As time wore on it was inevitable that Glory had fasionably attached herself to this two-legger her mother was quite fond of, so she began many an outing trying to be as helpful as she could. Ears always straight forward she listened to sounds and took in motions the maiden made, realizing the girl's name was Tirranna. Though she couldn't speak it, she'd whicker nodding her head in agreement which caused the maiden's eyes to brighten every day.
Winter once again returned to the mountains with a deep thaw giving birth to thousands of wildflowers and the greenest grass in all the land. The berries still flourished which the two would share with no complaints. A lithe little maiden and a snow white unicorn blessed with the shinning shooting star (what stories that got around due to them). Usually Tirranna was the berry picker as Glory (who was called Shining Star by Tirranna) stood holding the basket in her mouth paitiently. Both were marveled upon and regarded as a "team" the way they worked with one another.
As the days wore by the same routine took its course with one special beginning. Tirranna usually now brushed down that silky white coat creating the most beautiful sheen every gazed upon. The mare simply beamed and glowed as if she really were a falling star to be blessed by. But something was odd if not incredible as each day progressed, for her belly had increased in size little by little causing her to look strangely pudgy and a bit fat. More and more she became larger till Tirranna realized this mare's strange weight gain. While running her fingers over the soft fer she felt a disturbance move underneath. Not so much anything horrifying but more so breathtaking, for it appeared Shining Star was pregnanyt and would produce a nice set of healthy foals. This the maiden became overjoyed about for she would witness the bitrh of Shining Star's children. Immediately she set to work weaving small baskets as her hands lovingly set each strand into a matching enclosure for the babies. Freshborn soquili are so weak that human hands must be present in order for their survival.
So now with her work finally stated and ready, she placed the colorful baskets in her teepee and kept a close watch over Shining Star. Soon very soon she'd produce the most beautiful foals the indian maiden trimmed in a dark brunette braid had ever witnessed in her lifetime....

Glory in turn returned such happiness to Tirranna for her caring of Glory's special condition. The mare whickered and munched delicious goodies such as warm corncakes, shiny red apples, and all the sweet oats she could ever ask for. A daily brushing and petting was also a plus, which caused the unicorn to become highly affectionate and loving toward this genuine person in her life. She now fully understood why her mother Celendria was so intent on protecting the very lives of these strange open two-legged friends.
She often wondered what Tirranna weaved day in and day out curious to the shape they were forming. Each were placed with a strange jewel and an array of strings and feathers. They carried no color just yet, though the mare sensed they were for her and the babies nestled deep within their protective womb, which she welcomed sniffing the strange looking things. She believed these were baskets,as her mother had said, she was raised in when Celendria had found her out in the wild. So they were indeed for her future babies. the mere thought occured to her one day what the little ones would look like, along with what gender they'd be as well. would they be like her mate, or would they carry her horn she wondered. would her children grow up and mate off with wingeds or even flutters was an even more deeper pondering. All this swirled in her head as if her wild imagination took flight once more making the pregnant unicorn become giddy and full of life. She'd ponder for hours of many things and smile all the more, especially when Tirranna came to visit her.

One very special night Tirrana set out to seek Glory (Shining Star) for her usual treats and a decent brush down of her silky fur. But strangely the mare was not in her usual spot as she always made sure to do upon that certain timing.
So with a heavy heart the maiden walked out calling to her friend holding the carrot she prepared with a good clean washing. Nowhere was there any sign of the unicorn, not anywhere. A heaviness began to lie within and she sighed miserably, that is till she heard a disgruntled whicker coming from the nearby clearing. It sounded tired yet produced a strange yet excited feeling within the maiden. Running swiftly over to the location she halted quite quick noticing the white unicorn lying on her side grunting in protest....
Glory lied there upon the soft nettles grunting miserably as her belly rumbled with movement in sommersaults and flips. Each time one became active the mare would groan and kick out her legs off and on as the movement quickened. No one had told her of this grueling moment when it was begining, yet she somehow knew that the children were very soon making their debut into the new world. Groaning again she breathed quite heavy this time, slapping her tail down quite violently.
Tirranna froze for a moment then ran to her friend immediately placing her thin delicate fingers upon the disturbed mass causing all the movement in the mare's belly. Speaking softly she began to rub gently in a circular motion trying to ease the mare's pain. She was in no doubt sure that this beautiful creature would be a mother very soon, so it was in great escence that the baskets be ready when this event took place.
