"I swear to god I will hold you down and shove this down your throat." Sid growled. "Eat it!"
This was, come to think of it, why wife #2 rarely let him deal with the kid.

And Billy, who was hardly a child physicaly, (although mentally even sober was debatable,) still remained silent, stubborn, and on the virge of something that was bound to be ludicrous and insane. "Don' need food no more.."

"Why don't you try it and see?" Sid said, changing tactics. "I bet you forgot what it even tastes like."

"I knooow wha'... fish tastes li'..." He groaned, slurred and sluggish voice wavering in mentally disabled frustration, "'Been... eatin' nothin' but.... fer months. No more."

"How about a cheeseburger?" Sid asked. "Ham sandwich? Something, come on. Don't you feel at least a little hungry?"

"Yeah, but that'll be ten times more degrading, man," Sid retorted. "At least I'm your friend."
Which naturally only made it slightly degrading, so he quickly added, "I'm trying to help here."

Billy's head lolled and his voice became a mutter as his attention went down to his worming tentacles, "Friend? 'Aint got no friends. Who'd be pals wit'... a fecked up... murderin' looser li' me?"

"Me, apparently," Sid said. He wasn't going to bother plunging into some heartfelt speech. Hell, why did he even bother at all? He still had no answers, but he kept trying. "I would have walked off and let you starve otherwise. So, sorry to spoil the fun."

The unstable and sedated man shifted in his chair again, rocking uneasil and slowly befor flopping back to settle down in his mass of soft, sticky limbs that looked to need a bit of moistening. "Y'don'... really care... yer jes'... bloody bored in this place. Takin'... care o' th'cripple... keepin' y'entertained?"

Sid rolled his eyes and finally popped the piece of fish into his own mouth. He barely chewed it before swallowing, the rubbery texture was bad enough as it was... He'd never understand why the stuff was so popular.
"Believe me," he said once he swallowed. "There are a lot of better things I could be doing. Do you really want me to leave you alone? Cause I can."
He really couldn't. He'd feel too guilty.

"No one... no one asked y't'stay...!" The octopus weased, ink dribbling down his chin againa s though running on instinct. Thankfully he was to out of his wits to set off his collar again.

"So that's what you want, huh?" Sid said. He began to drum his fingers on the table. "To just... slowly, very slowly waste away... all alone. Hmm? Something like that?"

If not for the frustrating exchange leading up to the o-word, Sid would have likely reigned himself in, laughed it off... Instead his temper was just frayed enough that he grabbed Billy by the closest appendage at hand, which ended up being one of his tentacles. He yanked him close enough to his point mouth to just enough to hiss, "I am not old... I'm the only person who gives a s**t about you right now."
Which was true- the old part anyway... you weren't old until they let you have discount movie tickets and order off a senior menu. He still had a few months before it came to that.
In the meantime he had an octopus very close to his face. What a way to spend an afternoon.
