Cuore Curse - x1.5 dice roll Another ship so soon? Well, at least it was a smaller vessel. Mana had actually seen it before it had completely emerged from the fog but hadn't said anything. That was the look out's job. He tightened the blonde pony tail around his neck and waited for the order from the captain. His pure white wings ruffled a bit as he felt the wind. They had the advantage of this and this ship might carry more supplies than the pirate ship they had just defeated. More like supplies that could make them more money! While Mana was not all that greedy he did have his needs. As the signal was given to attack, Mana knew he had a better fighting advantage over these men. As they weren't trained fighters he could actually do some hand-to-hand combat this time.
Mana decided to get into the fray this time. The bird spread his wings and leaped into the air. He circled the ship several times to distract and disorient the crew below and give his own crew members time to attack on the surprise. Finally, he made his real entrance as he tucked his wings in and feel to the deck, landing feet first on a poor mercant man. Cries of the angel of death and prayers to god for deliverance abounded through the crew members he had landed against. A grin spread across his face, how could god protect them from the one he made like this? He took up his cutlass and began his attack, slashing at any merchant man that can near. He kept his wings tucked close to him, just for safety.

Cuore Curse - 1.5 x dice roll Will didn't need telling twice. As they drew up alongside the other ship, he scoffed at the fleeing men aboard it. Merchants. Soft, fat merchants with a poorly-cobbled crew of other ships' leavings - they were easy prey, like pet rats coddled by children and fed to bursting on grain. Doubtless they'd hired the second best men (though that was being generous) just to see their profits rise. They'd pay for making those cutbacks now. Beside him Scrap was growling, that odd, high-pitched "mrrrr" that cats make seeping from his mouth.
"Get below deck, boy," the weasel pirate told him, shooing at him with both hands. "Can't 'ave ye gettin' yer silly self 'urt, now can we?"
Once the cat had gone, he grabbed a rope and swung aboard the ship. His howl of blood-crazed fury sent the other crew scurrying away. Now, where were the merchants? He didn't care for a fair fight today - he just wanted to see blood. There'd be richer pickings there too, if he could lay hands on them before the divvying took place: one of the poncy bastards was bound to be carrying a good sword he didn't know how to use.
After all, Will reasoned to himself, nestling comfortably into his quiet corner as Weasel took over, it was easier than taking one from a man who was trying to kill you with it.

Cuore Curse 1.5x Dice Roll Amie rolled her eyes as the bloodshed began anew "Great, more blood. I hate that smell." she said to herself, before yelling to the rest of the crew, "Let's try and keep it on thier ship guys, such a bother to clean up, and murder on the senses, mine at least." as she began slashing her way through some men. As a man comes up behind her, she feels the air rush past her as his large form rumbles towards her. Thinking quickly, and thankful for having her feline reflexes, Amie grabs a cutlass from a nearby corpse and twirls around as she avoids the large man, swinging her newfound toy in his direction, catching him in the back of the neck and toppling him like a giant tree. "Wow, this is a neat instrument." she mutters to herself, twirling the now blood-stained blade around and watching the fresh crimson liquid fly everywhere before heading back into the fray.(If it's alright, I'd like to keep this sword, if not, I can RP her losing interest in it and tossing it away)

And the battle concludes! The crew of the Cuore Scuro scored a total of 54 points. Out of a possible 60 points, that makes 90%. As the Cuore Scuro is a Galleon, against a single Frigate, the threshold is 40% In this battle the threshold of 40% must be met to allow victory. Less than the 40% means failure and a mandatory injury roll.So today's battle is a flawless victory for the crew of the Cuore Scuro! The Quartermaster will be along shortly to announce booty and shares.

For getting 90%, which is above the 40% threshold, the crew shares equal five doubloons!
Ship's boys get one share (five doubloons each), Seamen get one and 1/4 share (six doubloons each), Officers and the Captain get one and 1/2 share (Seven doubloons each).
You cannot spend these doubloons until you are next in port.
The Frigate was extremely damaged, and sunk during the battle.

