Kayako took the locket from Rain and held to up to the light in front of her. It seemed familiar, but as usual she couldn't remember where she'd seen it before. Still, something told her it was very important to her in a way.
Lowering it, she undid the back and hooked it around her neck. Then, she turned back to Rain and smiled.
"Thank you....um, what's your name?".

"Rain," she said. "And you're Kayako," she added, eliminating the need for her to ask. "A man named Novak said that was your mothers." Rain looked at her with the same usual empty stare. So this is the girl the Ageha Squad was talking about earlier, she thought. What is it about her that has everyone so worked up?

"Well, thank you Rain."
She tucked the locket under her clothes and touched it with her hand.
'My....mother's? I don't even know who she was.....'
She hung her head for a moment, then looked back at Rain.
"Well, it's nice to meet you! We'll probably be seeing alot more of each other now that these idiots have me back."
Turning, she glared at the guards, who were tapping their feet impatiently.

"Ok," she resonded. "I'll see you later then." Rain moved out of the way so that Kayako's escort go continue down their way. I should probably head back to the room... she figured, thinking that the scientists wouldn't want her gone for as long as she has been already.

Kayako walked down the hall with her escorts, brefly waving goodbye to Rain.
'I wonder if they'll even let me walk around like that.....' she thought 'With my luck, they'll feed me some excuse as to why I can't talk to people.'

Rain watched as Kayako was led away until they disappeared behind a corner. Not wanting to linger and longer, she turned around and headed to another stairwell. As she ascended the steps, she thought to herself. I wonder if I really will see her again... she pondered as she listened to each echo of her bare feet against the steps.
Reaching her floor, she went out into the hall and walked down until she retrned to her room. The door opened and she walked in. The kids were still going about their usual activities. Rain's legs carried her all the way back to her bed against the wall where she sat down and started her usual staring contest with wall parallel to hers.
((Hehe, wow. Lots o' stuffs there. razz Hey.. I was wondering.. Is Kayako gonna end up in Rain's room/place? Or what? oO`))

(((Well, I'm guessing that they'd take her somewhere to check her over better after the crash first. After that, hmmm....I don't know! I'm guessing she'd end up there, but the higher-ups find her pretty important, so I don't know if she'd get her own room like Anemone.....O.o)))

A sigh escaped from Rain's mouth. Her eyes were half-open in that normal "dead" way of hers. She was still thinking about what had happened when she was out of the room. I don't get it, she thought. Why do they do this kind of thing to us and seem to feel so content about it. What is their purpose in doing this to us? Rain just couldn't seem to figure it out. Nothing about it made sense to her.
Not wanting to think about it any longer, Rain began to scan the room for anything that she can keep herself occupied with. Spying the guitar, she passed it up. That's all she ever did: play the guitar. She wanted something new, something different.
((I guess you could say that's the beginning of her change. razz ))

Kayako yawned, stretching her arms and walking down the wall. She didn't feel like waiting. The scientists that had checked her over after the crash had left her alone in a room near the edge of the building, while they'd gone to discuss her 'living arangments'. Of course Kayako, seeing no sign of that b*****d Xellien, had decided that she was sick of their official business, and had left to wander around her 'home', leaving them a note appropriatly adorned with a drawing of a smiley-face sticking out it's tounge.
'Besides' she thought 'If there was any worry of me escaping they wouldn't have left me by myself with an unlocked door anyways!'
Walking silently, she came across the place where she and that other girl had met on her way inside. Remembering the way she'd gone, Kayako turned, peeking around the corner of the wall to another hallway to make sure no one was there before starting down it. There seemed to be no signed of anyone in the whole building.
'They must be all gathered in one place....'
She kept walking, curiosity to see the other parts of the facility getting the better of her again.

Rain couldn't find anything else to do, so she just played the guitar again. As she sat crosselegged on her bed, her fingers plucked and strummed the strings as fluidly as water ran in a stream. What she was playing was a song she never played before. She couldn't really explain it. She didn't understand how she could just play something she'd never heard before. She contemplated how it might have happened as the notes continued to flow fromthe guitar and around the room.