So with another burst of speed she ran to the teepee grabbing fresh water, towels of sorts, the baskets, and whatever else was needed. When she arrived back to Glory's side the mare was flinching even harder and groaning so miserably as her head kept resting against the ground.
"Sa Saaaaaaaaaaaa there Shining Star. Soon it will be over. I'm here" she cooed stroking the mare's forehead and neck.

It was a dream, a very tormenting one, and yet it seemed like nature was taking her course in life. The more shots of pain, constant movements, and increased breathing signaled the go time causing the mare to push like she never had. Baring down with all her strength for and instant moment it felt to be eternal, but when the pain subsided and a darkness in peace took over, she instantly fell into slumber feeling quite overjoyed the whole thing was past.
Meanwhile Tirranna was at the other end of the situation as Glory brought her children into the great wide world. Soft sounds and her hands working in a massaging motion all around Glory's belly and rump along with a careful vigil was all she needed to do.
The mare herself was the miracle worker leaving 15 short minutes and it was over. Immediately the maiden set to work wiping down and placing all three babies in their respective baskets. Plenty of soft bedding and food was lined within so each would have a comfortable growing time till they were strong enough to return back to their mother.
After all was situated, Tirranna wiped down Shining Star with soft towels and brushed her mane and tail. She looked so incredibly peaceful lying there as her baskets were placed directly beside her. She was now a beautiful mother and Tirranna beamed with pride she had witnessed such a memory.

Days were passing and Glory's form had gone back to normal. She'd found that being a mother in waiting was one of the greatest things that could ever take place in a mare's life.
Pretty soon the rest of the herd came to pay their respects woth occasional "ohs and ahs" of envious gazes concerning the purple, black, white, and gold baskets. The only thing truly missing was her mate which she longed for dearly. But he was off elsewhere and things had to follow what they were meant to.
Tirranna was highly amused making more corncakes and tasty food to feed the others. She was making new friends all the time, remembering each of them respectively. So many colors and breeds that flowed in reminding her of a rainbow. Unicorns, to the flying ones, to those that lived upon the ground all visited from time to time. So much was starting and yet would be even more the babies would hatch from those baskets.

The baskets proved quite interesting with two unicorns (1 female, two male) and a rambuntious capricious colt . Things were looking up in the world with this joyous occasion bringing others that survived this herd from all corners of life.
The injured flutter Chepi had mended, the proud red bird stallion, the ice mare, and many others flitted like scenes in a wonderland before her. What was once a dream to see simply one "wind horse" was now an everyday experience.
She simply sat back and played her flute while the procession of visitors came and went. "Shining Star" had many friends it seemed which was even more of a sight. Still the maiden wished she could see the stallion that gave tribute to these wonderful gifts. But it was strange how time worked against you, and things grew and galloped away it seemed.
So staying behind with the shining horned one stayed the brurly yet sleek stallion known plainly as Mythril. And yes even in his growth he still had the savory appearence of a child in his silliness. Trying to fly of all things for that matter. Why he took right after his mother on that note.
She still smiled and took care of all of them giving thanks to the higher above to grant her this one wish, The wish to finally touch let alone gaze upon a wind horse; the soquili.

{ORP}Fallen Stars and a Kalona Sep 24, 2007 Shariea (( This is an open rp. So feel free to join :O )) Terror filled the colt as his right wing hung limp against his side. His little hooves scraped against the ground as he tried to keep ahead of the demon that was chasing him. Screams died in his lungs as he ran forward, wishing hoping praying. “DAAAAD! “ he yelled, but there was no answer. It was his own fault for wandering away from the others. Feathers where missing from his wing, though he was still to young to fly, it hurt him. Her teeth had found the flesh of him and tugged hard. He’d been lucky to run this far…Domnu smiled softly as she watched the colt run off into the distance, his shining coat was like a beacon of light, sparkling against the silver light of the moon. Her own crimson coat glittered, red as blood in the light of the moon. The Kalona female ran her tongue over her lips, the blood that lingered there lapped up with glee. The sparkling colt was a welcome distraction to her boredom, and she wished to hear his screams.
