Rin turned her head, burying her face lightly against Long's back. She was trying to ignore the spirit, but it was hard. Her voice was echoing around her head, so it was very difficult to block out. She kept going on about how Rin was alone, and always would be. That was usually the most effective talk she used to get under Rin's skin. But now she had someone, at least for a bit, so the words weren't working as well as they used to.

It was making the spirit angry. Once again, Rin saw herself in that pitch black room, huddled up in a corner. The woman was sitting beside her, her arms around Rin's shoulders as if she were comforting her. But she was really whispering into the younger girl's ear, about how the curse would never be removed, and she should simply give up. If she gave up, then all her worries would be gone, and she'd be able to rest peacefully.

But Rin still tried to ignore her, arms looping around Long's neck even tighter, as if to assure herself he was still there. Though, her grip was still light enough that she wasn't strangling him or anything..

"Hmm?" Long spoke to himself as he turned his head slightly to see Rin. The warm sunlight hitting Long also hit Rin, almost as if it were pure light just finding its way to Rin. He lightly set Rin down gently not to disturb her. Undoubtedly, something was happening, Long could deduce Rin was having a nightmare, or something else was going on, but something felt weird about it. He couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Long had stood there with the noon sunlight hitting them. For a while, Long stood there with his head turned around. He observed Rin for a while and lightly smiled, "At least you have one friend that is willing to carry you when you can't walk..." Long spoke to himself aloudly as he turned his head and watched the clouds pass by the sun, creating a rather beautiful clear day with clouds passing an evergreen plain that was the park area. Long couldn't help Rin any further when she wasn't awake, so all he could do was wait patiently as he then continued on as light and cloud from teh skys seemed to follow him and Rin.

"I'm glad that Rin doesn't think my methods are insane, or else she'd hate my guts for doing things like this for her..." Long thought to himself as his eyes shifted between the clouds and then his own reflection of a nearby lake. He looked back at how he got Rin in trouble with food, running a race with her, and her standing-up to his brothers. Rin kept becoming more and more confident as his lessons were ended, as Long kept dreaming up new plans for her to pick up from as a symbolic message to his odd approaches ans situations in which he placed her in. He then looked at Rin's reflection, and back upon himself. But then his smile began to slowly unfurl itself.

He noticed he was still unaffected by the sunlight, it didn't make him feel like he was forgiven yet. It was almost as if his body carried the grief of all those he hurt. His skin was still paler than a ghost's and unimaginably grim compared to Rin's complexion. He then looked down and kept walking. Long only frowned as he looked back at Rin, "You have a better chance at a new life than me..." Long spoke quietly with his zombie stare as he almost passed the gate of the park observing the bright sky and clouds as he passed.

When Long set her down, and Rin was no longer hanging onto him, she let out a noise that could very well be mistaken as a whimper. At the same time, the spirit took this as a chance to speak even more, louder and louder until she seemed to be yelling. In her mind, in that dark room, Rin was only able to cover her ears, face pressing against her knees which she'd drawn to her chest. She kept trying to assure herself, but he'd let go, and the spirit's efforts had tripled, and finally she couldn't take it anymore.

For the second time that day, the spirit managed to take over. Her eyes slowly opened and she just stared up at the sky for a momet before glaring at Long. She wasn't going to make any random attempts at killing Rin at the moment, since he was around, and instead just glared at him before suddenly speaking up. "I don't get it," she said bluntly. "What are you trying to get out of helping her?"

The spirit was as confused as Rin was. No one had gone through such effort to help before. They all made their pathetic attempts, and then retreated in defeat. So the spirit couldn't help wondering if he was getting something out of it, something that she'd overlooked.

Long was shocked to see that Rin was awoken and not really Rin. Long only frowned...This time with his grim stare as he had reversed the flow of information to Rin's body instantly doing to Rin what it did to Byakko earlier. That particular power in general was nearly unstoppable, it could stop entire hordes of warriors with a mere glance. Long was too mentally fortified to be affected or phased by anything.

"So that Rin could be who she wants to be...to have friends...to..." Long said with a rather long pause, "...but it angers me to see that you want to control Rin's life against her will...Listen good and listen well...Rin is changing...I know you fear that you will be overwhelmed and overtaken...I don't have any intention of gaining anything out of this except knowing that Rin will be better off without you inflicting her life..." Long said as he looked down on the spirit almost enough of a stare that looked as if he were ready to kill like the grim reaper. But instead it would instill fear, Long had no intention of intervening with things, but he instead stood by the sidelines to make dirty looks as part of Rin's discovery process.