Isaac groaned, they could have used planks from that Frigate. The ship needed a few repairs, and using some quality wood would have been nice. Isaac shook his head for a moment then turned to his crew, "Alright, let us get going again!" he paused, "These two fights have delayed us enough!" Isaac walked to his quarters, but stopped at the door.
"If we can get home in before night falls four times, some of you may be seeing promotions!" he smiled, and hoped that might encourage the crew to work hard. He looked back for a moment, then walked into his quarters and closed the door.

Promotion? Hmm, sounded good to him at least. He would love to make it to look out. It was his preferred position seeing as he could be a mobile look out. He had planned on getting a compass to hang around his neck when he got back into port. This way he knew he would never get lost over the ocean.
"Come along William, I've got a dubloon that says I can get more ropes secured than you before the sun is in last position."
He flew up high into the sails, where the wind was strongest and he could use his wings to jump from bar to bar.

Will, still dabbing at the cut over his eye, grinned at Mana. "I reckon that dubloon o'yours speaks the truth, messmate," he called up to him. "I can't do much good with me eye full o' blood. Gimme just a minute and I'll be up thar t'help ye, a'right?"
He sat down on a barrel with a cloth he had dipped in seawater. The salt smarted like anything, but it would clean any filth out of the wound and help it heal. And it'd mark him well, which was a bonus - scar tissue was tough stuff, and he thought he might look rather dashing with a good battlescar over his eye.
"Just better not tell folks how I got it," he chuckled. "Bloody stupid mistake, Will me boy. Ye're a lucky liddle weasel te still have yer eye..."
Satisfied, he squeezed the cloth out over the rail and returned it to his pouch. Job done. Right. Now to go help Mana. ...Aw, and Amie had lost that sword. Damn shame. If he'd been in a chivalrous mood he might have dived in after it, but there was work to do and a promotion to be striven for. So up the rigging he went, scrambling like a spider until he reached the first knot. Better check all of these, or the sails might come loose and slow them down.
"I've got this side, messmate!" he called to Mana. "We'll cross in th'middle an' double-check 'em all, right? Then we can get these sails open and set for home!"

Mana smirked down at his friend and nodded as he continued to flit about the top of the sails. He was lucky, he hadn't gotten a scratch yet in the fights. Maybe a few bruises from his drive bombings but otherwise no bloodshed yet. He thanked his gods for blessing him with such luck. But now to the business at hand.
These were the tricky knots to deal with as they held so much of the weight. But Mana had learned how best to repair them without losing the sail. He checked each one and made use of the left over rope from the battle with the Dementia. Once they got to dry land, he planned to stretch his wings a bit for some glid flying. It had been awhile and it built the muscle in his wings to battle the cross breezes. As he worked his way down he stopped in the middle to take a break and wait for William.

Upon reaching Mana, Will grinned and turned his head to let his friend see the damage. "Good 'un, en't it?" he laughed. "Bloody stupid way t'get a good scar, but well - beggars can't be choosers, an' nor c'n pirates. Right, let's cross over an' check th'knots. Sails unfurled before they know what's 'appenin', 'ey? Haha!"
And he was off again, checking Mana's work with a swift and critical eye. As usual, there was next to nothing for him to correct: he tugged a few of the knots tighter, just to be safe, but other than that there was little to be done. He ought to have known it. The birdman was a skilled, reliable member of the crew, and if he ever ended up captaining his own ship Will would want Mana at his side. It would be difficult to trust anyone else to do a good job after working with his friend for so long.
Perhaps he ought to talk to him about it, once they were well away from Captain Teneck and the rest of the crew. He didn't want anyone to think he was planning a mutiny - far from it. If he ever got his own ship, he'd want to make sure the Cuore Scuro and its crew weren't the enemy. It wasn't just because he didn't fancy his chances against such a ship, either. Even if you took Mana out of the picture, he was fond of a fair number of the crew.