Crimson wings unfurled and the Kalona took off into the night sky, her shadow chasing after the colt as she watched him. She flew at a leisurely pace, drinking in his fear. Gemini knew she was behind him, he could feel her eyes bore into his very soul. Scared he looked desperately for anything that might shield him from her view. Kyaishi One silver and ebony-furred ear twitched as the sound of a foal's terrified shriek tore through the night air, and for a moment, Sukari ignored it, intent on minding her own business. She was not in the business of being kind, and certainly not anyone's savior.
As a second cry pierced the silence around her, icy blue irises narrowed, and her course through the gentle breeze veered off to the right, turning to face the menacing crimson kalona that she could see silouhetted in the moonlight. A low growl arose in her throat as her eyes narrowed. She wasn't doing this for the child, she excused herself... it was only because she despised kalona.
A moment passed, and an airborne blur of silver and black rammed into the flying demonic soquili, one back leg striking out visciously. Rein_Carnation Cassiopeia heard the disturbance long before it winded past her. An almost unsettling notion seeing her dear brother pursued by a what she wondered. A monster mayhaps? Whatever it was, the little unicorn filly felt scared, yet inclined to rush after him. For her strength was great as was her speed. Rushing outward on limber little legs she persisted on catching poor Gemini before that... thing did. Tirokio That noise.
Father, feh. What his father would do if he'd call like that would be a joke, a mere chuckle. Sure, he'd come to the rescue....maybe even fight...yet most likely, Twilight would lose it, leaving him once again- on his own.
Which is why he took matter into his own hooves.
Galloping through in search of the voice, his muscles ached from the speed and exertion while his ears rung with the sounds of his hooves beating onto the soil. Wingflaps, the sent a chilling hollow bass sound through the air from its mysterious position in the skies above. This must be the predator; ever looming, ever hunting. However, there was something that tugged the back of his mind...much like the stallion he'd met before; things were never as they seemed.
Thus, the dark teal stallion ran with his eyes fixated on the skies; hoping, no....praying to see whatever had ushered such a cry from what sounded like a colt. Nisshou Hakuyaiba ((Well let's give this a shot ne?)) The night air felt wonderful on the thief's black coat. His wings locked to glide on the winds as he fell into a relaxed state when a frightened cry reached his ears. He opened his eyes and followed the sound down ward nearly falling from the sky at what he saw. A small colt bolting from a crimson demon. If that wasn't strange enough two others had entered, another foal and a silvery wind not unlike himself.
He folded his ebony wings and swooped down to help the other feathered one take out the kalona. Jutting his head out like an arrow head he rammed at the crimson horse from the opposite side.Shariea Terror filled him, and threatened to swallow him whole. His side burned with every step and he began to slow, the ache of his winds and the lack of air in his lungs was getting to him. He searched for anything, somewhere to hide, someone to save him. Anything.
His eyes fell upon his sister and his brow knitted in worry, No.. No she couldn’t get hurt too. “Run, Go away you silly girl!” he pleaded with her in his stubborn colt fashion, but he was worried for her safety, and would rather he face what he’d awoken than have her be hurt by his foolishness. He didnt notice the others that where also coming to his aid now, only that his sister was now in as great of danger as he was. How foolish had he been, Father would be very cross if they lived. The Kalona slowly began to make her decent, she could see the foal slowing on the ground, no doubt winded from his mad dash sprint for safety. “Oh deary, dear… Doesn’t look like anyone is around to save you.” She said, though her voice was to far away for him to hear. Her smile lingered on her face.
Pain shot through her side as she felt something hit it, foolish female had shot up from behind when she was watching the colt. The Kalona didn’t have time for games, she wanted that glittering foal. “Away with you.” She hissed towards the female and angled her head so that her horns were aimed forwards her. “lest you be my next meal.”Kyaishi An indignant snort was given through her nostrils as the azure hues narrowed even further into slits, baring her own teeth in a challenging snarl as her wingflaps became more agitated and angry. "I'd like to see you try. Feeding on little foals now? My, how the mighty have fallen. Didn't you used to proclaim yourselves above those two-leggers that call themselves our masters? Why don't you go feed on them?"
She didn't wait for an answer before lunging again, one back hoof aiming a strike at her ribs while her jaws snapped, trying to grab a hold of the tender flesh of one wing.