Long then knelt down and lifted slightly to hold Rin up, "Now...if you don't mind, I have to take Rin back to her room...If you please," Long spoke implying that he wanted the spirit to leave and let Rin take control. Long had never before been so grevious about a subject to the point where he would use his powers. Long then picked up Rin the same as before putting her gently over his back again her holding onto his neck as he supported her with his hands from behind. Long was helping out Rin since it was in his mind to help out someone who...was like him before. How he felt, Rin would probably never know why she was helping him. But, Long wanted to prevent it to the point where it might make Rin go insane...he believes that no one should ever reach that single point and feel the pain of millions.

Long gently held Rin close so that she wouldn't fall, and that the spirit wouldn't be a bother to him. He was only trying to help...but he wouldn't really let Rin know.

Rin blinked a couple times in confusion, suddenly realizing she couldn't move. She mentally cursed to herself as she continued glaring at Long, but took in what he was saying at the same time. She was about to reply, until she caught the look he was giving. That was more than enough to shut her up, and make her keep silent. With another mental curse, she released her control upon Rin, since there was nothing she could do at the moment. She decided she'd need to work more quickly though.

Rin was still asleep at first, until she realized they were moving again. She peeked one eye open, for a moment staring blankly at the back of his head. But then it hit her what had happened and she bit her lip before closing her eyes again, very tightly. She'd let it happen... again.

At the moment, she wanted nothing more than to actually get a good rest. She was more vulnerable to the spirit when tired, she'd discovered, and right now she was exhausted, and anxious, and just... not feeling very good at all. She sighed almost silently as she just clung lightly to Long from behind, her head resting against his back yet again.

Long only stayed silent. His face hadn't changed at all for a while since his confrontation with the spirit. But his head was so leaned over that no one would see him frown. It was almost as if Long felt he had failed, that it was his fault that Rin could end up worse than she already was and that maybe his method and plan wouldn't work.

But that wasn't the case with him however, He felt grieved that he was envious that Rin would really get some sort of help out of this and move on forgetting about him. There was a possibility that Rin would receive a second chance at life. He was becoming in a way...jealous that Rin would be given an oppurtunity like this, at receiving a second chance. It made him feel like something lower than dirt inside to think this way. The spirit's question however did seem to effect him...it made him think negatively about what could happen. It made him envious...it made him feel as if he was doubting his own abilities.

Long only kept quiet now, he hadn't let up his face anytime soon. He only walked some more before seeing the indenture of his face before the dorms. He then remembered his lessons to Rin. What good were they if they weren't helping her out? Long may have been just lying to himself all the while that he could help her if he did these things. Long's body slightly stiffened as he came to a sudden pause.

Rin had laid herself gently on his back as she held her arms around his neck almost as if needing it, needing him. He had snapped out of his slight depression as he looked back at Rin resting. He only smiled, forgetting every inch of his negative thoughts as he then stood up proudly and remembered what he was really doing these things for. He then advanced his pace, and saw his indenture of his face on the cement, and gave a light laugh. His doubt almost came and went like a dream in that moment of time. It didn't affect him all too long, but it didn't permanently harm him either. Long held Rin up closer lightly as he then carried on walking past the way towards the road that was just outside the dorms.

Rin remained silent for a moment, trying to piece together what had just happened. When she was asleep while her body was taken over, sometime she simply caught small bits of pieces of what the spirit had done. She didn't hurt at all, so that told her that no attempts to try anything had been made, or at least, Long had stopped them. She remembered the spirit had asked something as well, but she couldn't recall what it had been, nor what Long's answer was.

She frowned to herself, waking up a little more despite how tired she was. She couldn't rest when her mind was working so quickly. She glanced up at Long for a moment, just staring at the back of his head again without lifting her own. She had been wondering about herself, but looking at him, she again thought of his two 'brothers' and what exactly they wanted, not to mention what it was she'd gotten herself mixed up in.

But he said to leave it at that, so she wasn't going to ask. She'd just keep silent, and try to figure things out herself. Though, without anymore clues to go on it was a little difficult. Oh well. She figured she'd find out eventually. It might even be best that she not know, but she didn't think about that.

Her own thoughts stopped wen she felt Long stop moving, and she blinked, looking back up at him. He laughed a minute later, standing more straight, so she didn't let herself worry about it. Well, maybe a little, but not enough to pry by asking. Instead she just continued hanging onto him, glancing down once and smiling faintly at the indent he'd left in the ground, the first smile since she'd met him. She couldn't help letting this one slip out.
