Synrai's cold eyes gleamed in the shadowed mist as he parried the blows dealt by the creature's black knives. He had sensed the Fallen's movements only seconds before; as though he fought against himself. The dragon had noted, for perhaps a millisecond the humanoid had stepped towards the summoner. He himself had struck Axys a far from lethal blow, but it had been enough to enrage the Tainted one...
So, he thought savagely, these creatures are prone to certain weaknesses after all. Perhaps I can make them turn on one another... yes... Synrai took to the air again, spinning like a sideways top over Suriken's head using his momentum to turn himself into a veritable sawblade. He landed behind the Fallen on his hands, and backflipped like an acrobat across the clearing.
Meanwhile, Axys quickly healed his wound, using some of Cerberus' strength. He had been anticipating a furious reaction from the dragon, but nothing like this. It was as though the Silverwing of old had resurrected himself. Indeed, the dragon was quite graceful in battle, as though he were dancing. Nevertheless, Axys was tired of observing. He raised a claw, and held it over his head. Tendrils of shadow emanated from his palm, wrapping around his wrist like a living bracelet. He dashed forward, staff raised. This time, he would be prepared. Silverwing, as expected leaped out of harm's way as he saw the man cross the clearing in such a frenzy....
The dragon opened his talons like an osprey diving for a fish. His eyes burned like white fire, intent on crushing the man beneath razor-sharp claws. A jet of ice issued from his open maw as he descended...
Synrai gasped in surprise as the man leaped mid-stride, his staff outstretched. He quickly swept aside the paired blades, and pressed his palm to the dragon's chest. The dark energy swirled about for an instant before sinking into Synrai's flesh...
All the man had to do was step forward, out of reach of the jet of ice. He planted his staff directly below the dragon...
Axys pulled his hand away, and the energy dissolved. Synrai made no sound, but his features relaxed as he toppled onto the earth, his blades making a metallic thumping noise as they clattered on the ground. The shield around Reyen diminished immediately, as Synrai struggled to relieve the terrible pain that had engulfed his torso using magic...
Dimly he heard over the pounding in his head Axys' voice somewhere over him. He swallowed a bit and tasted a bitter metallic tang. He'd accidentally bitten his tongue.
"Fool," the summoner muttered. "Did you honestly think you had a chance? Lord Riven will prevail..." He paused as Synrai struggled to stand, his body trembling. After all, the older dragon could not let anything happen to his younger brother...

Wyvern practically tripped in his excitement to get into the water. Like Link, he stayed in his human form, finding the water easier to maneuver through now that he was smaller. It had been a while since he'd gone swimming in this form, so it took a while for him to get used to it again. Once he did, however, he began swimming towards the center of the pool where he'd seen the sunburst of green. It wasn't difficult.
Being a dragon meant he could hold his breath for quite a while, even while in his smaller form. Synrai had made him train to hold his breath longer anyway, just in case something like this were to happen; though Wyvern hadn't the slightest clue why he should worry about that then, he was glad he'd had the lessons now. He supposed it was just in case the air was poisoned... or something like that...
Wyvern quickly came over the light, and dove deeper, feeling his eardrums groan from the pressure at such a depth. Something golden shimmered beneath the light, and it suddenly struck Wyvern what this thing was.
An Elven ship! he thought excitedly. Most elven vessels were made from trees that had over the centuries been grown so that they formed a platform. They were usually hundreds of years old. The Elves used their Earth element to propel the ships through water, air, or even between worlds. Wyvern smiled at the prospect. He'd never been offworld before. What an adventure! Without waiting for Link, he swam to the green orb, which turned out to be the very top of the ship. It seemed to be emitting a forcefield around the platform below, keeping the water outside. The young dragon touched the forcefield tentatively. It was squishy.
He pressed a hole hand to the bubble, and felt the dry air on the other side. A little more bravely, he swam in, yelling as he felt the unexpected weight of gravity.
Thud.
He'd landed flat on his back, and groaned as he sat up, looking for Link. Perhaps she'd been right to say they should have stayed away from the ship. He rubbed the back of his head gingerly...

Link followed Wyvern closely, but gave him some space at the same time. As they neared the glowing object Wyvern had described to her, she realized just what it was. An Elvin ship. Curious as to why it was here, she brought her eyes off of Wyvern for just a moment. At the wrong moment, unfortunately.
Before she knew it, Wyvern had gotten himself sucked into the ships little air bubble and was plummeting to the deck.
CRAP!
Link swam after him desperately, pushing herself into the bubble and extending her wings just as she got inside. Her wings allowed her to drift down to the deck where Wyvern was.
“Wyvern!” she scolded, “What on earth were you thinking?!”

