"You'd need FitzCherries before they'd do that, lovey." Sippa giggled. She was no breeder- but it was clear enough how to solve that ...dilemna.

Caroline breathes a sigh of relief, though she contains her curiosity about the FitzCherries. "A hundred couplets it is, lass," she says, reaching into the purse at her hip. "And dinna spend it all in one place, ye ken?" she winks. She smiles at Rojiza, who claps her hands gaily. "What breed did ye say the wee birdy is?" she asks Sippa.

Lorelei smiled briefly before moving back to the serious subject at hand. "I no have magic of I. But other muffin- gypsies have magic of them." She giggled a little. "Word close sound." She wasn't sure why, but Clostho's language seemed to equate gypsies and baked goods.

Lorelei pondered a moment. "I past lived here in. Would keep out me? Hm. ... I tell other gypsies, mm?"

Another moment. Vanna shifted in her arms. "Would you dinner need? Food I have."

Despite herself, Clostho laughed. "Troggoros- muffin... Troghoro- gypsy. Yes, they are very close. You are doing very well, though, Sister-Speaker." They had equally shaky grasps on each other's languages, and that made them kin, of a kind, battling a barrier of words and somehow crawling clumsily to the other side. "No- you won't... be kept out. But just know that they may make you feel... strange, if any of the White Magic Sect see you in the Port. And no thank you, I have eaten today. ...Will you all be coming to the Light-bearing ceremony? It starts tonight, and begins the Festival Days. It is near the City Park."

((@Kimie: somehow "the little bird queeped" sounds SO darn cute, I went Aawwwwww.. XD))

Sippa's smile spread wide. "Oh I only get a percentage of it for the sell price. The rest of it goes to my sister, because even though Mamma says she's too young to come out and trade, she still did all the work with them, so I only get the percentage price. But it's okay, because I raise and sell my goats all by myself, so I don't have to give anyone else anything except if I sell feedchokes with them, and then I have them made in Mulden. The Dove don't like us cutting down their trees. So we have to go into Mulden. Twiggle is too far away- and I hear the trees are haunted there. Don't want to go cutting those down. And to the south they've all been burnt up, I hear. So sad! But I've never been down there. I've heard I could get a good price for the goats, but all they want for trade down there is food, because after all the destruction they can't grow any of their own and they're so hungry. But even if it makes me rich I don't want to sell my goats to someone who's going to eat them. I've named them and everything. Oh- but I haven't named these," she tapped the crate again. "And the green one is a female Fortune. They are kinda ill-tempered, and don't like being with other birds... but that's okay, because the more birds they're with, the more they try and impress you, and bring you money and things. This one doesn't much like me, and she knows I don't own her. But she'll know she's yours."

Caroline laughs. "She's in for a ride, then. We've two other Banyas. Taog's stoic and rather stuck-up, and Finnean's a bit more mellow and social." She hands the coins over to the red-haired youth. "Best of luck with your goats too, lass," she says.

"Thank you! Those are nice bird names. I don't have any Banyas myself. But I'm hoping mother gives me one of her salamanders. They're fantastic." She took the money and weighed it with an expert hand, then subdued the little green bird the same way she'd done with the Peach, and handed it over to Caroline once the money was in her belt. "Here you are! Hope she gets along with... are they both boy banyas? The boys."

Caroline takes the little bird. "She doesnae have a cage or anything?" asks Caroline, confused. "Taog and Finnean I purchased both in cages."

Rojiza strokes the Banya's violent green crest. She's really quite lovely.

Sippa shrugged. "Sorry about that. I just sell the birdies. We don't cut down a lot of trees where I'm from, like I said- and metals are far too expensive to the east. We used to get all our imports from the south, but too little is coming out of there now, and the Gelms charge an arm and a leg for their metals now. So we tend to just sell them like this. The rings are easier to get than cages. But the Port's a big trading city. I'm sure you can find something."

"Aye," says Caroline. "Thank ye, lass." She curtsies janglingly, and she and Rojiza wind back to the caravan to introduce their new Banya to Taog and Finnean. "What d'we want to name her?" Asks Caroline absentmindedly.

Rojiza has some ideas already. She'd write them down when they got back to the wagon.

"Thank. Long year since study, only book words."

