Oh wow, that sucks. I would just take them because my stomach would keep hurting, and then I realized what was causing it.

Ahh.... Yeah... *sigh* I'm really careful about tablets now... I pop ibuprofen too often, now, but I kinda feel they're the lesser of two evils... I haven't taken my codeine since I mixed it with alcohol on a LONG flight and passed out and had stomach pains that required me to go to a doctor (this was when I was at the end of my holiday) and cost me $300 for visit and meds! *stares* Thankfully, my travel insurance covered it... But... Yeah... No more codeine for me unless I really really REALLY need it! *Stares*

*haha* I don't know... You can get it over the counter at pharmacies here. Low does of Codeine... 12.6mg per tablet... Stronger doses are prescription only... When I was in America, cos you can't get it over there, I brought a whole lot with me... And then had to get my brother to send me more (was there 7mths and I get such NASTY migranes...)

Oh, I had no idea you couldn't get it over here. Probably because they're a substitute for something else (over here, anyways).

*shrugs* I think it's cos they're so strong... They don't come in the low dose we have available over the counter... You can only get codeine with a prescription... I asked my friend in Edmonton who works in a pharmacy... *hehe*

Oh, haha, makes sense. But then again, Canada isn't a part of the United States, so I have no idea how it is here in the states. I never needed it before.

Yes, I hope the same. I haven't gotten injured too badly yet. The worst I've done is bust my lip open. Even then, I didn't need stitches.

codeine is like vicodin, basically. highly addictive. there are reasons that it's not allowed over the counter in the u.s. and i'm shocked it's allowed o.t.c. anywhere.

I wouldn't say that the United States has a screwed up system if drugs are being prescribed over the counter elsewhere when it isn't here... They're just trying to keep us safe.

CUZ - I'M SO SORRY OUR PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO STOP PEOPLE FROM GETTING ADDICTED TO PAINKILLERS, LIKE IT SOUNDS YOU ARE. FROM READING YOUR POSTS, YOU ARE WAY OVER-MEDICATED, AND AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE, I TRULY FEAR FOR YOUR HEALTH IN TEN YEARS. AND THERE IS NO REASON TO BAG ON THE UNITED STATES FOR BEING OVERLY CAUTIOUS JUST BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO POP PILLS LIKE CANDY.

AND THERE IS NO REASON TO BAG ON THE UNITED STATES FOR BEING OVERLY CAUTIOUS JUST BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO POP PILLS LIKE CANDY. something you ought to know @ hype. fpvs is not a fan of the united states. i dared (gasp) to try to give some advice and got cursed out and told off and then was given a lecture on the bad habits of americans and etc etc etc. it's funny how people from other countries constantly rag on the united states. "this is why everyone hates the united states" is just one of the quotes from that rant. all because i said that she should make sure to get a second opinion from a doctor because i was worried about her. that's the last time i worry about a person a don't know. cuz she done told my a** off but good, lmao. haven't talked to her since. and won't. not til i get an apology. cuz it was some uncalled for america-hate for no good reason. you never see me talking nonsense about other countries. and i don't appreciate people who don't live in a particular country talking s**t about others. (that goes for you @ hype - sorry, aklorian, unless you suddenly moved to australia). i'm not trying to start a fight here - i'm trying to explain where her comments appear to be coming from (from my view, of course, and i could be very wrong) and prevent a fight from happening, cuz after reading your post @ hype, it seems like a fight is about to be a'brewin', lol. i had the same issue with someone who likes george bush, where i am very anti-bush. you just can't talk politics with some people, cuz they freak the hell out. ya know? we can't all be nonchalant about certain topics... but some of us can try, and hope for the best.
