I'll try PMing the other mods, but I haven't heard back from the captain and it's been awhile. *wonders if the others have forgotten about this guild*

Well, if you have PMed them then... well.. they should remember. Unless they've forgotten about Gaia altogether.
You are a member of one of the other's guilds, are they active on there?

I didn't get a PM on any of my accounts ._. trust me, I checked. As for why I havn't been around, truthfully, this is about the first time I've been on Gaia in months. When I havn't been doing my homework, I've been working on my programming, reading up on game programming, or dabbling with spriting...I'm thinking of maybe trying to make a mini-2D game for my end of the year project in my programming class.
In anycase, I'll try and remember to keep checking back more >< I also need to get working on my writing again.

Either way is fine with me. I think between the three of us, I'm the most active in the guild. Anyways, we need to figure out how to get more people involved. Maybe we can hold a contest or something.

... I can't promote you >< I can only promote to crew, not VC. We'll need to drag Placebo on to do that...but I made your Subforum.
What kind of contest?

A contest for prose and poems. Get people posting. We'll use the post date to make sure that it's within the acceptable time frame.

What would be the rules, prizes, ect? I probably have at least 10k gold scattered among my many accounts, but that won't buy what most people want.
And who would be the judges? A select few who cannot enter? Or just have the majority vote(but then we'd have to worry about secondary accounts...like all of mine.[It must be very confusing for someone who doesn't know that I have a tendency to switch back and forth between them <<])
I've never organized a contest before.

The first prize could be a monthly collectible. The other places would receive gold though less than the first prize's worth. We can probably get some sort of donation thing going or have a small entry fee so that it will be larger than what we can offer.
Of course, the judges won't be able to enter. I figure if we receive a large amount of people entering, the judges narrow down the selection to maybe five to ten. Then the people can vote on them. We won't post who it's written by so it would be fair, and the people would judge it based on the quality though that leaves a problem in how they enter. Maybe they can PM the thing to one of the judges?

^_~ If I could make a comment about active-ness in the guild, it would help if people gave feedback on the work posted. Then if other people saw other people getting feedback, it would give them more incentive to post their own work because they know what they post won't get ignored. Once they realize that this guild is a place that will actually give feedback (and good feedback at that), they will visit the guild more.. possibly even posting more in the main forum.
More posting in the subforums = more posting in the main forum = more activeness.

I agree with Atekius, the commenting thing would be a nice feature, as it goes along with the actual point of the guild--feedback.
The monthly collectible would be a nice prize, but then I'd have to bug my mom to donate =/ or just go save up enough gold to buy a letter, one of the two.
The PM would probably work, then we could maybe post them on a thread (that way people can't edit them after they'd been submitted) so that the rest can comment on them.
e.e I'm not sure.