Kayako rounded another corner, looking carefully to make sure that she was still alone. She could here the sound of faint music somewhere nearby, but she wasn't entirely sure it was a good idea to go looking for the source.
'Well...like I thought before, they wouldn't have left the door unlocked if I wasn't aloud to be out here!'
She clenched her fist and headed down towards the sound. Stopping at an intersection of hallways, she listened carefully, trying to pinpoint the direction the music was coming from, which wasn't entirely easy to do with the echoing created by the empty space.
'That way....'
She turned to her right and went past a few doors, making her way to the other side of the building. As she turned a sharp corner, the music suddenly became louder, much louder. Near the end of the hallway, a door sat open, the sound of a guitar flowing out of it in waves.
With a little hesitation, Kayako walked over to it, and peeked around the corner. Inside, she saw a bustle of activity, a complete contrast to the dull silent environment of the rest of the facility. And in the corner, the same girl Kayako had met before, playing her song and seemingly ignoring everyone else around.
She stood there silently, listening but keeping still, not sure how the scientists would react if they found her there.
(((Tolly or Rekka, one of you make the next scene!)))

((I'll do it, since Tolly obviously hasn't been here yet. razz ))
The scientists were too preoccupied to notice that Kayako was watching from the door. As for the kids, it was the same; they were playing and running all around the room. The only person who did notice her was Rain. When Rain saw her in the door way, she stopped playing.
Upon doing that, she set the guitar next to her on the bed. She tried her best to pretend like Kayako wasn't there, and from the expression on her face made it seem like she never even saw her. What is she doing here? she pondered in her mind. Wouldn't the scientists get mad?

'She must've saw me....'
Kayako stood silently behind the door, glancing over her shoulder slightly in case anyone was heading her way. She figured that she could always go back to her room, but she'd wandered so far without paying attention to her surroundings that she wasn't sure she would be able it find it again.
She felt sort of bad for spying on the other girl, since she knew it was probably embarrassing for her to realize someone was watching her play.
Suddenly, hearing something that caught her interest, Kayako leaned back and started listening to the other inhabitants of the room. Three girls who looked all the same were sitting nearby, chattering amongst themselves excitedly about something.
"Did you see?? It was Anemone! She was in the hall earlier!"
"Wow, if Anemone's here, that must mean Master Dewey is here too!"
"You think he'll come see us?"
The girls all squealed at once, hopping around with joy that seemed overdone for just one man. Kayako tuned them out, not wanting to hear any more of their conversation.
'Master Dewey?? He must be the head honcho around here....So he's the one that controls that black LFO I'll bet. He might be useful to me if I play my cards right...'
Her underhanded second nature was showing itself again. Internally, she was already scheming of a way to better her situation, and hopefully get what she wanted in the end.
She decided there was only one good way to start. If this 'Dewey' was here now, this might be her only chance to get a foothold in this place. She spotted an overviewer walking out of a door to her left. It was a rash desicion, but it had to be done.
She ran to the overseer and stopped her in her tracks.
Looking up, Kayako smiled sweetly, looking as innocent and excited as those girls had looked moments ago. Seeing that she was dressed the same as everyone else, she figured that if she was lucky the overseer wouldn't find her out of place.
"Excuse me, is it really true that Master Dewey is here today?? If he is, will he be coming to see us soon??"
She kept the same enthusiastic smile, pretending she was really happy, hoping that her plan would work.
(((OK, we NEED Tolly now!!)))

Rain glanced up and saw that Kayako was gone. She relaxed a bit and leaned against the wall. She, too, heard the 'triplets' conversations. Icy chills ran up her spine at the mention of Anemone's name. Was that the girl from earlier? she pondered. The one that... she shook her head, not wanting to think of that incident anymore. I hope Dewey isn't here...
((Argh, I know!! Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait...))