Lorelei tilted her head to the side, trying to recall information about the Light-bearing ceremony. Little snatches ghosted through her mind, but she was far from being able to pin anything down.

"Light-bearing?" she asked. Vanna squirmed a little, and she put the girl down. Her daughter immediately ran up to Clostho and tried to give her a big hug. She may not be able to understand a word those two were saying, but she needed attention, too!

(I'll make me a post just so I can have my character get into the action. It won't be long until I'm totally free to rp. Just one more week. ^_^)

DeArca could only walk down the tiny streets the port had contained. Such a place was truly beyond his own understanding since he never did leave beyond the town his lumber farm was near, nor did he understand the large crowds. Holding Ash tightly in his hands, he reached over, placing the curious mouse on his shoulder. "Hold onto me tightly, Ash. This place is a little too crowded to walk so freely." He asked

Ash squeaked, but he wasn't concerned at all about their environment. The sights, the smells, the people....it was all too exciting to just be nervous about it. With his curiosity rising, Ash wanted nothing more than to explore this wondrous port.

DeArca's eyes were perhaps the most excited part of his body, because he wasn't just seeing the sights, but looking for something specific. In his pack was his Tellbook, holding the answers to his questions from before about Illyana and his parents. According to the Tellbook, he would learn about his parents somewhere inside of the port and also...he would perhaps meet Illyana? Was that even possible? Only time could tell for him, and DeArca's patience was wearing down because of his anxiety to learn about Illyana's fate.

((That Lilas Banya still up for grabs?))

Heather sighed and nodded. "I remember the name now. Thank your telling me all that you know, it has been a great help. I will have to run now though as Kala has ran off and I dread to think what she might be upto." She turned to see some others heading in this direction and turned to smile at Val once more. "Thank You, it seems you have some wishing to see you so I shall return later maybe, I would like you to see Kala." She bowed her head and rushed off however the trader caught her eye.

She despised the Banya bird they had at the moment but the risk of it flying off one day was so great that another wouldn't do any harm. She rushed over to see if there were any left.

"Excuse me, If there is a spare Banya, please may i have one?" She didn't look to see if there was, which would have made sense to begin with. She smiled holding her hand at her waist where her money bag was kept.

Marissa woah'ed the oxen and stretched her neck to see ahead. Luckily, she's not far behind, so she can see most of what's before her. The Port already? Time flies when you're not trapped in a wooded prison.

Marissa admired the colors, the banners, the excitement of the Port. She felt like she needed this change, and she sighed, waiting for the caravan to settle. In the meantime, however, she would explore. Placing Kale in her hip-purse, she hopped from the wagon seat, and meandered towards the front of the wagon train.

A knobby-kneed, blonde Fermer man- he was six five if he was an inch, bobbed his way awkwardly over to where Marissa wandered after their caravan stopped. He grinned at her, and his voice seemed too deep for someone so slender.

"Greetings! Which festival have you come for?"

[o_o Woow. I leave for one day, and..! Haha, anyway, sorry about the absence~]

Marissa squeaked with surprise and turned- she had been rather absorbed in gazing at the goods that lined the streets. Hastily, she said "Oh! I'm sorry, you startled me." She craned her neck to meet hs eyes- he had to be nearly a foot above her. "Festival..? Oh, no I'm sorry, I'm just a gypsy. We don't often go looking for festivities- rather, the excitement finds us." She smiled pleasantly.

Clostho knelt down to take the little fae-like child in her arms in a great wide hug. She was not very familiar with children, and yet, loved them all the same. She spoke thusly, over the little one's shoulder, and nearly through her hair, so close was she to the beautiful, tiny creature.

"There will be magical lights coursing through the city, and light-bearing gifts. The ceremony, I have heard, is different every time. Very lovely. Unpredictable."

"But of course." Sippa gave the price, and waited, expectant for either couplets or questions. She was readily accepting of both.

He hiccuped a very loud, buoyant laugh. "How delightful! I would love for excitement to find me- we always have to travel to find ours. Do you know of the festivals? They are All Saviors Day, and the choosing of the Peress! How exciting, exciting. And you are a gypsy! Oh even more so." He leaned down, bending his knobbed knees to try and come closer to the woman's height. "Do you enjoy gypsy life? I've heard it's very engaging. Do interesting things happen? Or are those myths that we've heard?"