Reyen made no attempt to intervene, yet kept his little protective wind shield around Synrai. Finally, though, Reyen would make his move. It appeared as if the dragon had taken a beating and was now on the losing side. "Good thing my power was there, or he could have been very injured or possibly killed." Reyen though to himself only thankful that Synrai was still alive.
Now Reyen removed the shield around Synrai and put it around himself, but much, much more reinforced. He concentrated his wind power around Syrnai,. but instead of making a shield he formed two discs of circulating air. The discs made a sort of high-pitched whistling sound and were launched at Axys. One hit the ground and easily tore through it before going up to hit Axys. After the discs were launched an extremely high wind followed after them, capable of easily blowing fair sized trees around.
Like a blur, Reyen made it to Synrai's side. If they weren't concentrating hard enough, it would have probably appeared as if Reyen had appeared right by his side, coming from no where. "Do you honestly want to stay and fight or shall we retreat?" Reyen looked over at the three opponents, his weapon drawn if Synrai did decide to stay.

Synrai was as surprised by the sudden appearance of Reyen as Axys was. The summoner raised a staff just in time to block any real damage done by the disk of wind, but he was thrown backwards into the forest. Synrai was truly thankful that Reyen had stayed, even though he'd told him to leave. He knew he was in no condition at the present moment to fight, and it probably wouldn't prove anything anyway. The best they could do would be to tell the others what had transpired and formulate some sort of plan.
"I cannot fight like this," Synrai murmured weakly over the howl of the wind. Fight? He could barely even stand. With a last effort, Synrai used his water magic to repair some of the damage done by Axys' attack. The pain lessoned somewhat...
He collected his swords, which by some stroke of luck had fallen right next to him and sheathed them...

Reyen was glad that Synrai was ready to leave. He had been defeated already and the same fate would most likely fall on Reyen. As much as it pained him to leave, they must. It's not like Reyen got too much involved in the fight though. If they had begun exchanging several blows than he might have reconsidered. But now, they had to go out of there before Axys and his allies got back.
"Let's go." Reyen simply said as he took hold of Synrai's arm. His massive wings unfolded and his magical wind surrounded Synrai. With one powerful pump from Reyen's wings the duo was sent high up into the air. Carrying Synrai was quite simple due to the fact that his wind surrounded the younger dragon. His eyes trailed back down before he left, into the forest where he had last spotted Axys. "There is no shame in defeat, so long the soul remains unconquered. I'm sure you'll get some other opportunity to battle with him again." With that Reyen left the battle field, by flight of course.
Reyen's eyes looked around for Wyvern, but the problem was he had no idea where the young dragon was. "I cannot sense Wyvern or Link. Several minutes ago they simply vanished from my senses. I'll take us to the last place I sensed them, but no guarantees they'll be there. Can you sense them?" Hopefully they were not hurt, just came upon something unexpectedly. He didn't feel any dangerous presence around. Something happened though.

