Haha, I enjoyed the film but agree with some of my friends that they seemed to be trying to tie off everything too quickly. Granted, this was supposed to be the last of the Pirates movies and everything, so tying things off was the point, but it seemed...rushed. I enjoyed the ending though because they can leave it as is or even take it further (though I think 3 Pirates films is just about enough, heh). And then the Elizabeth/Will scenario appeased me because they nevered seemed like your normal couple
anyway, ya know? Plus, I think we all knew Jack wouldn't have done what he said he was going to do! He can't bare to be tied to much of anything, heh.
haha, yeah! they did seem to tie everything up, as was expected. as you said, they could make a 4th film, there's a neat little opening for one if it gets around to it, but right now i'm satisfied. if a 4th does come out, i doubt will and elizabeth will be in it as it seems their story arc is pretty much finished.

This thread would be a good idea... if there was any philosophical discusions to begin with.
smile That's just my observation.
xd i like how the movie made will out to be a tragic hero of sorts, but if you want philosophical, i still want to discuss jack's reaction to what happened to will!
razz at first i couldn't really understand why jack looked so horrified and how will getting stabbed in any way altered his plans of gaining immortality via the heart. so we chatted about it for a bit and eventually i posed the question that... did jack react the way he did in part because we, the audience, expected him to since we seem to think his character is relatively good? anyways, we debated this over breakfast and eventually we came up with an idea that (while i think is kinda flimsy) was at least remotely acceptable to me, and that was that jack did in some quirky way care for will and elizabeth in the end. (i mention that because it reminded me of the philosophical discussion of the self and whether we see ourselves through other people's impressions or through our own conclusions about what gets us the most of what we want)
p.s. i think that last bit was how the problem of self goes, i forget now
sweatdrop )
p.s.s. imma stop now cuz this will get too philosophical and p-mind will scold me and move this post somewhere >.>
