As night progressed the inn grew quite and the laterns were extinguished as the guest retired to their rooms. It was a calm clear night, the cool air gently laped at the faces of the guest through their windows. The sound of a small creek that ran along the building, could be heard through out the inn. Its soft gurgeling sound was very comforting to many people.

The sene was full of bright red and orange colors and the emotions intense. It was hard to tell at the moment but there were four figures standing on a deserted pleatue. Two were standing, one was kneeling and another was just struck by one of the standing figures and it fell. The one who struck the other was a person who wore dark armor and had terrible red eyes that could pierce your soul as they burned through its helm. He weilded a large sword, with an ax blade like tip. The blade itself was rusty and covered from hilt to tip in dark red blood, possibly from the one he just struck with it.
The other three people there were the members from the group Epotheros was currently traveling with, except Larien was not around. Epotheros was unscaved due to the blade had not been turned on him. He had done nothing in the fight, and was still fresh. Tramer was wounded, perhaps mortaly and was try to stand up by using one of his swords as a support. He had done his share in the battle but was not enough to even harm the man who wore the black armor. There was a woman lying on the ground, covered in her own blood from the attack from the sword the black armored warrior used. She was dead, her face pale and lifless and her eyes glazed over. The woman was Clover, who had also fought a brave fight and lost.
The man who wore the black armor, then raised his sword and pointed it at Epotheros. A jet of cold, musty air full of death came from the holes in his helmet around his mouth. "You were too weak to stop me and thus you have lost your friends. This fate will be yours if you do not find your composure. You doubt your abilitys so you fail to use them properly. If you want to protect something, you must say "I will protect it." If you do not want to be cut, you must say "I will not allow you to cut me," and if you are attacking you must say "If you are attacking I will cut you!"
With his knowledge past on the man raised his blade and swung it down towards Epotheros, who woke up in his bed at the inn, drenched in a cold sweat.

"It was only a dream.... but the images were so vivid and painful."
His breathing was fast paced and he could feel his heart pounding against the inner wall of his chest. He tried to fall back to sleep but was unable to, so he got up and decided to take a walk outside. The floor boards creaking under his feet as he walked down the hall and stairs to a door that lead to an outside garden. The brisk early morning air mixed with the sweat that covered his body which caused him to shiverer a few times as he walked sown the garden path.
As he walked along the ground his dream kept flashing through his mind. Larein was gone, perhaps because she had run away a few years ago admists a battle that had besieged Epotheros and her while they were searching for an item deep in the forest. He did not hold a grudge against her for doing that though. She had no reason to help him and it was not her duity to get the item so it was not worth risking her life. He won after all with hardly any injuries, so there was nothing to be sore about, other than the fact it may happen again and he might not be so lucky.
Tramer in his wounded stated flashed in the back of his mind next. Epotheros had respect for him in that he would fight until he would die. He also was a little reckless and impulsive as witness with the large amount of energy he lost in the fight against the hell hounds, though Epotheros had not a lot of room to talk with the fact he used a very powerful spell against something that he could finish off with a weaker spell of less than 5% of the power he used.
The image of Clover lying dead and bloody was the last image that he thried to remember. It was the one he would least want to revisit, but it stuck in his mind. The details were painful for him as she was the one he wanted to protect the most from danger since the run in with the hell hounds. He knew that she was lucky that when the beast had her pinned she was able to kill it because it had the advantage to kill her. She was not used to killing anything other than humans and was also not specialized to close combat. There may be... no there will be challenges like hat in the future and it will only get harder down the road.
He stopped and looked up at the night sky. "It will be a few more hours till morning," he said before sitting down on the stone floor of the garden path his thoughts still racing through his mind. He was not used to fighting in a group, because he was able to rely on his strength to watch out wor himself. Now he had to watch out for the others as well, and they would have to watch out for him as well. "Perhaps, all I need to do is find my composure again and all will be well."

As I meditated the sorceress keep flashing into my mind almost braking my concentration I remembered her as the twisted monster that had killed so many of my friends but I also remembered her as a young and shy girl that at one point I trusted with my life one question keep flying thru my head as I meditated “how is she alive” as I sat there I could since Larien in a tree above me I could since everything around me the trees the animals everything I continued to ponder about the sorceress but in the end I decided it was pointless I needed more information I then opened my eyes and to my surprise it was dark I laughed silently to myself “I must have been here all day” I stood up and pet soul on the head then we started to heed back toward the town I didn’t take long to get back into the town I as soon as I did I heeded strait for the inn

I then entered the inn it was dark everyone else had long since went to sleep I quietly heeded toward my and Epotheros’s room I was just about to grab the door knob when a surge of pain rushed though my head I stumbled back and lend agents a wall I then herd a female voice inside of my head “well well well it was u I didn’t recognize u at first it has been along time my old friend” the voice female said “I don’t know how u survived but I will kill u” I replied to her scornfully she then laughed “how did u and ur friends like the playmates I conjured for u” she said while somewhat laughing “if I would had known u were there I would had stayed and made shore to had killed u and ur pathetic friends!” she said now showing the madness in her voice “stop this quest forget about the relic and u wont have to die” she said now sounding concerned almost sounding like the person I once knew “I will not stop this quest for if will give me the chance to finish u that is all the resign I need to continue” I replied angrily “so be it but be warned u have no idea the powers that r gathering to recover this relic and that they will crush u and if u survive them that I personally will have my chance to repay u for r last encounter” she said angrily and then was gone