Synrai started as Reyen hoisted him into the air, and then relaxed. He was glad the older dragon had taken the initiative to do so, because he knew he would have felt awkward asking for assistance, and he knew he could not have made the journey on his own. Besides, he could now focus his energies on repairing the damage done by Axys' dark spell and locating his brother and Link.
“Thank you, Reyen,” he said quietly. “I did not want to get you mixed up in this, but I am grateful that you intervened.” Synrai knew it would have turned out badly for him had Reyen done as he asked and left, though the younger dragon deeply regretted that he had been involved. Axys would not forget the dragon who had rescued Silverwing from certain death… or worse. What had the summoner meant when he said that Riven needed someone with a strong body? Yes, he knew they would meet again in the near future, and when the day came, Synrai would be more than prepared. With that in mind, he turned his thoughts to the present, full of worry as he realized that he too, could not sense Wyvern or Link.
"I hope nothing has happened to them," Synrai said quietly. "I cannot sense them right now, but perhaps when we arrive..." His voice trailed off as another spasm of pain wracked his chest. He closed his mind for a moment, and the feeling passed.
He tried to open his mind to his surroundings in an effort to find some trace of the two other dragons...
~~~
Wyvern gazed up at Link from the floor of the Elven ship, still a bit dazed from his fall. She was signing furiously at him, and it took him a minute before he realized he was being scolded. He felt a bit guilty; after all, this was not his ship, and he'd probably worried Link with his antics.
"I--" words escaped him, "I've never been inside an Elven ship before." He blushed, feeling very foolish. He took another look at Link and grinned sheepishly. “I guess we’d better leave…” Wyvern got to his feet, glancing around as he brushed off his pants. The ship was fairly large, around twenty or so feet tall, and circular in shape. The floor was woven of interlocking roots, whose tips stretched outside, absorbing nutrients from the watery environment. Leafy branches extended within the ship, greenish orbs pressed within the bark. There were two or three cavernous openings in the trunks of the trees; rooms of some sort, Wyvern guessed. In the center of the floor of the ship hovered an enormous sphere that was the same size as the one projecting from the roof. The young dragon resisted the urge to go and touch it.
The vessel looked as though it had been here for ages, but Wyvern knew that it could be ready to travel at any moment. He wondered how the Elves drove the thing. He thought it might have something to do with the orb at the center of the room…
Link shook her head and brushed away wet strands of hair. Wyvern could be a pain, but she knew to be patient with him, he was still a bit young after all. But she would never forgive herself if something happened to him. When she thought about it, he was like a little brother to her, and she felt like she should do a great deal in the part of keeping an eye on him. This made her even more uneasy about the situation he had gotten them into.
“Come on.” She pushed, “Let’s get out of here before someone comes up and sees us. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be too fond of a couple of dragons gallivanting around their ship. Plus – Synrai’s probably looking for us by now.”
Wyvern nodded. He was a little disappointed at not being able to explore the rest of the ship, but he supposed that he'd seen enough anyway. And Link was right; Synrai was probably looking for them right now, and there was little chance he or Reyen would be able to sense them under all this water. He got up, and headed towards the edge of the vessel, where he placed a hand on the wall.
It held fast.
Wyvern pushed with all his might on the edge of the transparent bubble, but it was like trying to walk through solid rock. The young dragon panicked. What were they going to do now? What if they ran out of air? What if they were stuck down here for weeks without food or water or anything else?
"Link, I think we have a problem," he said worriedly, turning towards her so that she could read his lips.
Wyvern tried to compose himself enough to think up a plan. He remembered Synrai saying something about not panicking in a bad situation; the only thing it did was to confuse you even more. Clear thinking was key...
Maybe they could blast their way out? He discounted that course of action almost immediately. If a fire were to catch in here, they'd be burned alive. He gazed at the orb in the center of the room, gleaming innocently in the half-light. The Elves used Earth to drive this thing...
He gazed at Link, thoughtfully.
“What?! You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Link walked up to the sphere surrounding the ship and touched it as Wyvern had. It was solid, unlike before when they had gotten in. If she could have groaned she would have but instead she just sighed frustratedly. She felt like kicking Wyvern for being so stupid – for getting them into this rap. Resting her head on the sphere she gazed out into the water. What now?
Glancing over to Wyvern, Link noticed that he was giving her ‘a look.’
“What?
It wasn't long before the two were long gone from the scene. Reyen was no longer concerned with being followed by now. Instead he was concerned about Wyvern and Link. What had caused their disappearance? A few things came to his mind yet none of them seemed very probable. There was no other entity around them, unless it was completely masked from Reyen. That'd be difficult to do though, because the two simply disappeared instantly. Or his connection with the two broke up. He was only with them for a short time. Or maybe...
No. That was impossible. Either way, his attention was brought to Synrai as he thanked him for earlier. "Think nothing of it. For none just worry about yourself." Reyen concluded as he dove down towards the ground, stopping only a foot away before continuing forwards. Even though they were at fairly high speeds Reyen had no problems dodging the trees, bushes and other various things in the way.
Reyen finally came up to the place where he lasted sensed them. He eyed the water and simply said "You have got to be kidding me." How likely was it that such a young dragon could come across such a place? Not very. Synrai seemed old enough to know what this place was. "You'll have to tell Wyvern not to snoop around anymore." Reyen said with a slight humor.
Reyen walked up to the water and looked down, a crooked eyebrow showing itself. "Heh. Feel like travelling?"
"Well," Wyvern said slowly, "you're good at using Earth magic, right? And the elves use Earth element to move this thing around, right?" He looked at Link, pausing for a moment so that she could consider the options. "So..."
Wyvern trailed off, his gaze shifting to the sphere in the center of the room. He himself had no clue how to fly this thing; but he wondered if Link might be able to find out how. Maybe this pile of leaf litter had a built-in instruction manual or something....
"At least we'd be out of this water," he reasoned. "Then Synrai and Reyen would be able to sense us more easily. Maybe you could tell this thing to let us out."
~~~
For the first time in quite a while, Synrai was baffled. He realized where they were the moment they had entered the vicinity. This was a pool that a group of Elves used to land one of their vessels in. But how had Wyvern discovered such a place? Though, Synrai reasoned, it had probably been completely by accident. His younger brother had a knack for getting himself into trouble.
Knowing him, he had probably wanted to explore the pool, and gotten himself caught in the ship. Naturally, Link would follow. He sighed as much out of fatigue as exasperation, and slid quietly to the ground, running his hands absentmindedly through the soft sand. His head was pounding; if only Wyvern could have stayed in one place… it would have made this whole ordeal that much easier…
“Traveling?” Synrai repeated blearily. Yes, that would probably be wise. Axys and his accomplices would be along soon. It would be best if they could get off world with the summoner so close.
First, though, they had to warn the Elders that there were Fallen on Celestir; and for that, they needed to travel to the Temple. In his present state, he knew there was no way that he could make it to the Temple, let alone jump between worlds. Normally dragons were able to cross the abyss in their larger forms by themselves. It had been two decades since he had done that… or even shifted into his draconic form… was he still even capable of shifting? He chuckled bitterly, wondering if he had forgotten how to fly…
Feeling lightheaded and ill, Synrai pressed a hand over his heart. It still hurt terribly. Perhaps if he rested a bit, he’d feel better. Yes, sleep was exactly what he needed at the moment… would Reyen mind if he slept here for a minute or two? He supposed not, already slumping sideways on the sun-warmed sand, closing his eyes…

