Sanee

And I don't know how to pirate music without getting nasty bugs, or getting my IP tagged by the US government.

underline= Don't use free download sites. 3nodding Other than that Neko has an uncanny ability to find everything she needs on a computer. Including music.

bold= Myth. For the most part because a person can change their IP address if I remember correctly.

Using P2P programs (Limewire, etcetera) makes you more prone to getting bugs that come with your music. Not that Limewire has a double-checking function to stop it, though...

The US government can probably track your computer, but won't. They target major distributing sites, not individual P2P clients.

....I'm going to pretend like I know what you're talking about.

Neko, could you redirect me to some sites that will help me find some music? I'm not sure it will work, since this laptop's pretty old.

Depends on what you're looking for. Got a few artists and/or song names?

Nope...

I'm unsure about this too... I just want to know where I can get underground/anime music. If only I-tunes carried them.

( I've heard of Rapidshare, and I /think/ I have an account there, but I forget the pass, s/n, an everything. How would I use that site?)

Oh that kind of stuff. Databases on certain sites can usually provide a lot. Let me go find the link from a good one I found recently.

[Never heard of rapidshare, by the way. Can't help you there.]

http://sutekinasekai2.free.fr/

That one has a good few. Only the ones with a User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. are music though.

There are thousands of more shows that aren't included on there though. Most of the time I don't find all my music in one place though. I'll usually have to search for it song by song.

And by underground, I assume you mean 'not mainstream'. I'll usually get that kind of stuff from friends or family. There's no way to know about the music though unless you hear about it first. I think there's a music forum on Gaia here. You could look around there see if you can find any you like. [When I hear about something, I'll listen to it on youtube to see if I like it.]

For just general music search, I reccomend Dogpile.com ; It's a good search engine for looking for music because, well, it has an audio search option. If I can't find it on there, I'll go to google and search for fan sites. On those fan sites there are usualy: databases. Or they will have a place where you can download the music.

If you can't find it after that.... well... I can't really explain how I go about it after that. It depends on the song.

Wow... that turned out longer than I thought it would.

"Shinjitsu no Yukue"- From .hack//G.U. volume 2

Angela Aki - KISS FROM A ROSE (Japanese have this odd habit of capitalizing entire words)

Sanee, another alternative is to first Google what the names of the songs are (if you're looking for OP/EDs [opening songs/ending songs] or whatnot), then ask us if we can get them for you.

That way, I'd get caught first, and you wouldn't have to worry 'bout a thing.

I like this search engine best: http://www.singingfish.com. Keep in mind that it doesn't have every song, but it is a starting place to search.

...I don't even know how to reply to that.

All that information you two gave was really helpful. Thanks 3nodding
( Now, if I only wasn't too lazy to actually go to websites to search for music =P.)

Wait... if those are free music sites, then don't I put myself at risk for bugs and other nasty stuff?Or do you pay for the songs? If it is pay -per-song, how do I pay for them?

Oh my GOD.... I literally ROFL'd after reading that. rofl

They aren't free download sites, simply search sites. Singingfish solely for searching for music and videos and the like, Dogpile a search engine much like google, 'cept, better for looking for music.