(EDITED!) Rein_Carnation Though her feet were swift as her heart was genuine, the foal feared both she and her brother could die at this creature's own doing, its own sick idea of game even. Nimble little hooves pulsated against the hard turf as she lowered her head to charge.
"No. I'm not meek Gemini... I'm not running away," she shorted with a gleam in her dazzling little eyes. Her own coat shimmering like a beacon as she headed toward Gemini's defense. If only she could cause a distraction like the adults....
So, throwing caution to the wind she swerved to an angle lowering her head as her little horn impacted with the mighty dark kalona. The force throwing her back, skidding to a halt nearest to her brother. Shariea Gemini watched as his sister, brave as a lion turned an ran towards the monster. He watched her with an expression of awe that melted away his fear. If she could be so brave, so brave as to fight for him, he could fight for him self. His eyes turned to follow her and it was then he noticed the other adults that had come to his aid. Two in the air and one across the ground. He smiled softly and dug his hooves into the ground. It was time to stop running, it was time to strand your ground and fight.
A silver streak ran across the ground, renewed vigor and energy ran through him spurred by his sisters actions and by the others whom where strangers to him but where risking personal injury to help him. The Kalona grinned as the female rounded to face her, as stupidly brave as a mother hen. Though she was no relation to these foolish foals. Her eyes narrowed to slits as she watched the female before she exploded into action, the hood landed its blow against her ribs and an blossom of pain bloomed over her. She winced and a low growl escaped her. “Foolish female.” She spat, as her teeth barely missed her wing, if only because another form landed a blow pushing her body lower into the ground. A male this time, with wings as dark as the night sky.
The mare saw no point in staying in the sky, after all her prey was on the earth. She tucked her wings and darted towards the ground, the horn of the Unicorn filly drawing a large wound across her side as she dove from the sky. Another growl exploded from her, angry seethed, she would taste blood.
The Kalona’s eyes where only on one, that beacon of shining silver that was before her. Her tail lashed at the filling aiming to hit her along the ribs and throw her back. Her cloven hooves rained down on the colt and her teeth grabbed for the flesh of his wing. The colt back peddled, what courage he had was suddenly gone as the beast bore down on him. He screamed again as her teeth found his wing, a better hold on him than she had gotten before. She grabbed him where the wing joined with his body, where there was the most flesh. Suddenly the ground broke away from him and his wing was onfire, she was lifting him from the ground by his wing. The Kalona mare had what she had come for, and though his weight was a Burdon she began skyward once more, attempting to carry off her prey into the night. Kyaishi Letting a furious bray pierce the night sky as the kalona simply ignored her, brushing off her attacks as if they were nothing, and making off with the young colt. Rage streaked through her blood like she had never felt, and the azure hues that were always clouded with ice burned with a fire that had never been there before.
With newfound vigor, another angry flap of her wings sent her straight towards the crimson mare's back- she was moving slower now, with the burden of a foal in her jaws. "Don't you dare turn your back on me!" she ground out between gnashed teeth, baring them once more as she descended upon the kalona, all four hooves striking out at their target, while her jaws attempted to latch on to any flesh unfortunate to be near enough. Rein_Carnation Cassi felt the impact throwing her back a little, her own body wracked with pain as she focused to stand. Blurred vision sensing her brother's aura leaving her resting within the dust. Tears blinked from those shining orbs watching the entire scene playing out like a choreographed moment. There was nothing she could do but watch in horror as her brother was being totted off like some hunk of meat for this savage demon's delight. Till she noticed something....A streak of shining silver shot so fast across the sky one would of sworn that a star had once again decided to plummet toward the ground awaiting below. But, instead it swerved and impacted with the deep Kalona hard and determined. Cassi blinked her tears away slowly moving in a limping fashion toward the scene above her. Lowering her own head with a powerful set of wing thrusts the mare dived again as a mother bird protected her young. There was no circumstance, no holds barred for it was her babies that were in jepoardy. She felt no remorse for something that attached her blood, even putting her own life within fate's hands. All she derived and contemplated was retrieving what was hers, before that vile beast made a run for it. Nisshou Hakuyaiba Dark smiled inwardly as his blow connected. He had half expected to streak straight into the ground. He lifted his head, a little dazed, and looked about trying to regain his barrings. He almost wished he hadn't. As his vision focused he saw the little foal being pulled into the sky by his wing. He shuddered inwardly imagining the pain himself.
