Shadows are my friend.. ......their neutral glance and void of emotion a comfort to my soul They are empty and so am I.. .....that common ground draws me closer to the shadows, deeper into darkness Solitude and silence envelope my being....... ..crowd noise around me reduced to silent moving mouths on the faces of strangers Darkness welcomes me where light would not venture Evil fills what was once a heart You've stopped crying, I've stopped trying...... This is my existance now........

That may be true Daniel, but the emotion in it still moves me...

"Faith and purpose all but faded, left with merely one Happiness is cold and jaded, security undone Careless whispers slowly deafen, reason growing dark Left with none but haunting lesson, innocence but a spark Hope hangs like a woven teather, never giving way Make two forces come together Beckon thee to stay"

Wow Kiara.. nice.. For some reason I can never manage to get what I want said in short form.. I tend to prefer the shorter ones.. I just can't seem to write them very well.. so many kudos to you...
And Outlaw... I look forward to seeing what you've got.

Thanks Erin. I prefer the short ones if I'm rhyming because I find I tend to get repettitive or tedius if I go for a long poem in rhyme. Non rhyming ones however, I like the longer ones because it's a chance to express more. Care to favor us with one of yours? It's been a while. ^_^

No worries. I haven't been inspired to come up with anything new lately myself. Maybe looking through some of our older poems will help us.

I did this 11 years ago when my niece was born
A child is born
Little things can make you happy. The first time they as placed in your arms and the see you for the first time. A child's first smile, a child's first laugh. The warmth you feel as you look at them. Those moments change your world forever. The first sounds that could be a world they make. They are so close to mama that you smile. When they roll over you jump for joy. These little first feel so wonderful. This little things are so special and you gave this family this little gift. One more person to love and care about. One more wonderful gift to watch over. Thank you.