I then walked back over to the door I started at the door knob for a long time before opening it and the entire time I was thinking “this is obviously no ordinary artifact we r going after what could it be?” I then opened the door quietly were saw an empty room it surprised me I expected to see epotheros sleeping I looked at his bed the blankets were all tossed out of the way so he must had been here earlier I then sat on my bed “what do we do now” I said to my self at I rubbed my face in frustration knowing what it took to kill her before and how many good people had died doing it and then what worried me more was what she had said about the other powers gathering to recover this relic what did she mean “who else was after it” I thought to myself as I sat on my bed unable to sleep

Clover tossed and turned in bed as she relived the encounter with the hellhounds and the troll in her dreams. This time instead of shooting the troll dead she asked the wind for a safe escape. She flew away from them all. The wind carried her away as she wished. Only in her dreams was she able to fly. Never in real life could Clover ever expect the wind to carry such a heavy burden.
Clover’s eyes opened. She repositioned herself and starred up at the ceiling. She could tell that morning wouldn’t show until many more hours. You can’t just run away. She started to debate in her head. Even though you’re not as strong as the others, you can still help. You can’t abandon them, not yet. Rolling over to her side, she attempted to sleep once again. This time she tried to clear her mind so that she wouldn’t harvest such weak and selfish thoughts. An hour passed before Clover finally drifted back to sleep. Fortunately this time no dreams plagued her mind.

I tried to lay down and get some sleep but I could not get the sorceress out of my mind I got out of bed and decided maybe going for a nice relaxing walk might help ease my mind so I left the room and started heading out of the inn

Still sitting in the tree tears streamed down Larien's face. She rubbed her hands down her back over the numorous scars that plagued her smooth skin. Why had she run into Epotheros again. Her last adventure with him had ended in bloodshed and tears. She never blamed him for not knowing what had happened. She had too much pride to just walk right up and say she was taken away. Leaning back on the tree she covered her shoulders and back once again to cover the angry memories of her past. Sitting quietly she watched the horizon and waited for the sun to rise. She didn't even feel like singing for a beautiful day to come.

As then sun crept over the distant hills Epotheros decided to get every one up. They needed to get to going, because a storm was coming in today. Epotheros could smell it in the air.
"I guess I should go get the others up, and get a meal ordered for us."
He then made his way to the door, and went over tot he bar counter to order four meals of eggs, an apple and some fresh milk. He then went up to Clover and Larein's bed room and knocked on the door and waited for some sounds of stiring.
"It's time to get up. Get your stuff together and come downstairs."
He then woke Tramer up and gathered up his things and headed down stairs and seated himself at a small 4-person table. Soon enough the orders came as the waitress placed them down in front of him and the tree empty chairs.

Clover stirred as she heard knocking on the door and Epotheros‘ muffled words. A large yawn escaped her mouth as she sat up and began to stretch. She looked over to the other bed. It was still vacant. I wonder where Larien is. She decided that Larien must of perferred staying in a different place and was fine. Clover made her bed and gathered her things. After she felt fully awake she headed towards the bar. Gazing over the tables of people she noticed Epotheros sitting alone with breakfast waiting.
“Good morning,” Clover said as she sat in the seat across from him. “Did you sleep well?” For some reason Clover had more energy than usual. She felt refreshed and quite happy. She blamed it all on the hot springs, and the busy atmosphere of the inn.

"I didn't have a great sleep is all I can say. I had this dream that bothered me so I was unable to fall back asleep."
He had wished he had not said that and tried to divert his attention by looking at his food, which was in all means tempting by it self, considering he was very hungry, but tried his best to mind his manners and wait for the rest to show up.

“Oh, sorry to hear that,” she replied quietly. Her mood lowered slightly, but she kept a bright look on her face. She wanted to have a good day. There was no reason for her optimism to falter now. The smell of the eggs tempted her. She tried her hardest not to look down at them. Instead she observed the room and its occupants. Many people ate happily, some still shown sleep in their eyes, others were wide awake. Clover tried to think of a new subject to get her mind off of eating right away. She knew better than to start eating before everyone was present. Unfortunately she couldn’t think of anything to speak of, at least not anything pleasant.

Slowly climbing down the tree Larien wiped the tears off her face and headed towards the hot springs. Hunger gnawed at her stomach as she slowly submerged in the soothing water. Her body soaked up the warmth of the springs and finally relaxed. Climbing out of the water she dried off , dressed, and headed to the inn to meet the others.
Walking into the in she saw Epotheros and Clover sitting at a table with food in front of them. Walking to the table she sat down next to Clover and didn't make eye contact with anyone. The daily pain from her scars was fading faster than usual with the help of the hot springs.

"So Clover, how did you come to be a murderer?(old english term for hit-man.) You seem to be such a sweet girl..."
He paused for a moment before apologizing for asking her a very personal question.
As he waited for Clover's response he noticed Larein walking in the door and coming over to the table.
"Larein, you look like you had a rough night."