"Let him go!" He shouted. His wings beat furiously preparing to take chase when the silver horse streaked past him. The cry that followed was definitely that of a mare and he found himself a bit dumbstruck. Had the females always been so vicious? Shaking his daze once again he took off after the kalona not to fight this time but to aide the little foal trapped in the sharp fangs of the beasts mouth. As he approached he noticed another silver streak beating the crimson demon mare. He almost felt sorry for her, almost.
He flew low keeping himself wary of any blows that could come from above ready to catch the colt should the tides change at any point. Shariea Gemini squirmed as he watched the world fall away, his stomach lurched as he knew he couldn’t fly, even if he couldn’t get free. His sister was on the ground, as the dust settled he could make out her form moving to her feet…at lest she was ok. Tears fell from his silver eyes and traced small patches over his shining fur. Teeth dug in tighter the more he squirmed so finally he laid still. Hooves rained down on her back but the Kalona mare ignored them, the sweet taste of blood oozed from the colts wing, young and fresh. She winced a little as the mare continued to pound down on her as a bothersome fly. Her spaded tail lashed out at her attempting to keep her teeth at bay. Bruised and with at lest one broken rib already, this wan an expensive meal. Her side ached from the deep gash from that filly’s horn. She would have to keep her eyes open for that one In the future.
Her world suddenly shifted as silver filled her eyes and more hooves pounded against her flesh, another deadly horn shone in the light above her. She growled deeply as she moved to avoid the barrage of stomping motions from the mare, the mother had finally noticed her foals where in danger. Snorting tipped her wings and banked to the side, an aerial chase through the stars, but with the weight of the foal she couldn’t catch the updrafts that would have allowed her to move more nimbly. Finally she smirked and opened her mouth letting the colt tumble down towards the ground.
As the colt felt she rounded on the mother, teeth bared and cloven hooves scraping at the sky. Her tail lashed wildly from side to side in sweeping powerful blows. She launched herself swiftly towards the mother her sharp teeth aiming for the neck. Gemini warily felt the wind past by him as the earth rushed up to greet him, his wings where to small, and too damaged to hold his weight but he tried, unfolding his wings and biting back the pain. Hoping that they would at lest slow his fall to soften his blow. Kyaishi Snarling again in agitation that none of the blows she rained down upon the kalona mare were doing any good, a pained grunt was the only indication she gave of any discomfort as the deadly spaded tail lashed out and carved a bloody gash in her chest- though she steadfastly ignored it, flapping harder to keep up with her opponent. Another flash of silver caught her attention as an unfamiliar alicorn came streaking out of nowhere... she snorted as she noted the similarity in color between the colt being attacked and the mare that had joined the fray. So the mother had finally noticed, had she?
Lunging forward again, Sukari determinedly aimed both her striking hooves and snapping jaw at the kalona female's wings- if she could just take one of them out, then she would be forced to fight on the ground, and that would give her the advantage. Teeth snapping visciously at the thin flesh, she aimed carefully before striking out again. Nisshou Hakuyaiba Crimson eyes widened and the world seemed to slow around the stallion. Hooves flailed, teeth and fangs gnashed about, that spaded tail kept whipping trying to bite into flesh and among all the chaos the smallest body was dropped.
This is what he had been waiting for but he was slow to act. He tucked his wings to his side and allowed himself to fall trying to get below the foal before the ground came to close. The roar of the quickly passing wind was mind numbing but he forced himself to focus. Where was the colt first of all? Looking around wildly he found him in the air, tiny wings spread, tears falling, not to far above him. Perfect, or so he hoped.
His black wings spread quickly beating them a few times as he came to a stop in the air. The force of the wind felt as though it was trying to rip them from his body but it would be worth it if he were positioned as he thought he was, ready for the catch. Rein_Carnation Andromeda snorted, her eyes blazing with a sever hatred for this creature who would voluntarily attack her own children. Not even two weeks and her occupation of watching three was taking its toll on her. But, the alicorn painted of the stars wasn't one to give up, turn the other cheek and fade away. If she, her life was given to protect the foals, then so be it.
