The data on the Pokegear was correct, as a chilly mist swept through the forest. Brayden passed by a rock that was in the vague shape of a leaf, however he paid it little heed. Caliga, however, seemed interested in the boulder, sniffing it slightly, detecting that at least one other Eevee had been in the area. A long while back, though, she realized, as she trotted along after Brayden.

The two eventually sat to take a break under the large branches of an old oak tree. Brayden couldn't help but feel that they were being watched, and more than once looked up into the branches. He thought he spotted something scurrying in the upper parts of the tree, but passed it off as his overactive imagination, as he munched on one of the sandwiches he had brought along from the city.

Immediately spotting the small stream, Cye splashed into the water with a pleased rumble, sending water droplets flying as the Feraligatr cooled off in the water, looking like a strange, spikey blue log as he floated lazily on the water's surface. Brayden couldn't help but laugh as Caliga got splashed, hissing at the Feraligatr, before shaking, sending water flying from her fur as she sniffed indignantly, trotting up to pout under the tree, which was in a much dryer spot than the bank of the stream.

Gin'iro was next to appear, as the silver Ninetails stretched in a cat-like maneuver, arching his back as he trotted over to the water's edge to carefully get a drink.
After quenching his thirst, the Ninetails set out to grooming himself, way too vain to let his beautiful silver fur go unkempt. Gin'iro then set out to the tough work of taking a nap, choosing a spot on a large flat stone that lay in the sun. Sunning himself, Gin'iro yawned, and curled up to snooze.

Caliga returned to Brayden's side to watch the other Pokemon carefully. She still wasn't too trusting of them, and preferred her own company to theirs, but didn't really mind being around them as long as no one bothered her. Brayden was just glad he hadn't taken along Aella with him. The crazy Doduo would most likely be shouting at her other head at this point, and bugging the Umbreon to no end.

Ariadne had emerged from her Pokeball as well. The quiet Gardevoir had detected a strange energy in the woods. She also sensed the Galactic Grunt and trainer who were currently battling, but they seemed far off enough that they didn't pose any problems to Brayden. Satisfied, the Gardevoir set out to try to figure out where that strange frequency of energy was coming from. It seemed attuned to the woods, but was slightly different, as if man-made.

She seemed to be searching for something, but Brayden didn't know how. They hadn't been to the woods, before, so it couldn't have been something Ariadne remembered. She hailed from Hoenn, so she couldn't have travelled this far on her own either...

Deciding not to question her, Brayden instead chose to call out his last two party members. Sutekh emerged from his Master Ball with a roar, yawning as he sent sparks flying unwittingly. Gin'iro mewled in protest as the static caused by the legendary frizzled his fur, but didn't challenge the Raikou, knowing quite well his strength and agility would outmatch the Ninetails. Grumbling, Gin'iro simply rolled over, back to the Raikou, as he attempted to finish his nap.
Sutekh was unaware of the miffed fox. As he trotted over to the stream, looking to Cye for a moment, before stepping into the water. This sent sparks skittering across the surface of the water, but the master of lightning easily strayed them away from the lounging Feraligatr, a fact Gin'iro grumpily noted with a sniff.
