "He's no longer yours to command."

Each of the guardians suddenly felt a stabbing sensation deep in their gut, a feeling that wasn't quite physical in nature. It was reminiscent of paper being shredded, strip by strip. Yes, one of them was leaving the group . . .

The Heron had made his choice, his sacrafice.

As the walls melted, so did the heron. Piece by pice, first a finger, then a toe, then the tips of the wing, then the calves of his legs. Dripping, burning, there but no there, physical, mental, emotional, magical - everything that once made up the heron became null and void.

Chivalry would soon be dead, and a new fate would be born. To the guardians who witnessed such a scene, the agony could be felt. Molicule by molicule, on an atomic level monsieur heron was turning in to goo. It wasn't a particularly pleasant sight, and the smell was noxious.

Of course this wasn't death, the sweet kiss of their touch was far from present. This was something else entirely. . . .

For the heron, agony was an understatement. One could feel his insides turning in to goo, his magic being drained, and his body twisted. It started with a burn and fast grew in to sensation that held no definition. As his everything began to fade, to melt in to the chaos world, he could feel bone, nerve, tissue, molicule change. Inch by inch, the world began to grow up around him as he shrank in to . . . nothing.

So kind was this world that his sight, and then finally his nerves, were the last to disappear.

For the fellow guardians, it took but a few moments before the heron was gone. The entire room had vanished as well, leaving Calytae and Siahndi standing properly before them.

Snapping a finger, a bucket appeared, a silver liquid akin to the colour of mercury settled within it. "Now take your beloved and be off." There were things to do, heron's to acclimate.

Kicking the bucket, it slid over and slowed, stopping infront of the guardians with a little splash.

They'd never specified exactly what state they'd wanted their companion back. So here he was . . . . A puddle of goo.

Chaos sure did have a sense of humor.