As the kalona attacked she barred her horn in an attempt to ward off the attacker. It was strange for a moment, a memory seeped in of something similar when she herself was a foal. The dominating monster, loved ones, protection. She turned her stride with her own teeth barred dancing on the cool air as if it were a glass surface beneath her sparkling form. Nothing else mattered, nor did it mean but one thing...
"Heed my words kalona. I will protect my children as the sun rises and sets. Do away with your presence, for I will not back down!"
Once again she turned avoiding the teeth of the aggressor only to get caught in her side. Pain was irrelevant as long as her children were safe.Cassi stumbled over to her brother watching the clashing forms in the sky. Craning her head downward she looked sadly at his wing, "Why... why did you do that. I was protecting you brother." She sniffed turning upward to gaze upon the protagonist and antagonist fighting in their own beliefs and drive. One would surely perish, or become sorely wounded at this rate. Shariea Gemini tumbled as he fell, his wings not strong enough to hold firm against the force of the fall. All at once he fell on something hard, hard and soft at the same time. He opened his silver eyes to look at where he was, the ground was still below, somehow, he had fallen onto the form of a stallion. He sighed and laid his head down. “Thank you.” He said softly, the only thing he had the energy to say.Domnu smiled as a wound opened on the starlit mares side, one of her attacks had found home. Though her smile was sort lived as teeth found the thin membrane of her wing, tearing and pulling at the soft flesh. A cry of rage and anger swept over her as she slashed her tail at the attacker. There was simply to many of them, and she was already to wounded to take on this fight and win.
Growling she snorted at the mare and tucked her wings. She drifted into the shadows of the mountains from where she had come, to nurse her wounds and her hatred for the sparkled colt and his family. Kyaishi As her teeth finally latched onto the flesh she'd been searching for, a sadistic grin graced her maw as she held on with all her might, almost delighting in the feeling of the tearing of skin within her jaws. She felt the mare pull away, leaving her with a small piece of the flesh she'd latched onto.
Triumphant in her venture to incapacitate the crimson mare, Sukari's victory was short-lived as the spaded tail struck out once more. A cry of pain finally tore from her maw as a diagonal slash cut into her neck and then her face, over her eyes, and she dropped from the sky like a stone. Rein_Carnation Andromeda snorted feeling her side trickle with crimson as it stained her starry coat. The Kalona was over taken finally, and even though she was proud... she felt forlorn that this had happened in the first place. Foolish. So foolish that she needed to find the father, find Virgo and speak of the children they had sowed together.
Pain was shooting in her side as her wings lowered her toward the awaiting ground. As her hooves touched softly against the soft grass, she stood for a moment remembering the events that had occurred before she stumbled toward her two babies. Wickers of remorse uttered from her shining throat, though she smiled seeing them both.Cassiopeia blinked away her tears stumbling over towards her mother. Too many things, so many scary things were swirling about in her head. They all were injured but had survived somehow... Nisshou Hakuyaiba ((That would have been both horrible and amusing at the same time.)) "Yeah yeah just hold on." Dark grunted struggling to hold his own with the extra weight on his back. He stiffened his wings preparing to simply glide his way to the ground fearing that beating them would upset the colt sending him tumbling to the ground once again. He bowed forward ever so slightly to begin his decent.
He landed close to the small filly that had been brave enough to stand up to the kalona and the back up that had arrived to help himself and the other mare. He lowered himself to the ground still feeling the colts weight on his back as he rested. The scent of blood was heavy in the air but he couldn't bring himself to look at the casualties. Was this how kalona encounters normally went? He didn't really want to know...((*feels bad cause she's so slow*)) Kyaishi Heavy, labored breathing sounded from the winged mare as she hauled herself to her feet, stumbling in her haste to show that she wasn't vulnerable (nevermind that she obviously was). Blood dripped from the various gashes that the razor-sharp tail had carved in her flesh, soaking into the silver fur around the wound. One azure eye was shut tightly beneath the deep scratch upon her face- she could only pray that she was able to use that eye again.
Lifting her head reluctantly to look towards the injured colt, a soft snort was heaved as she witnessed the reunion between the foals and their mother- briefly reflecting on how she was never- and never would be- that close to her own children. To her surprise, a small vestige of remorse accompanied that thought, but it was resolutely brushed aside.
Turning away from the touching scene, moving with a slight limp, the mare started towards her own home.
