Yes, people do drop rps, and that is part of the challenge of rping online or in real life. It isn't going to happen with every rp, so it isn't going to break your chances at getting an evolution or add that much work. It's just an occasional disappointment. Move-on with your storytelling!
A Solo rp has to be a completed scene of at least 500 words. Up to an including 1000 words still counts for only 1 rp. 1001+ counts for two. You cannot count a single scene for more than 2, even if it is 3000 words, though that’s probably a nice piece of storytelling.
A joint rp is a storytelling scene between more than one person. Any number above one. It can be two people, three people, twenty, whatever. But each party has to contribute more than two posts, and at least 500 words for it to count towards requirements. More than two posts, 500+ words. The scene has to have a definite ending as well, closing the rp.
In both cases, 1001+ words counted counts for 2 The joint will still need more than two posts. This is the maximum that can be earned for an rp. This avoids bias towards verbose players or over-weighting one scene in the development of a god. Yes, you can write 4000 words in a single joint rp easily, but it is unrealistic to believe that a single encounter would account for 27% of a god's development as a character as a morph. (4000/500 = 8, 8/30 =26.66667 ). By all means write the fullness of your inspiration of a scene, but 2 pts is the maximum req points allotted to any one scene. Enjoy rp for the rp, not the points.

PREMADE GODS
Premades will be evolved on the regular system starting from what stage they were created at. Example: if a premade was a youth at sale, then the player needs to complete the 100 req points from Youth to Deity.
Grandfather clause -
It will be the player of any given Edelsteine acquired prior to this revision who may choose to follow one of these options for evolving their character. This is a one time, permanent choice assignment.
1 - Full clause: they retain the old tally system and just use the Evolutions thread to let the GM know when they would like a Tally as per once usual.
2 - Compromise Clause: they may start counting rps since the date of their last evolution. example: If HerpDerp, god of Stupidity, was an old character and his last evolution was to Youth on Jan. 2 2009, then all his rps after that date would be counted on the new system towards deity.
3 - New system: The player can waive the grandfathering completely, tally their rps according to the new system and then submit for evolutions as appropriate.
Works of Glory
This is a work of some media of art made by the player of that god. Art is a broad category, including but not limited to paintings, drawings, collage, photography, textiles (knitting, quilting, tatting), installation art, music composition, and musical performance. While we can't expect or judge everyone to be professionals of a craft, we can expect that there be proof of thought and care taken with a work. Traced submissions, half-finished works, etc are not candidates.
Each player may submit up to 5 works of glory per stage. Each is worth 3 req points.
Commissions by the player
This is a work of some media of art purchased by the player of that god. Someone NOT the player made it, and it is a finished piece, linkable and enjoyable by the community.

Art gifted the player
This is a work of some media of art purchased by someone NOT the player of that god. Someone NOT the player made it, and it is a finished piece, linkable and enjoyable by the community. This is emphasized with a higher count to encourage community reading and enthusiasm for each others characters.
Each player may submit up to 5 Gifts per stage. Each is worth 1 req point.

I'm happy with that.
I don't write huge amounts and it works for me. I tallied up as I was moving Cos's journal over (just incase you went with this system) and it puts her at about 150 points which gives me a ton of room to develop her character up to deity.
And actually it's making me concious of really improving my RP style. I find I've been writing more per post and really trying to develop the situation/surroundings and feelings. ^____^
I also like that works of glory etc are included. Need to start working those. i've got a list. heart

I have a feeling I am misunderstanding what was meant here. Is it RPs plus WoG only for Jewel to Morph? And then future stages would be allowed to be the mix of RP, WoG and commissioned stuff, yes?

Question about the "Compromise" option: do you start at the tally points you had when you made the last evolution you had under the old system (say, 130) or at the new 100 base for youth?
If it's the former...Rio's last tally was lost, I think. Would he then start at the old 120 minimum for youth, or...?
Rio would be sitting at, since Youth: 24 story points; 5 commission points; 1 gift point. 30 total. +30 if all solos are filled in/adjusted. +14 if all current RPs are finished/old ones permitted wrapped.

Moar question! For old/abandoned RPs, would it be okay to sort of...tack something onto one to make it a wrap, to make it usable? I have a lot of these. orz
Are followers going to go away entirely, or be part of the new point system too?

With the grandfather clause, we can choose per character, correct ? Say I'd like to convert Kios to the new system fully since he was never tallied, but start Xun's new tally as of his morph post and Ankou from his youth growth post ?
Also for the compromise option, they still have to do the amount needed toward the next stage rather than everything ?
Ex - Xun Jiang is a morph, I grandfather him in. His pre-morph count resets to 30 and I pick up from there ?

I approve of this new system. I really like the options and smattering of art options throughout the stages, and the option to grandfather or compromise.
However, I thought Grigori were 1-Stage? If I remember correctly, Batraal would be starting at General, correct?
Edit: My only question also goes with the WoGs - do they just need to pertain to the god? As in illustrating something of theirs? A place that is important to them? Symbols and ruins from their histories? etc etc

It seems like an agreeable system. I'll have to recount my stuff some, a few of my solos are really one big scene split by logical break points. But thats no big deal. =3

Though it says gifts are worth a higher count, they're still worth one point/can only have 5 a stage, the same as commissions? XD;

Also, points add up? So even though it says from Youth to deity 200 points, you only need 100 since you've already got 100 from completing the previous stages?
I think maaaaaybe it would be less easier/a bit more challenging if it was:
30 points gem --> morph
100 NEW points morph --> Youth
200 NEW points youth --> deity
and then the same sort of thing for the others (born gods/grigori).
Unless I'm reading it wrong or if people disagree with me. XD;;;

I do like this revision and the different options you have given for this. And I'm glad the WoG are still there. My question is the same as everyone else's.. Can they be of things pertaining to the god or do they have to images of the god? I did a symbol for Taj and I had a couple other things that I planned to do, but Taj is in neither one.
I'll have to let you know which way I'm going for mine. Carp and Valor are definitely on the new, but Taj and Lisana I'm not sure about yet. I still have to look at their journals closely to figure out where I am and what is logically the best way to go with them.
