Sound.
Voices.
Please don't hit me...
Her eyes opened, watering. The pain was subsidding, but only just. She didn't want to move. She didn't want to feel pain. She wanted to sleep and sleep and sleep. Sleep it all away. Her breath was ragged, almost wheezey. She wanted water. Water to swim in. To hide in.
"Is... Is it... Over?" Her eyes scanned the area, log, log, sky... Alex.
"Is it over?"

Warren was a bit shocked to see someone he just met change, but the effect didn't last as long as when it did when he witnessed his first change, that was a tough event to get over. Warren followed Alex and went over to Alys' side, furrowing his brows at the sight of the slime that was around her, mucus-like stuff with little glowing dots. "that slimy stuff looks and smells better than that black ink Billy spits at people" he said, trying to lighten the mood a little "guess it is a squid you're changed into, you got a couple new... things on your sides" Warren wasn't entirely sure the new growths were tentacles or not but probably was a good guess "Alrighty...Alex, help me get her up and we'll move her back to your duplex and into the bathtub with some water so she can keep wet, she shouldn't be alone after this...help me get her up" Warren asked as he got down to try and lift the squid-woman up, waiting for alex to do the same "You're going to be just fine Alys"

"Run-tse duh fwo-tzoo...", he muttered to himself, glancing back over at Nick, so he wouldn't look like he was staring at what happened to Alys, partly still in shock at what he did see. He nodded to the feline a bit, then turned to look back down at the changed Alys.
"...yeah", he said, barely a whisper, as he reached up to rub his own eyes a bit. "Its over..." He was so unsure what to do at the moment. "Can... you move?", he asked, not sure what else to do, as he moved over to her side. It was probably a good thing Warren wasn't as messed up by what had just happened.

She could feel her body twitch, her breath slow down only slightly. She moved her head, towards the voices. The fire brought a shine to her dual coloured eyes.
"I.. I think so..." Her arms moved, slowly, crawled along the ground until she managed to push herself into a seated position. Her head was swirly. Her body ached, but she kept moving.
Managing to her to her knees, she realised just how weak they had become. She would need help walking.
"I can't walk on my own... My legs... too weak."

Nick was all the while watching everyone help the strange girl up to her feet. “Maybe I should help” he thought, as he tail swished lazily back and forth. Although, he didn’t have much in the way of appendages anymore, there wasn’t much he could do.
His conscience eventually won him over, and he drew himself closer to her. “D-don’t worry…it’ll be o-okay” he said, though his mind quickly added in his head “Why do I have to be so bad at this?”

Alex nodded to Alys and then looked to Warren, as he tried to help pick Alys up. "Yeah, uh, sure... Don't worry Alys. Alright?" He looked over to Nick and frowned a bit, "Could you help us out a bit? I think me and Warren can get her to my place but could you get the door for us, or at least let one of those screwball docs at the lab know... errr.. hell, they probably already do know..."
He gritted his teeth as he thought about it, but pushed the thoughts aside, since he and Warren really needed to see about getting her someplace to where she could get over some of her changes.

Warren helped Alys up when Alex did to try and make it as smooth a motion as possible, he knew how sore one's body got once the changes were over with. "Yeah, sounds like a good plan, and watch for anything we might trip over too, don't want to drop her now" Warren told Nick, looking down as he felt something wet on his side, the biolumencent slime was oozing onto his shirt! normally he might have been disgusted by this, but he pushed the feeling away in his mind, focused on helping Alys out.

Alys winced as the pair worked to lift her, she felt so helpless... again. Just like when she was with her parents. When her father was drunk and her mother so high on every drug known to man. She wanted to wrench herself away from them, but she knew it wouldn't help.
"Thanks..." She spoke quietly. Glancing at Nick, "It'll never.. beokay," Never. Never okay. The rum and the shock was making it difficult to focus, to think straight.
"Water."

Alex nodded and worked with Warren to lift Alys up. "You try and relax Alys. We'll get you a lot of water, just... relax..." Yeah, that was easy for him to say, even as he tried to focus on getting her to his duplex.
He didn't want to comment about it 'never being ok'. He didn't want to admit that it wasn't okay. It was easier to just to think that it was the alcohol changing and the shock of the change.

“Calm down, if you need a drink or something, I’m sure there’s one somewhere around here” he said as he glimpsed over his shoulders to see if there where any drinks at all. He hated having to see people like this, and it was getting increasing tempting to leave.
“I don’t think I can be much help guys” though he was speaking to Alex and warren he said this to his knees “See?” He held up his paws for them to see, his thumbs little more than a lumps on either side of his palms.

Alys tried to make it easy on then, and managed to take steps. Knees giving way every third or forth step. She wanted water. No, it wasn't her. It was the squid. The squid wanted water. The squid wanted freedom, it wanted to eat.
It wanted to mucus. But luckilly it was going to take a while before it had the chance, despite how much Alys wanted to stop it. She glanced down to herself. There were blue glowing blobs on her, a smokey mucus dripping off her limp tentacles and arm-tentacles. She could feel the fins on her back, they twitched.
"Don't let daddy... hit me... Waterfish. Ugh... Al..ex. What's happening to me?"
She was dellusional now. Too exhausted to keep thoughts in her head and memories from flooding her.

"Its alright, daddy isn't here, daddy can't hurt you" Warren said to try and calm Alys down, knowing the mix of alcohol and the change were probably messing with Alys' mind. He glanced at Nick as he walked along with Alex, holding Alys up. "You can use both your paws to at least twist the doornob can't you? if you can't, find someone who can..." Warren's tail lashed in back of him, "don't worry Alys, going to let you take a nice long bath, then you'll feel better"

“Oh...err...y-yeah, I guess I could” he said quietly ad he stared at his paws, somehow it’d slipped his mind he was capable of opening his own Duplex by himself. As they continued walking he kept making soft mewing sounds.
For the moment he wanted this to be over as soon as possible, Alys talk about water, and sounding like her animal was taking over just reminded him of his own frame of mind. He sometimes went great lengths of time where his feline instincts took over to satisfy their basic needs, and his memory lapsed.
“I-I’ll try and get stuff ready for…you ‘kay?”, before anyone could reply he scurried off on all fours towards the village.
Edit: Whoops, er, nevermind, ya'll know already ninja

Alex decided not to comment. It was easier that way. He didn't want to think about stuff right now. It was just so much easier to just work on getting Alys to the duplex. Speaking of which, the door shouldn't be too hard for Nick to open. Alex's duplex was mostly like any other's but there was the whole thing with a few photos of airplanes around the room as well as some of his items from before when he'd been a pilot.
"Its okay Alys... we'll get you some water and you can sleep this off...", he said, as he worked with Warren to get her to the bathroom so she could spend the night in water.

Everything was blurry. One moment she was giving Alex a drunken hug, the next minute she felt wet.
What happened? The water in the bathtub woke her up and managed to straighten her thoughts. Oh, pain.
Oh... She changed. That's right. She groaned, her appendages wrything, soaking up the water.
"I'm sorry, I didn't want to be a burden."