"Well . . ." Link motioned thoughtfully, "I can controll this ship from where I stand. I've been on one of these ships before -- learned its workings. The only way I could get it to let us out is by getting it to the surface, but that's not nearly as easy as it sounds. Normally these things are flown by at least five to ten people in conjoined effort. Plus, because we're so far under water there's got to be thousands of pounds of pressure put on this thing. Just me pulling this thing out of the water is improbable -- not impossible, improbable . . ."
Link frowned slightly, looking to Wyvern. She felt sort of responsible for them getting into this in the first place -- she had let Wyvern go wandering. So, naturally, she felt she should get them out of this rut. It would be difficult; who knew how much it would drain her. Rarely had she ever moved something so large on her own, and that was above water.
" . . . But I'll try . . ."
Link took a deep breath and widened her stance. She put her hands out in front of her slightly, palms facing the deck. She could immediately feel the earth mechanisms of the ship and which ones she needed to use to get them up. This was not going to be easy.
Pooling her energy, she concentrated on getting the heavy mechanisms to move. They didn't budge. Taking another breath she pushed herself harder and the ship seemed to shudder as the earth within it moved. Slowly -- ever so slowly-- the ship began to rise; water fighting, trying to get it to stay put.
Link put all she had into moving the ship. It continued to rise and she continued to tire, but she couldn't stop or they'd never get out. The ship rised for what seemed like an eternity and finally the very top broke the surface and she saw the light of day.
But Link's job was far from over. She had to get the entire ship out of the water or it would never let them out. The strain on her body was beginning to take its toll as her strength waned, though the ship never stopped moving, her powers never faltering.
Just a few more feet now . . . just a few more feet.
Link pushed the last of her energy into getting the ship just a little higher. As the last of the water dripped from the surrounding forcefield of the ship, it began to dissinegrate as she had seen it do when she had last been on an elvin ship.
As soon as the forcefield was gone, Link eased the ship back into the water. The ship kept afloat and Link let go. To exhausted to even stand, she collapsed, toppling forward to the deck -- her entire body shaking.

Wyvern gazed at Link as she lifted the enormous ship. She had amazing power, but lifting such an enormous weight obviously put strain on her strength. He stood amazed as she finally lifted the ship above water, before collapsing onto the deck. Clearly, if he were going to travel, he'd never use such a device. He bent down next to the white dragon, smiling despite the fact that she was exhausted. He was impressed.
"Wow," he said, "that was amazing! Are you okay?" He looked at her, a concerned expression on his young face. He wondered if there was anything he could do to help. He felt very guilty for getting them in the predicament in the first place, and his smile disappeared almost immediately.
"I'm really really sorry," he said finally, bowing his head. "I shouldn't have been so rash..." His gaze shifted to their surroundings. The organic ship glistened in the sunlight, its green orbs reflecting the light of the sun like so many precious stones. It was truly a wonder to behold. He glanced at Link again.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" he asked uncomfortably, too intent on finding a way to repay Link for his folly to notice the two dragons on the shoreline...

Reyen stood by Synrai as he slept. He would have to wait for the younger dragon to awaken before he could do anything to help the two from getting out. That was, until, Reyen watched as the ship itself rose above the water. "Interesting..." He thought to himself. She was able to activate the ship, and Reyen could use it to go to the Temple. That wasn't his first destination point, but by thinking about it a little more he decided it would be wise to tell the elders. Not to mention that's probably what Synrai would have done.
Reyen put one of Synrai's arms around him and slowly lifted the dragon up, trying not to awaken him. He flew up onto the deck of the ship and looked over at Wyvern and Link. "Is there anything I can do to help?" Was the last words that Reyen heard Wyvern say.
"Actually, you can help by getting this ship to the temple." Reyen said as he lightly laid Synrai down against the railing. He looked over at Wyvern and immediately said "No time to explain. Get going." The last thing they needed was for Axys and his group to catch up to them. That would be unfortunate for all of them.
Reyen got up and walked towards the orbish light. he looked over at Link, whom he assumed was the cause of the ship moving. "Very interesting."
