I think that it started when I saw volume 8 of Fushigi Yuugi in the library. I checked it out (but of course, it made little - to no -sense). That's why I decided to read the whole series and see what it was about heart

Hmm... I think I've been hooked since 5th grade so 4 or 5 years. I got hooked because my neighbor was watching FY and she sensed that I was interested because she let me watch it from the beginning (she had the whole series on three or four disks). I was hooked after the first or second episode. FY was also the very first anime I saw so I also got hooked on anime at the same time. In 7th grade, my friend and I started buying the books.

Fushigi Yugi was the first manga I read. It was the summer after 10th grade at a summer theatre program. A friend I had made on the first day brought in the first FY book and told me to read it. I was totally into it from the first few pages. Years later (I was 15 then, 18 now), FY is still my favorite manga and I have read over 200 manga. My favorite character from the start was Hotohori, and he still remains to be my favorite^__^.
I've read the 16 books of FY that are out so far and I cant wait for 17 and 18 to arrive. I've only read the first book of FY Genbu Kaiden (I need to get to a bookstore...) and I like that a lot too^___^.
Yay! And I have all of the FY anime too!!

I got introduced three years ago. One friend introduced me to manga the same year, but another let me borrow all their books, including the first 6 of FY. I loved it from the start and ran out and bought a bit of Ceres within a few months. Wastase was one of two authors that changed manga from an interest to a "love" of mine (the other was CLAMP, so typical, I know!)

Back in 1996 I was a member of an anime club and on one of their anime showing's they showed Fushigi Yuugi. I was hooked on the first episode and been a fan of the series since. Each dvd box set that came out, I bought, same with the mangas. When I heard of AnC, I downloded the episodes to check it out and decided to buy the anime for it when it was released in north america. After that, I started researching Yuu's other works and collected whatever I could.
Hoshit!... I've been a fan now for almost 10 years o_O

3 or so years ago. I was at the library, browsing through the limited selection of manga, and I saw Fushigi Yugi. Of course, there wasn't much else there, so I read it. I really, really enjoyed it. So now.. I'm a huge fan!

I think it was three years ago... before I even knew what any of her works were. I was randomly looking for music videos when I found one called, "Dreams Come True". It's a song by S.E.S. and the person made a Fushigi Yugi Music video of it. So for a few months that's the only thing I'd watch. In 6th grade oone of my friends moved and I hardly ever get to talk to her, but once when I did she told I should read Fushigi Yugi because it's the type of 'book' I'd like. (I was DBZ obessed then... sweatdrop ) So then in 8th grade I bought the 1st volume and found out that it's the same series that was in that music video... I cried... xd Well anyway... My other friend read it and then she went and bought the rest of the volumes and let me read them. (I admit it annoyed me a little... gah.) Then she got Ceres and... you know what happens after that...
((Sorry if I had a lot of run on sentences!))

Tusuami ((Sorry if I had a lot of run on sentences!)) I don't think people will care that much. At least, they don't seem to mind when I do it. n.n

*thinks* wow. i've been one since 1998, thanks to a friend of mine who first introduced me to manga in the first place. i was 9 then, and didn't understand it too well, but i loved her art just as i do now. The very first manga i read of hers was volume 3: Deciple, of the immensly famous Fushigi Yuugi, and i feel in love with Watase Yuu at that moment, and even went to a covention she was in in Cali!
